A Sunday lunch down the pub has always be a tradition but now Wetherspoons seems to have locked down the market on breakfast.

For those of us who don’t want to spend £40 on some avocado toast (since it’s the only thing keeping us off the property ladder) Wetherspoon’s Sunday brunch options have plenty of hearty fare to tuck into without breaking the bank.

And their brekkies are proving most popular with punters around the UK.

If you’ve not been chowing down on some delicious halloumi, where on earth have you been?

Nando’s has got halloumi fries launching on the menu, and last year London even had a halloumi pop up featuring an ice cream made of the delicacy.

The Cypriot cheese seems to have made a huge comeback recently, much like the avocado – and we’re not complaining.

‘Post-natal depression is so different for every person – it can come at different stages post-birth.

‘Actually some people get it pre-natally as well. But mine actually hit me the instant the baby had come out.

‘Literally as soon as she was born I burst into tears, it was really weird.

‘It was a perfectly alright water birth, it wasn’t traumatic, but obviously I’d never had a baby before. So I kind of thought “maybe this is just what happens”.

‘Two weeks later I was still crying.’

Author and blogger Emily-Jane Clark joined us on our podcast to talk post-natal depression.

Although her health visitor and others suggested she was suffering from the condition, it took her a while to accept it.

She said: ‘I just didn’t have a clue, I refused to believe I had post-natal depression. I just genuinely believed I was rubbish at looking after babies.’

Emily-Jane talked about becoming very anxious about carrying her daughter down the… Read the full story

How inflammatory bowel disease ruined my body confidence

The impact of IBD can go far beyond the physical (Picture: Liberty Antonia Sadler for Metro.co.uk)

I have blogged about many aspects of Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD): whether it’s hospital trips or surviving the dreaded colonoscopies.

But it’s time to dig a little bit deeper and talk about how body image is affected by the condition.

I don’t wish to paint an unnecessary, negative depiction of IBD: indeed, we shouldn’t expect special treatment with IBD.

We should, however, highlight how the impact of IBD can go far beyond the physical.

Unfortunately, for many of us, the disease can impact hugely on our body image.

Who cares about appearance?

I don’t… Read the full story

The first ever non-stop flight between the UK and Australia has landed at Heathrow.

Touching down this morning at around 5am, the Qantas Airways flight from Perth to London is the first to do the 9,000-mile trip without breaking.

It’s supposed to take around 17 hours to complete, depending on the winds – three hours quicker than the existing Australia-UK flight which includes a stopover in the Middle East.

The return trip from Heathrow to Perth is due to set off this afternoon at 1.15pm.

Now, that might not sound a big deal but flying non-stop for 1.5 days is pretty mindboggling – so much so that one… Read the full story

Remember when KFC launched its Double Down in the UK and everyone lost their minds?

The promise of a double dose of fried chicken with a smothering of cheese and sauce was just too much for chicken fiends to handle.

Now, the Colonel has launched a new kind of Double Downer – this time bringing back some good old carbs to the mix.

The KFC Waffle Double Down is the American breakfast of champions.

When it comes to food, few are more proud or precious about their cuisine than the French.

Paris is the natural epicentre of continental dining.

But it’s now also home to a restaurant which is selling traditional British food – and it’s a massive hit with the locals.

L’Entente is the city’s first ever British brasserie and it only serves up traditional British dishes like shepherd’s pie, Scotch eggs and fry-ups.

It’s the brainchild of Oliver Woodhead, who’s been living in Paris for the past 20 years.

‘So many people are telling me they are pleasantly surprised,’ he tells The Telegraph.

Those are the words of the LA-based photographer and flower arranging genius behind Bloom and Plume, a website and Instagram account dedicated to black beauty.

Maurice Harris pairs incredible floral arrangements with portraits of black people in a celebration of melanin in all its natural glory.

You might remember Sara as the artist who Photoshopped glittery stripes onto stretch marks – turning ‘imperfections’ into things of beauty.

Now she’s back and she’s turned her attention to highlighting the beauty of fitness.

Teaming up with  Reebok, Sara’s been bedazzling the muscles of CrossFit athlete Jamie Grene.

We all know that faddy dieting is, on the whole, pretty ineffectual.

You fast like a madman for a month and then the moment you eat something with any nutritional value, the weight returns – and more besides.

It’s not just us normos who fall for the snake oil promises of dieting companies – models and celebs have all been there too.

Iskra Lawrence, body positivity campaigner and model, has been speaking out about the harmful psychological and physical effects of extreme dieting.

As a young girl aspiring to be a model, Iskra says she found herself constantly chasing unattainable body standards.

Photo Series Illustrates The Turmoil Of Mass Incarceration On Black Men
(Picture: Zarita Zevallos)

It’s long been known that black men in America are among the most vilified communities on the planet.

Currently, 1 in every 15 African American men is incarcerated, compared to 1 in 106 white men in the country; 37% of Americans is black, despite black people making up just 10% of the overall population.

The extent of the damage this is doing to black communities is indescribable – the expectation of incarceration not only leads to broken homes but splintered futures and expectations.

Often images are easier than words when it comes to exploring and discussing tragic situations, which is why Zarita… Read the full story

Some hotels need gimmicks to lure in customers.

This one, probably, won’t have a hard time attracting the braver and daring among us.

That’s because The Hollow Hotel is purposely designed to replicate how 19th-century serial killer H. H. Holmes murdered his victims – in hotel rooms, complete with inescapable labyrinths and traps.

So if you don’t mind a few booby traps set up to kill you (or at least make you sh*t your pants) then this might be right up your street.

The interactive psychological horror is made to immerse audiences into the creepy world of the Jack The Ripper style killer, who was said to have claimed… Read the full story

It’s fine not to have a fetish (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

There have been times when friends, family and random strangers will ask why I don’t just write about ‘normal sex’.

I’d love to. Believe me, I enjoy it as much as the next person.

It might save that awkward moment on the phone when I have to explain I must dash off in order to finish a blog about small penis humiliation, or have to leave a coffee date because I’ve had a great idea about foot fetishists.

I went on a date recently and had to awkwardly explain what I did for a living.

The reply was a… Read the full story

Just in case you haven’t realised, the clocks have now officially gone forward by one hour for the start of British Summer Time (BST), and you may now be late.

When do the clocks go forward and why?

Contrary to popular belief, the change in time has nothing to do with farmers.

The idea actually originated from Benjamin Franklin, who gave it a cheeky mention in an essay he wrote in 1784; it was then picked up in Britain thanks to a builder named… Read the full story

Bees are in deep, deep trouble.

If you’ve watched Bee Movie, you’ll know how precious the bee kingdom is to keeping the eco-system ticking along. The more we build on and destroy rural areas, however, the more bee communities we ruin.

Bees are said to be responsible for keeping around 90% of all wild plants in existence – so wiping them out could have absolutely disastrous consequences.

Saatchi & Saatchi IS Warsaw, however, thinks its come up with a possible solution.

It’s teamed up with City Bees, a group of British beekeepers who encourage urban communities to look after and house more bees.

Together, they’ve come up with the world’s first ‘Bee Saving Paper’.

Bubble butts are the fitness accessory that everyone wants these days.

Why? Because they speak of endless squatting, lunging – strong, powerful glutes and hamstrings.

But bum shape varies from person to person; if you’re an ectomorph, you could squat until the cows come home and you’ll never get much shape.

Yet on Instagram, every influencer seems to have a round arse. And that’s because they’re pros at posing.

Trainer Anna Victoria has been trying to show her fans the difference between an ‘Instagram Booty’ and ‘Real Life Booty’ in a side-by-side comparison shot.

‘The one thing I was most insecure about growing up was my booty,’ she says.

‘I’ve always been smaller on… Read the full story
