‘Digital nomad’: the phrase sounds appealing and the concept is attractive too.

Usually accompanied by descriptions such as ‘location independent’ and ‘working remotely’, it seems to offer up a solution for the ever-present conundrum: how can I travel and see the world more?

Learning the lingo and working on the move: here’s why travel can be fantastic for your CV

But what exactly does it mean?

And how can people jump on that very appealing bandwagon?

Well, here’s all you need to know about becoming a digital nomad and living life on the road.

Memes, however you pronounce it (as long as it’s not meh-mehs) are quickly taking the highest echelon of internet humour and although it might be two days into the year, we might’ve already latched onto the latest one.

Steve Harvey, not new to the world of satirised internet sensations, became the latest meme figure after an unfortunate choice of attire.

While the blundering host was presenting Fox’s New Years Eve telecast, eagle-eyed viewers focused in on his peculiar outfit.

The unforgiving Twitterverse couldn’t help but laugh at the 60-year-old’s outfit, which featured a wide-brimmed hat with a matching trench coat, black gloves and a scarf underneath.

Some of the hilarious comparisons included… Read the full story

Last year was a big year for beauty.

Thanks to everything from bizarre Christmas trends (hanging baubles on your nails anyone?) to Nutella lipstick, it’s fair to say not a lot can shock us now.

Among the most hyped launches last year was Fenty Beauty. Rihanna’s makeup brand received a load of praise for actually delivering diversity in terms of both her product selection and the ad campaigns for the brand.

The biggest lesson we learned? The old myth trotted about my brands failing to deliver, ‘darker doesn’t sell’, certainly isn’t true. Just look at the commercial success of Fenty Beauty’s massive range… Read the full story

Animal-lover gets a surprise visit from a horse while she’s in hospital

We all know that hanging with animals can have therapeutic benefits.

Whether it’s a bunch of farmyard animals giving the elderly a space to talk, care home visits from penguins, or a therapy cat purring away on someone’s lap, the presence of something small and furry can be incredibly soothing.

Usually therapy animals are on the smaller side, but there’s no reason a horse can’t brighten someone’s day – you’ll just have to get them through the door first.

Ever wondered if it’s socially acceptable to sleep with your brother’s wife or step-sibling?

We still haven’t been able to shake the memory of Tatler saying it was ok.

There are countless ‘dos and don’ts’ lists all over the internet and guidelines on who and what you should keep your hands (and anything else) off.

While some magazines advocate and encourage sexual relations with step-siblings, cousins, your best friend’s ex, brother’s wife or your dad’s friend, we offer more relatable and less related advice on exactly who you shouldn’t be getting naked with:

1. Your flatmate

You’re not alone if you’re struggling with acne – but it can feel like it.

It’s so rare to see skin that isn’t smooth and pore-free in adverts, on TV, and all over Instagram, so you start to feel like there’s something weird or wrong with you for having acne – despite how common skin issues really are.

That’s why it’s powerful for someone to share their acne free of any filters or foundation – because it’s a reminder to those… Read the full story

Christmas is over, the new year has been heralded in and you are back at work while the kids are back at school.

Routine may have returned but one festive question still remains.

For how long must you continue to wish people a ‘Happy New Year’ or ask them how their Christmas was?

We’ve all been guilty of an eyebrow faux pas or two – the triple brow anyone? – in our pursuit of thicker, better brows.

And it’s no wonder. After all, they frame our face. Thin eyebrows can be the bane of your life if you’re after thicker brows.

But now, a solution for improved brows ones could be on its way.

A video published by Vogue Korea shows someone crafting a very realistic-looking brow with a swipe of gel. How you ask?

Well, a K-beauty product called Reallyyy? (yup, that’s its name) uses a clear gel and natural-looking fibers to act as eyebrow extensions.

Generally an activity for the more experienced sexual adventurer, sounding is the act of sliding a (very well lubricated) rod down the urethra – the bit of your anatomy that you pee out of – for pleasure.

And strange as it may seem, plenty of people do just that and it’s more popular than you might imagine.

Because one Chinese family is showing exactly what you can achieve with a little hard work and grit.

They decided to get fit and trim together and 31-year-old Chinese photographer Jesse documented the whole six-month transformation.

It all started when Jesse’s mum said she was temporarily moving in with her son and his pregnant wife to help her during the first few months of motherhood.

And Jesse decided to invite his dad along for the ride.

The soon-to-be grandad also brought his alcoholism and beer belly with him and Jesse thought that perhaps a group weight loss… Read the full story

For all Disney‘s greatness, it’s hardly got the most diverse portfolio of heroines.

Growing up, those of us who aren’t white or blonde had the choice of being either Jasmine or Esmeralda…and that was pretty much it.

But one model is showing how Disney princesses might look if they had a little Indian makeover.

Model and MUA Hamel Patel is from North Carolina and has been reinterpreting everyone from Ariel to Belle in a classic Indian style.

‘Growing up I always wished there was a Disney Princess I could relate to, one that represented where I came from,’ she says on Instagram.

Starting a new gym can be pretty daunting, and feeling comfortable being naked in gym changing rooms can take ages.

You don’t want to get your wobbly bits out when you’re surrounded by lithe young things who look like they could run a six-minute mile.

That’s what good sportswear is for – sucking and holding you together.

But one gym in New York is offering clients the chance to drop the lycra by putting on new naked exercise classes.

Hanson Fitness in New York – whose members apparently include Rihanna and Tom Cruise – is launching its nude workout sessions this Friday.

And now, there’s a whole roster of books by black and minority ethnic authors published this year set to challenge, provoke and stir debate.

Fenty Beauty took the beauty industry by storm last year by embracing diversity in all shapes and forms.

Catering to over 40 different skin tones, it’s fair to say that the brand’s been a total gamechanger.

We didn’t think it could get better but somehow, Rihanna’s pulled yet another trick out of the bag.

Two of RiRi’s top-selling products now come in one glorious package.

The first, Gloss Bomb, is a flattering lip shine and was part of the original round of launches in September.

The second much-loved product is Killawatt, a peachy highlighter that gives a subtle glowing flush.

It’s a match made in makeup heaven.
