Even if you hate Valentine’s day, we’ve got some news that you might be able to get on board with.

Cheap booze!

ASDA are selling yellow label Prosecco for just £5 a bottle this Valentine’s day, which makes it the cheapest bottle of Prosecco available in shops. (Maybe don’t lead with that when you produce it for your date).

The deal runs until the 14 February, but you’d be well advised to get on with buying it up, because the offer only lasts as long as stocks do, and given how much Brits love Prosecco, we don’t think it’ll take very long for ASDA to sell out entirely.

If you’ve got a whole load of old clothes taking up valuable space, you might want to head to Harrods.

Because fashion label Vetements is curating a window at the Knightsbridge store, and it’s going to be made up of old clothes.

Vetements is known for subverting the fashion industry’s way of doing things and from today, it’s going to cause chaos at Harrods.

Designer Demna Gvasalia did a similar thing at New York department store Saks’ last July and as he did then, he’s now asking both employees and members of the public to donate old clothes to become part of the display.

Here’s how to keep calm and enjoy your wedding day (Picture: Irene Palacio for Metro.co.uk)

Getting ‘cold feet’ or jitters on your wedding day doesn’t – contrary to many films and TV shows – lead automatically to someone getting left at the altar.

Jitters are perfectly normal, and if you don’t feel at least some nerves on the morning of your wedding then you might just be some sort of robot.

Kylie Jenner (Picture: WireImage)

There are lots of reasons that Kylie Jenner might have chosen to keep her pregnancy private.

The spotlight on her older sister Kim during her weight gain must have been a worry. The media circus around her sister-in-law Blac Chyna’s pregnancy couldn’t have looked like much fun. But first and foremost, I imagine she was keen to avoid the snarky, patronising, judgmental comments about her age.

Despite the fact that Kylie gave birth at the age of twenty, which is a physically safe time to have a child, the world was quick to start wagging its finger at her. She was technically a teen for some of her… Read the full story

Five men explain what happened when they saw their GP for their mental health

Suicide is the biggest cause of death for men under 35, with a staggering 12.5% of men in the UK suffering with a common mental health disorder.

Devastatingly, men are less likely to access psychological therapies then women. Only 36% of referrals in the UK are for men.

The bottom line is, men need more support for their mental health. We need to look at why men are struggling to speak out. In a recent article, I spoke to a number of men living with anxiety. A large portion of the men I spoke to had been too afraid to seek help thanks to the pressures of being a man. Men are being told again and again that they just need to ‘man up’ instead of asking for help.

However, there are men out there who have sought help for their mental health – and I spoke to a few, to find out how men’s mental health is being dealt with when… Read the full story

Sex is a pretty big deal.

It’s what connects two people in love (or in lust) together. That, and it’s also really bloody fun – as long as it’s totally consensual.

But what happens when you find yourself in the midst of adulthood and still a virgin?

Metro.co.uk spoke with 26-year-old James Conlon, who, despite turning 27 later this month, is still a virgin.

James says he chooses to be a virgin. It’s not something that bothers him.

He said: ‘I haven’t had sex, I believe it is a choice, I could walk outside and meet someone and things progress and it would happen.

Add beer to your afternoon tea for a fancy, boozy Valentine’s Day treat

Slowly but surely, people who arrange things are starting to realise that adding beer to anything makes it better.

Situations in which there’s no beer are, unquestionably, less enjoyable than ones in which beer is present.

Beerless scenarios are things like being at work, driving a car, attending the funeral of a loved one – unpleasant things to do.

Even if you are not a beer drinker, the presence of beer and entertainment value are nearly always correlated. They even let you drink during running races now, so fitness fanatics can get on board with this notion as well.

Jes Hogan’s birth didn’t exactly go to plan.

She gave birth in hospital, as intended. Except her baby didn’t pop out in a suite while she rested in bed, but in the hospital hallway, just a few steps from the entrance.

Max took a while to come out. After days of contractions, causing worries that Jes would need to be induced, Max chose his moment to emerge into the world. Jes and her husband, Travis, had to rush to the hospital, letting Karin, their birth photographer, know what was happening on the way.

‘I stayed awake contracting, yet again, until about 2 am,’ Jes remembers. ‘It was at that time that… Read the full story

Most teachers put naughty kids in detention.

26-year-old Chelsea Haley, however, has adopted her most troublesome student – and his baby brother too.

She began working with Teach America – a non-profit organisation that provides support to low-income schools (a bit like Teach First) in 2013, and she nearly quit her job thanks to 12-year-old Jerome Robinson.

Jerome had already been suspended numerous times for bad behaviour.

However, the pair quickly developed a bond, with Chelsea being the only teacher who could calm Jerome down.

At the end of her two-year stint, her school asking if she’d stay on for Jerome’s sake.

Away from school, Jerome lived in poverty with his baby brother grandparents, and… Read the full story

Veganism can be such a divisive topic.

There’s so much guilt around food as it is, without throwing a moral quandary into the mix.

Which is why food writer Ruby Tandoh has been slamming Made in Chelsea star and vegan queen Lucy Watson on Twitter.

Unlike most reality TV stars, Lucy devotes most of her time to advocating for animal welfare – whether that’s promoting faux fur, cruelty-free beauty or plant-based grub. Her social media channels act as aspirational platforms for vegan living.

So when she tweeted that ‘If you’re against animal cruelty, like most people, then you should be vegan,’ it was completely on-brand.

That tweet has garnered over 2,000 likes.

When Nicole Grimes spotted a pomeranian-poodle up for adoption on Facebook, she thought it looked familiar.

The dog reminded her of her childhood puppy, Chloe. So, she adopted the 11-year-old pooch ‘on a whim’.

When Nicole went to meet the dog, she found out that it too was called Chloe.

But it was no random coincidence.

‘When she was dropped off, she came running up to me and was licking my face,’ Nicole, who’s from Pennsylvania, tells the BBC.

‘Then I knew in my heart that she had to be the same dog.’

When Australian skier Jade Hameister gave a TEDx talk a few years ago, she was bombarded by trolls online.

She was explaining her journey towards the Polar Hat Trick (she’s the youngest person ever to traverse the North Pole, South Pole and Greenland ice sheet), in a bid to encourage other young women to follow their dreams.

Pretty epic for a teenager.

And yet, her accomplishments were met with a load of sexist remarks, such as ‘make me a sandwich’ (LOL, so original!).

So on 13 January this year…she did just that. At the South Pole.

The 16-year-old skied unassisted across the Greenland icecap – completing the second part of the hat trick.
