If there’s one thing anyone should have on their bucket list, it’s do a road trip in the US.

With this in mind that we took a trip down the Great River Road along the Mississippi, taking in 10 different states and covering 2,500 miles – including a huge diversion in Arkansas where the only person around to help was armed with a bright purple baseball bat.

The journey took us through the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.

Like the river, we started our trip in our Hertz rental car thanks to their… Read the full story

Penis enlargement is tricky business.

Currently the main options are a surgery involving cutting the suspensory ligament, which makes the penis look longer, or the use of a soft silicone implant.

Both pose risks (cutting the suspensory ligament can cause the penis to point downwards, while an implant can be rejected by the body), but for men whose mental health is negatively affected by the size of their penis, they can feel like the only options.

But soon, there could be an alternative.

A company called StemProtect is looking into the use of stem cell surgery as a way to enlarge men’s penises.

The surgery works by using liposuction to… Read the full story

Oh baby, oh baby (Picture: thevurgerco.com)

Vegan burgers can sometimes be very sad states of affairs.

If a place isn’t equipped with vegan sauce, vegan cheese or, er, a set of vegan tastebuds to remind them that yes, our people do actually enjoy taste and texture, then they can end up dry, sad and soft.

London’s Brick Lane is lucky enough to have Mooshies, a totally plant-based (and licensed) burger bar who make ridiculously tasty burgers, but we’ve just heard that Shoreditch is being blessed with another 100% vegan burger bar!

The Vurger Co was set up after its owners became sick of unhealthy, processed vegan burger options – some… Read the full story

We’ve made good progress through January now, lads, which can only mean one thing – Christmas is behind us and Easter is just around the corner.

You know what we have to get through before January, though? Lent.

And you know what marks the start of Lent? Shrove Tuesday.

Do you know what Shrove Tuesday means? Pancakes.

Those who observe Lent often make sacrifices and fast in the 40 days leading up to Easter, so pancakes were traditionally made as a ways of using up rich ingredients like milk, sugar and eggs that would not be needed over the… Read the full story

Self-care in the new year comes in many forms: hauling yourself to the gym after being bombarded with no-joining fee offers or bubble baths with expensive Korean sheet masks resting on your face.

New-age methods have seen us rubbing crystals on our face to heal ourselves from the outside in with rose quartz stones believed to have anti-ageing effects as well as the power to reduce eczema and puffiness.

Now, the next big wellness trend might be brushing your hair with a fancy bit of rock.

That’s according to Andi Scarbrough, the founder of US hair salon CrownWorks, anyway.

Her personalised treatments range from 60-minute treatments to four-hour… Read the full story

Don’t panic (Picture: Getty)

Every woman who uses or has ever used a tampon has one great fear – getting it stuck.

It might sound like its impossible but it does happen and can be very upsetting when it does (obviously).

Firstly, it is not going to go drifting off around your body but it will need to be removed pretty sharpish.

What Meghan wore – outfits in Nottingham, Brixton and Cardiff from her handbags to jeans

Meghan Markle‘s outfits will forever be a great source of interest as she continues to make bold fashion statements – and prove she loves a good sale, too.

The 36-year-old went for an all-black ensemble for her recent Cardiff visit with Prince Harry, which happened to be her most expensive look to date.

Her image is strikingly different to Kate Middleton‘s, who loves a splash of colour, with Meghan having previously shown her love of neutral colours on other public… Read the full story

Upmarket department store Harvey Nichols has provoked controversy this week with a sign above its menswear department that reads ‘great men go down’.

After writer Rob McGibbon spotted the sign, he tweeted his annoyance at what he called a ‘double-standard’ and ‘casual hypocrisy’.

The suggestion was that anti-sexism campaigners would never let lie a sign that made such an innuendo about a woman performing oral sex.

But this example is a bit of an outlier.

Do you actually need to use toner?

Cleanse, tone, moisturise.

It’s the magic trio, right? We’ve been told it’s the fundamentals of skincare, the very basic three things you have to do to have a proper skincare routine.

Except along the way, things got more complex. Now we’re advised to double cleanse. We need to throw some exfoliation in there twice a week – using a chemical exfoliant not the scrubby kind, of course. There are countless sheet masks. Where does serum come into play? What about gentle acid peels?

With all these new steps, it’s probably worth questioning those basics we’ve held on to since we first worked out that scrubbing our skin with soap wasn’t quite… Read the full story

These guys look very tasty (Picture: Solent)

If you believe in the bible’s creation story, then you will know that Adam and Eve basically ruined everything, all over an apple.

Like apples aren’t even a good fruit, what the hell is your problem, guys?

Anyway, because these two were seen as the first ever human couple, religious homophobes like to use the ‘Adam and Eve, not Adam and STEVE’ argument, however they are willfully ignoring the larger issue at play in that we are all children of incest and related, therefore dating our relatives.

Anyway, that was just a cute little back story for you, you incestuous hound, because fancy London department store Fortnum… Read the full story

What's the correct way to bury your pets? Getty Images
Sweet angel pupper (Picture: Getty Images / Metro.co.uk)

Being best pals with your pet(s) is the greatest thing in the world – until they die, and then it becomes the hardest thing in the world.

Whether they died of old age at home, or were put to sleep at the vet’s, it’s never easy.

In fact, the death of a pet is utterly heartbreaking.

It can also be a confusing time – are you allowed to legally bury any animal in your garden? Can you bury pets in the park? (I once scaled the fence of the park opposite my house… Read the full story

Getting a new puppy? Beware of these pitfalls

So cute, but so naughty (Picture: Getty)

There is nothing more provocative than the thought of a fresh new puppy.

The silky cuddles and the cute little face is an attractive idea indeed.

But, of course, the reality of animal ownership – hard work and responsibility – also applies to those first few months with your new pup.

My family is the lucky owner of a new, little chap, our third in 12 years.

Rather like having a baby, as soon as one has grown up you’ve forgotten just how hard it is and start getting broody.

So while, yes, my life is 50% Instagram-worthy moments, the other 50% is a total nightmare.

Here are some of the trials you encounter… Read the full story

Absolute scenes (Picture: Instagram/Temple of Seitan)

‘Chicken’ gods Temple of Seitan caused a huge ruckus back in January 2017 when they opened a ‘fried chicken’ shop in Hackney, east London.

It got people talking because this wasn’t just any old ‘chicken’ shop – this ‘chicken’ was vegan. In fact, the entire menu was vegan.

The ‘chicken’ is actually made from seitan, a wheat protein that can be made to look, taste and feel like real meat. And it’s delicious – some of my omnivore friends (who have no interest in going veggie or vegan) say they prefer it to actual fried chicken.

The vegan chicken shop was… Read the full story

Call me anti-social, if you like (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

Being an introvert can be a tough thing to accept at first.

Your parents might tell you that ‘you’ll grow out of it’ but here I am, 20 years later still hating speaking on the phone.

But even long after you’ve accepted that you’re happy to be an introvert, the fun doesn’t quite stop there.

Now you have to live the rest of your life being misinterpreted as ‘the anti-social one’.

I accept that us introverts might be a little hard to read, so here’s a list of 10 things to make us easier to understand.

When I was preparing to write this post, I was thinking of all the little reasons why I don’t like dogs.
