We don’t know about you, but when we play Monopoly, it tends to end with someone tipping up the board, followed by resurfacing of old wounds, and a couple of hours spent sulking in the corner.

Welcome to family fight night.

But, this couple’s game of Chance and Community Chest had a much, much happier ending.

Justin, aka Redditor justinlebon26, posted pictures of his epic Monopoly board proposal to girlfriend Michal on Imgur over the weekend and the old-school romantic has the whole internet swooning.

Lucas Levitan loves to add little finishing touches to strangers’ Instagram photos.

With his Photo Invasion project, the London-based illustrator introduces adorable little cartoon people into strangers’ arty, posed shots. With his gang of subversive little soldiers, he turns our Instagram cliches and mundane, every day images completely on their head.

His work is so popular, he’s even launched the Photo Invasion iPhone app so you can invade your own – and friends’ – Instagram pics.

Because, let’s face it, the world already has more than enough pictures of footprints on the beach and yoga bunnies doing the downward dog.

Everyone works really hard, all the time (Picture: Getty)

Working in an office always comes with its pros and cons, but working in a healthcare setting is a whole different ball game.

From grumpy patients to infuriating legislation and processes – admin staff have to contend with a lot more than your average paper-pusher, and that’s before we even get on to the pay.

Here’s 13 things you only know if you’ve worked in a doctor’s surgery.

1. The NHS needs a nationalised computer system

As barmy as it sounds, different computer systems are used up and down the country.

Whenever a patient moves to a new GP practice or hospital, notes have to be manually transferred.

2. If you suffer from any kind of orthopaedic pain, you’ll need to see a physiotherapist before… Read the full story

Everyone seems to think that being the middle child is the worst. Not quite number one but not young enough to be the baby of the family, either.

And yeah, some aspects of being the middle child suck, sometimes the youngest, too.

But there’s nothing quite as awful as being the eldest. The one that’s supposed to be there to set a good example, but is still searching for what exactly that example is themselves.

Here are 11 things you’ll only know if you’re the eldest sibling.

1. Your parents are consistently using you as an example of ‘what not to do’ to your younger siblings.

Launched by relationship website eHarmony.co.uk, the second annual Love Captured photography contest asked the nation to submit photographs demonstrating what the word 'love' means to them. This little boy waiting at the door with his dog for Granddad to come home from work is the picture of unconditional love. Quite literally.

The touching photo, entitled ‘Waiting for Grandpa’, was taken by Liverpool-based photographer Sebastian Czubachowski of his little nephew Kajetan and his dog Foxi as they patiently waited for the return of Granddad.

The shape of Granddad’s building can just be made out in the distance through the window.

2015 has pretty much been the year of the eyebrow, with Cara Delevingne as queen of the scene.

But for people that excessively overplucked their eyebrows when they were younger and who now depend on their trustworthy eyebrow pencil to even get a set of eyebrows, it’s kinda hard to achieve that natural look.

Here’s 14 things you’ll only know if you ruined your eyebrows when you were young.

1. You dread the time when your other half sees you without make-up.

2. You’re forever wishing you listened when your mum told you to let her pluck them for you.

3. Swimming pools are a no-go.

4. Cara Delevingne makes you feel depressed. But she makes you feel like that for many other reasons anyway.

5. In fact, anyone with ‘real’ eyebrows is worthy of your sadness.

6. Losing your eyebrow pencil is your worst nightmare.

Choon Tan may be just 4ft 10in but he is already making a name for himself in the bodybuilding world.

Choon, 21, studies entrepreneurial business management at Northumbria university and works as an events manager in Newcastle – and he’s also Britain’s smallest competitive bodybuilder.

Choon found out he had a genetic birth defect – known as x-linked spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia tarda – when he was a child.

His condition, which occurs almost exclusively in males, impairs bone growth and can cause pain and other physical complications.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk he said: ‘Finding out that I had a genetic defect and that I would not be the same as everyone else confused me as a child.

Urban Myths Illustrations Illustration by Liberty Antonia Sadler for metro.co.uk

Urban legends are stories that didn’t really happen, but they have amazing staying power.

Some of these myths have been circulating for tens or even hundreds of years, even though they’re complete nonsense.

Here are 16 urban myths that just won’t die.

1. The alligators in New York’s sewers

This legend dates back to the 1930s and is based on some very dubious claims indeed.

The stories goes that baby alligators brought back as pets from Florida were dumped down the loo and, naturally, ended up growing into giant beasts marauding through the sewers.

Despite the fact no sewer worker has ever seen one, many people are still convinced.

2. The pop star and the semen… Read the full story

With friends like these….

To be fair, Singapore blogger Juli ‘Bun Bun’ did preface her no-holds-barred live blog of a couple’s wedding over the weekend with the caveat: ‘Today is the wedding of my husband [Mr Mode’s] good friend. I don’t know the bride at all nor am I close to the groom.’

So, perhaps ‘friend’ is pushing it. The forthright blogger also pointed out that the couple didn’t read her blog and she wouldn’t reveal their identities, so there’s that.

But, it’s a brave bride who invites Juli to her future nuptials after she proceeded to give a detailed critique of the couple’s big day on her blog.

Gary Yourofsky is a name that will ring a bell with most vegans.

The animal rights activist, from Detroit, Michigan, is credited with singlehandedly turned more people vegan – including 8% of Israel – than anyone else in the world, after an hour-long speech he gave at Georgia Tech was recorded, translated into Hebrew, and shared on social media.

In it Gary, 45, who is Jewish himself, controversially calls slaughterhouses ‘concentration camps’ and compares the treatment of animals to the Holocaust.

The speech, which was recorded in the U.S., is now the most-viewed in Israel’s history, and is thought to have been the cataylst for a large portion of Israel’s population to go vegan.

Indeed, according to Israeli media, Yourofsky… Read the full story

Napping

Are you a spooner or a nuzzler?

According to LittleThings.com, who spoke to body language experts and relationship psychologists with more than 30 years experience in the field, the position you prefer to sleep in with a partner speaks volumes about the state of your relationship.

In short, because we allow our subconscious to take over, our body language in slumber reveals what we can’t, or won’t, say when we’re awake.

Here’s what it all means *sleeps with one eye open*.

Growing up you’ll have a million and one friends that’ll all at one point or another be your ‘best friend’. Or at least one of. But how many of those are actually by our side in a time of need? And how many of them only turn up when they’re the one in need?

There’s a few ways to tell if your mate’s a mate for life.

They care about your problems as much as their own

They’re not the type of friend to spend all day talking about how their boyfriend liked their ex girlfriend’s photo and then completely change the subject when you open up about your own problems.

Google Doodle

In celebration of the announcement by scientists that flowing water is almost definitely present on the surface of Mars, today’s Google Doodle shows Mars enjoying a large glass of the stuff.

And looking pretty damn cute about it if we’re honest.

Nasa said last week that there had been a ‘major science finding’ on the Red Planet and a ‘mystery had been solved’.

And yesterday, they revealed that long, dark streaks found on the Martian terrain are most likely explained by the presence of flowing water on the surface.

This discovery raises the chances of Mars being home to some form of life.

‘Mars is not the dry, arid planet that we thought of in the past,’ said Nasa’s Jim Green. ‘Liquid water has been found on Mars.’

Speaking to the Guardian, lead scientist on Nasa’s Mars explanation programme Michael Meyer added: ‘There is liquid water on the surface of Mars. Because… Read the full story

The most important, truthful things you should know about bulimia nervosa

There’s a lot of misconception around eating disorders and the noticing of signs or symptoms of one. Bulimia nervosa is one disorder that is frequently misinterpreted, especially within the film industry.

You often see actresses playing the role of someone who suffers with bulimia, but I feel they don’t portray all aspects of the disorder.

Often the actresses are extremely thin and exercise freaks; women who control every aspect of their life and feel the need to also control their food. Women who are seen to be throwing up after every plate of food – if they are ever actually eating a plate of food – and women who choose to live off a couple of nuts a day.

I can’t help but feel the film… Read the full story

He simply tweeted a picture of his new game with the message ‘Bye Danni’.

To which Danni had the perfect response.

She replied with an equally simple screenshot of her latest purchase with the message ‘Bye Brad’.

Twisted Twee – the people who have previously brought us joys such as the David Cameron, Nigel Farage, Maggie Thatcher and Nick Clegg knicker, have brought their political pants game bang up to date with their latest undies; the Jeremy Corbyn pant.

The new pants – which are only currently available as men’s pants (why Twisted Twee? Why?) – feature a massive picture of Jezza ‘Looking about as well-kempt as he knows how’.

Just a few months ago Jeremy Corbyn was in the political wilderness… and now he has his face on a range of men’s Y-fronts. It just goes to show kids, if you believe, you can achieve. Inspiring.

We want one #sorrynotsorry (Picture: Keurig)

Keurig, the company known for their single-cup coffee machines, has invented the Soda Stream 2.0.

Their new gadget Keurig Kold lets you turn water into Coca Cola (or Sprite, or Dr Pepper), using special pods, at the touch of a button.

Yeah, we know, there are cans for that. But, for some strange reason, we still want one.

The Keurig Kold is different from the classic Soda Stream because it doesn’t need a CO2 canister, the drinks are delivered ice cold, and they’ve partnered with the big names so you can have actual Coca Cola (or Diet Coke if that’s your thing) at the push of a button.

Brittany’s stepdad can be seen overcome with emotion as Todd pulls him forward. We told you it was a tearjerker.
