At one point or another most of us will end up with a scar or two (or more) on our bodies. Whether they’re stretch mark scars, surgery scars or more, it’s easy to become insecure about something that perhaps wasn’t there before.

You can end up comparing yourself to others who may not share the scars that you do. But it’s important to remember that just because you can’t see them, doesn’t mean they’re not there. They may just have similar feelings to you in regards to hiding them.

Life would be so much easier if we all just embraced our scars. So why not?

Here’s 7 reasons why you shouldn’t be ashamed of your scars:

1. They tell a story

Take me to church.

Regardless of your religious beliefs, there’s simply no denying that there are some good absolutely gorgeous churches around.

And no one’s better at capturing their magnificence than photographer Richard Silver, who shot these stunning panoramas of church interiors.

The Native New Yorker told Metro.co.uk: ‘This project of photographing churches in a Vertical Panorama started in New York in 2011 but now has taken on a life of its own for me.

‘I have traveled to at least 25 new cities around the world and have accumulated over 100 different Vertical Church photos that one day I hope to turn in to a book.’

And when that day comes, we’ll be first in line for a copy. Check these beauts out.

How can something so glittery and nice bring so much stress?

For some reason all of the adverts/YouTube videos make it seem like applying make up is the easiest and most simple task in the world. In reality this is far from the truth.

One does not simply apply make up flawlessly and skip out the front door to start their daily adventures. Oh no, it is much more complex than this. Whether you keep it natural, or go a bit glam your make up is guaranteed to cause a daily meltdowns.

Oh hai babes! (Picture: Nando’s)

Well someone had to do it.

We love Nando’s, you love Nando’s, but which Peri-Peri main meal option is the finest of them all?

We know – tough question.

And while we don’g usually like to play favourites, we thought it was about time we made some tough decisions and put a few dishes in their place (Prego Steak roll, we’re looking at you).

So, after much soul searching (it all got a bit XFactor judge’s houses tbh), here’s our ranking of every Nando’s main meal option.

1. Chicken
Obvs, because it’s what 99.9 per cent of us go to Nando’s for. Whether you have a quarter or whole (greedy!), extra hot or lemon and herb (we’re not judging… Ok, maybe a bit), you can’t beat… Read the full story

She may be pushing on 60, but Barbie has FINALLY got her first period. Sort of.

Nickolay Lamm (the guy who brought us the Lammily doll, aka. ‘normal Barbie’) has decided to tackle the sensitive subject of puberty, with his new Lammily doll Period Party.

The pack – which he designed with his mother Yelena – includes an educational pamphlet, 18 coloured sanitary towel and panty liner stickers, a menstruation calendar and a spare pair of knickers (because this is real life, and you know, accidents happen).

Autumn <3 (Picture: Getty)

Finally autumn aka the best season of the entire year is upon us.

Autumn is amazing, and each year it brings a unique set of events that only happen during these special months.

Long gone is the unpredictability of the British summer, and instead we welcome in cosy nights in with the heating on, new TV shows, the countdown to Crimbo, and obviously all of the stodgy food we can get our mitts on.

1. The cold

Yes it gets chilly, but we all know that this is actually a good thing. Cooler weather means less pressure to pretend you’re enjoying yourself at a rubbish BBQ, and also the return of tights.

2. The rain

It rains, and you don’t even get angry. Whereas in summer… Read the full story

Wildlife experts in Costa Rica have blasted a mob of selfie-crazed tourists who scared endangered sea turtles away from their nesting spots.

Carlos Hernandez, one of the administrators at Ostional Wildlife Refuge – which was established in 1984 to protect one of the world’s most important nesting sites of the olive ridley sea turtle – reported that the eco-tourists disturbed the very turtles they were there to admire.

According to reports, buss loads of tourists took to the beach to snap selfies, upsetting the turtles with camera flashes and blocking their path to the shore, with some particularly ignorant people even placing their children on top… Read the full story

Generally, there are few things more depressing than waiting for a bus, but we reckon these incredible structures could make even the dullest of activities a joy.

Looking more like alien space ships or Burning Man art installations, these bus stops were actually created by architects in the Soviet Union – not a place you would usually associate with whimsical, flamboyant architecture.

Photographer Christopher Herwig first discovered the unusual architecture of Soviet-era bus stops during a 2002 long-distance bike ride from London to St. Petersburg.

Turns out that the 00s weren’t as cool as we originally thought.

Back in the dizzle (the 00s) we thought that we were living through the best of times. In fact, it was actually kind of the worst of times.

These were dark times, because it was an era in which Paris Hilton was considered cool, a time when you would have sold your Nan for a chance to get something velvet emblazoned with JUICY all over it, and when ‘poppin’ ya collar’ was considered the slickest dance move you could do. Oh, the shame.

Female? Over 25? Then you’ll totally relate to this post.

It happens to every woman. One day you suddenly hit an age where every other person you meet feels they have the right to ask you about your plans to reproduce.

Regardless of your relationship status or whether or not you’re already sprogged up, they’ll question you about your plans for kids like it’s a totally acceptable conversation starter.

But it’s not, because a persons choice to reproduce is actually an incredibly sensitive and personal issue.

Exhausted with the constant questions, Michigan-based freelance writer Emily Bingham decided to make a stand, and penned a totally spot-on Facebook status to clear things up once and for all.

Our place (Picture: Getty)

Times were tough.

The city had yet to pull itself out of its postwar doldrums.

But nobody told us.

Growing up in Liverpool in the 80s and 90s was fun.

Even if it involved dodgy tracksuits and sickly wine.

1. It wasn’t our mums, or the boogie man we were truly terrified of. It was the Cocky Watchman.

2. Anyone who said they had a genuine Sergio Tacchini tracksuit almost certainly got it from Paddy’s Market and never stood too close to a naked flame.

3. Saving up for an original Peter Storm jacket was considered to be the wisest financial investment a kid could make.

So I’m standing topless in a windowless, slate grey room while a man in black hoses me down with a high-powered jet of freezing cold water.

‘Turn,’ he commands in clipped Rhineland tones, and I’m duly hosed off from every angle.

No, I’m not investigating the world of torture porn, I’m at Healthouse Las Dunas, a beautiful spa in Malaga designed to help you lose weight – albeit in sometimes surprising ways.

Thankfully it’s not all cold water and paper pants – that was just the second half of my manual aquatic massage, which started off very nicely with a water jet pummelling my tummy fat into submission in a warm bath.

No matter your age, cake is ALWAYS something to be excited about.

Remember this? Feels like years ago. It was only February (Picture: Yandy.com)

Remember those heady days back in February when we were all obsessed with the colour of that damn dress?

Your mum couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about because, seriously, are people still wearing bodycon in 2015?

Anyway, in possibly the least surprising turn of events ever, someone’s only gone and turned The Dress into a Halloween costume.

And now Pronto, a popular Japanese coffee house, has invented the Kit Kat croissant.

Each buttery, flaky croissant is stuffed with two Kit Kats. You can either eat them cold and crunchy, or warm and gooey.

Or, y’know, you could just try one of each. Because Kit Kats for breakfast.

23 things you’ll only know if you grew up in West Sussex

A lot of people seem to love visiting West Sussex because there’s so many touristy options (apparently) and everyone seems to think it’s all nice and dainty.

It’s pretty much known for being surrounded by fields and I guess that can be nice if you’re not used to so much grass, but when you’re surrounded by it 24/7 it can become pretty annoying.

Here’s what you’ll only know if you grew up in West Sussex.

1. If you meet anyone from outside of West Sussex, there’s no hope in explaining where you live.

2. So you pretty much opt for, ‘Oh about an hour and thirty minutes from London.’

3. The only decent shops around are New Look and Top Shop.

4. And they’re probably the smallest versions of the shops around.

No matter how amazing your job is, you’ll still engage in activities that you won’t be admitting to any time soon.

Going to work is a lot like going to school, except with way more stress, longer hours and an okay-ish salary.

But there is so much to your job than the original job specification, a lot more.

Alongside your normal tasks you find yourself stealing food, dabbling in a bit of online shopping, and sometimes having mild panic attacks.

Here’s 15 things we all do at work but never admit to.
