I’m sorry, do you not know about the legend that is 89-year-old Kimiko Nishimoto?

You need to know. She is an icon. An inspiration. The person we want to be when we grow up.

Last year Kimiko attracted global attention for her truly wonderful self-portraits.

17 years beforehand, she’d decided to enroll in a photography course run by her son. She fell in love with the art, and creating self-portraits quickly became a passion.

We’re not talking about standard black and white shots next to windows, though.

Kimiko’s self-portraits are something special.

Yorkshire Pudding Day is tomorrow, 3 February (yes, that’s an actual thing), and to celebrate the all holy addition to the nation’s beloved roast dinner, Morrisons is modernising the traditional Yorkshire Pudding by turning it into a pizza.

Yes, there’s going to be a Yorkshire Pudding Pizza – and no, we’re not completely sold on the idea either, but apparently it’s delicious.

The cheese and batter hybrid combines a crispy Yorkshire pudding base – made in Doncaster in South Yorkshire – with a filling of tomato sauce and mozzarella.

It’ll be available in two flavours: classic pepperoni, or meat feast – made up of mini meatballs, pepperoni, spicy beef… Read the full story

A 20-year-old woman from Cornwall claims that she’s cleared up her psoriasis with a plant-based diet.

Jessica Belshaw has sufferered with psoriasis since she was 13.

It’s a condition which causes skin cells to produce faster than your body can shed them, leaving red, flaky, crusty patches of skin covering the sufferer. It can be incredibly itchy and sore.

Jessica first noticed spots on her torso, but as she could easily cover them up, didn’t tell anybody about it until she was 15 when she was diagnosed with guttate psoriasis after small red patches started spreading over her entire body.

By covering up – even in the height of summer… Read the full story

Nobody should have to give up on being a vegn for medical reasons, but facing the low FODMAP diet is a big ask if you don’t eat meat, fish or dairy.

In case you didn’t know, the low FODMAP diet is used to help relieve the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) sufferers.

It can be pretty restrictive and when you’re avoiding all animal-derived products already, the combination can seem impossible.

Here are 10 recipes to restore your faith in combining vegan and low FODMAP food.

Logan Paul makes a valid point about parents monitoring what children are watching online

Logan Paul is definitely not in a position to criticise parents on the way they bring up their children.

But that doesn’t take away from the fact that he makes a valid point when he points out that it should be the parents’ responsibility to monitor what children are watching online.

Times are rapidly changing when it comes to our children’s viewing habits compared to how we watched television growing up.

16 interview hacks which will (hopefully) help you land your dream job

Which is probably why many parents were left wondering what their children were actually… Read the full story

Relationships are hard.

Not climbing Everest hard, not childbirth hard, but committing to one person, whole-heartedly and honestly, to the exclusion of all temptation?

That’s no easy feat.

There’s a new type of tampon with a liner attached

Innovation in the menstruation game has been pretty slow.

The last big attempt to move things forward was vagina lipstick, and we all know how that turned out (it was a terrible idea).

Despite the fact that half the population has been menstruating for centuries, we’ve managed to make it to 2018 without doing much work on improving that experience. There are still women and girls who can’t access sanitary products, there are still concerns over the environmental and health effects of tampons, and tampons are still taxed in the UK.

It’s a bit miserable, really, but we just keep plodding on, making do with what’s on offer and gathering… Read the full story

Women don’t have any problem with male only spaces – as long as they’re not screwing us over

A story caught my eye this morning, about a man who runs a barber shop who refused to cut women’s hair.

Now firstly I don’t know a woman alive who’d want to get her haircut by someone who didn’t want to cut their hair (it’s nerve wracking enough when the person with the scissors is trying to get it right) so I seriously doubt this ban will have much of an affect.

But what really piqued my interest was the owner’s justification for not serving women. He stated: ‘I feel that men need a place, especially a barbershop, to go get a haircut, have a beer… Read the full story

A new mum has revealed how she gave birth in the car on the way to the hospital with no pain relief – using hypnobirthing skills.

34-year-old Melissa Ayling from Geraldton, western Australia, had hoped to have a calm water birth in hospital with her second child, but wanted to stay home as long as possible before giving birth.

However, she accidentally left it too late, with her baby starting to appear as she was being driven to the hospital by husband Sam.

She went into labour at 39 weeks after eating chilli and mussel pasta – the last thing she ate before going into labour with first son, Jarvis, now four.

She felt… Read the full story

January is over finally but the nights are still dark and gloomy, however, next month there will be light at the end of tunnel (no pun intended) as we embark on British Summer Time (BST).

It will soon be time for us all to adjust our watches and change our alarm clocks so we don’t end up late for work (unless you rely on your smartphone, then you’re fine).

Michelle Sobande, 47, was inspired to open her launderette, Odd Socks, in Guisborough, after having to do her son’s laundry.

She said: ‘My son Joe needed shoulder surgery just before he was going off to university, so I decided to do all his washing for him before he went.

‘I found a launderette in Saltburn and sat there with nothing to do while the washing went round.

A cat: the worst (Picture: SensorSpot/Getty)

Oh yay. It’s Caturday, let’s all post pictures of cats and ignore the overwhelming truth.

The overwhelming truth that cats are w*nkers. All cats. No exceptions.

Okay, I don’t want to see cats come to any harm. I hope all cats in shelters find their forever home.

Logan Paul makes a valid point about parents monitoring what children are watching online

But, you know, not rehomed anywhere near me.

You see, we have put cats on a pedestal for way too long.

A pedestal they do not deserve because they are mean, calculating and Machiavellian.

Your teachers get all their marking wrong (Picture: Deirdre Spain)

It seems how I was conceived; my own sexuality and my Dad’s sex life are topics that strangers enjoy discussing.

This is because somewhere in our conversation I referred to my ‘dads’.

Dads are great for lots of things. They’re there to protect you from boys, to give you extra cash when mum’s already said no, and of course, to tell you those awful, yet so lovable dad jokes.

But you know what they’re not so great for? Talking about periods.

While some of us have dads who don’t need to be told what brand of tampon to buy while at the supermarket, others have dads who are a bit more clueless.

Like Twitter user Keira Platt’s dad, Mitch.

For the past two years, we’ve been going pretty crazy over anything Beauty and the Beast related. The beloved movie’s Chip, in particular.

There was the Chip purse, Chip-themed slippers, a Chip backpack and of course the Chip mug.

And now, thanks to Hot Topic, there’s a Chip makeup bag.

The Loungefly Beauty and the Beast Chip Makeup Bag costs $11.17 (£7.85) and comes in Chip-form, featuring his smiley face, his nose handle and his pink, blue and purple base.

It’s only just February, which means we’re still in that time of year where we should expect drizzly rain and cold winds.

Which also means, for anyone who spends at least half an hour walking outside, that you’ll probably be susceptible to some damp feet on a rainy day.

Which is where these raincoat boots come in handy.

Yep, someone has created some raincoat boots which are exactly as they sound – boots made with raincoat materials. They even come with a zipper and a tie.
