Starbucks never misses an opportunity to cash in on a celebration or moment.

There’s a frappuccino for everything.

As soon as we went wild for all things mermaid, they brought out their sea-themed frappuccino. Back in the spring, they launched their spectacular unicorn fraps. They even did a dragon frappuccino (a stab in the dark but I’m assuming that was in some way linked to Game of Thrones).

So it’s no surprise that they’ve just launched a whole new Christmas iced delight.

Enter: the Christmas tree frappuccino.

It starts with a Peppermint Mocha Creme Frappuccino base and then it’s topped with a ‘tree’ made… Read the full story

The New Ugg Boots Are Here And... They're Actually Heels
(Picture: Ugg)

Ah, Ugg boots.

The Juicy Couture tracksuits of the accessory world.

They’re both highly impractical (try wearing them in the rain) and unflattering (they always cut your legs off in the wrong place)…but they’re also SO COMFORTABLE.

And 10 years ago, they were about as cool as you could get because they cost an arm and a leg and Nicole Richie wore them.

Were you even a celeb in 2003 if you weren’t papped wearing bug-eye sunglasses and Uggs while putting out the rubbish or clutching a coffee?

Then they went out of fashion because they’re the epitome of basicness.

No matter how long you’ve been without your loved ones, Christmas can be one of the toughest times of year (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

Chris Rea’s Driving Home For Christmas is the song I played during my teens and twenties each time I left London to head up North to see the family.

It’s not my favourite Christmas song but hearing it used to make me so excited about heading home.

Now it just makes me feel nostalgic about years gone by.

With both my parents passed away and three children of my own, I now spend Christmas in my new… Read the full story

If there’s one way not to sell tights, it’s by stretching them over your entire body to prove how massive they are.

I mean, tights are tights, they should be… tight.

But apparently, Wish didn’t get the memo – and they’ve been advertising their Plus Size Ultra Elastic Tights Stockings Women Sexy Shaping Pantyhose Socks by stretching them all over standard size models’ bodies.

While one photo shows a model standing her entire body into just one leg of the tights, another shows a woman being able to stretch the tights right up to her nose.

Christmas jumpers, on the whole, are pretty lame.

They’re supposed to be cheesy as hell because the festive season thrives on all things kitsch.

And now Aldi has released a line of Chrimbo jumpers – with matching items for your pets.

Yep, your little pooch or kittie can now suffer the humiliation of having to wear a unicorn-themed jumper alongside you.

The festive jumpers are available in a range of sizes: human adult (£7.99), human child (£5.99), dog and cat (both £3.99).

And they all come in a variety of styles to match your – and your four-legged friend’s – personalities.

But why would a creature covered in fur need or want a jumper?

Fear not, weary slicers and stone-grabbers of avocado, no longer must you risk the horror of avocado hand to make a topping for your toast every Sunday morning.

While avocados are widely celebrated (I’m not a fan, please don’t throw things), it is a truth universally acknowledged that they are a massive faff to prepare – that’s why every other month there’s a new hack to make them easier to slice.

Once you carefully slice open your avocado you’ve got to stab your knife into the stone and ease it out, all the while risking a chopped finger or wrist strain. It’s a nightmare,… Read the full story

Spartak Moscow doctor claims that women perform in sports better after sex

The role of sex in male sports performance has been long contested.

The Ancient Greeks believed that sperm provided men with energy and aggression – and that by abstaining from sex, they’d boost their energy and frustration which could then be used on the track or field.

Today, a number of football managers still seem to follow this idea.

Mexico’s football team were made to abstain from carnal pleasures ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, as was the Bosnia-Herzegovina team.

On the other hand, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola has actually said that having sex might make better players.

‘It’s impossible to play good football if you don’t [have] sex with your… Read the full story

Most people are not born with an innate sense of how many a 9 kg turkey will feed, but you will soon get the hang of it.

How common is anal sex, really?

When you’re not doing it, it seems like everyone else is.

When you are doing it, you’re made to feel like you’re the only one. You know, because of anal still being a bit of a taboo.

So let’s look at some stats to reassure us either way.

A new survey from Bespoke Surgical has found that one in four straight women had anal sex on a regular basis – meaning at least a few times a month.

So that’s 25% of straight women. Not a majority, but perhaps more than you might expect. And these are women who are having anal… Read the full story

From a cheese one to a vegan chocolate one, we all love advent calendars.

But while there are treats aplenty to be found in the doors in the lead-up to Christmas, what if your advent calendar could save a woman’s life?

Charity Refuge has decided to eschew the traditional advent calendar by instead having an online countdown to Christmas to do exactly that.

Running from 1 December to  25 December, #RefugeAdvent will open a new door on the online advent calendar each day.

For women and children experiencing violence and abuse from their partner, Christmas is no different.

Somewhere between mid-November and March, a phenomenon known as ‘cuffing season’ emerges.

This has nothing to do with actual handcuffs, but more about being metaphorically attached to a romantic partner.

Last Sunday afternoon, an adorable one-week-old money was found struggling to breathe and severely malnourished in Bangkok, Thailand.

Little Olive was barely alive, with just a faint heartbeat. Her mother had gone missing and was not able to give her breast milk. She desperately needed liquids.

Luckily, rescuers found her and took her to the vets to give her a bottle of milk and saline solution with vitamins to help her get her strength back up.

Olive was nervous and shaking after being transported to the Samut Sakhon Animal Hospital, but she was safe.

Christmas might be a special time but it’s also a period where you’re often forced to do things you don’t want to.

You’ve got to hang out with annoying relatives. You’ve got to eat horrible fruitcake. You’ve got to wear the nasty jumper your gran knitted.

Inside, your eyes are in a permanent side-eye for the whole of the 21 Days of Christmas.

And nothing sums your inner animal up quite like this grumpy sourpuss.

Last week, photographer Brooke Goldman was walking through New York when she came across a random cat nestled in the manager of a little nativity scene.

He obviously had very few sh*ts to… Read the full story

Yep, you heard correctly. A Beyoncé beer is now a REAL thing.

So who’s behind the genius drink we didn’t even realise we needed? Brooklyn-based Lineup Brewing, a female owned and operated independent brewery based in Brooklyn.

The can’s design features a matte black background and pink letters and looks similar to the self-titled Beyoncé 2013 album – so we’re pretty sure the icon would approve.

You may have noticed that we’ve been looking into the ethical profiles of a whole bunch of sweets recently.

Are Haribo Halal-friendly? Some are but not all.

Are Maoams vegan? No. They all contain a shed-load of boiled animal bones.

Love Hearts are vegan, vegetarian and Halal, as are most Skittles. Chewits, however, contain egg white powder.

The confectionary world can be an absolute minefield.

So finally, what’s Fruittella’s profile?

Surely those lovely chewy, fruity squares are edible for all?

Body positivity is everywhere these days.

We see companies trying to cash in on it all the time – even going so far as to actually Photoshop ‘flaws’ onto models to prove their woke-ness.

Forget those people.

Because a real display of self-love and body confidence was on show last week in New York’s Times Square, where body-positivity activist and model Khyrstyana put on #theREALcatwalk.

And it featured a whole load of real women from all walks of life strutting down a catwalk.

She took inspiration from the anti-Victoria’s Secret show that happened last month, with women ‘flying in from other cities’ to represent the entire spectrum of… Read the full story

2017’s choice was Greenery, chosen to reflect a new beginning and a return to nature.

Style over substance, friends (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

More and more women are involved in fitness these days.

Maybe that’s because we’re being subjected to new beauty standards which revolve around looking toned and strong, rather than weak and skinny.

Or maybe it’s because we actually have a great natural capacity for fitness.

Yep, young women might be aerobically fitter than young men, according to a new study.

Previous research may have found the reverse, but scientists at the University of Waterloo in Canada claim to have found that women are able to draw oxygen from the blood at a faster rate – meaning that they can outperform guys.

They studied how much… Read the full story
