It’s easy to assume that the super hot, toned models you see on Instagram have their body image related sh*t together.

But that’s not the case.

Take Bridget Malcolm, the Victoria’s Secret model who recently opened up about giving up dieting.

She’s written a powerful piece on her blog explaining that she’s struggled with body dysmorphia – when you see issues with your body that aren’t real – and apologising for the way she spoke about food and dieting when she was unhappy with her body.

Bridget explains that while she thought the attitudes and behaviours she was engaging in were healthy at the time, she now realises… Read the full story

I tried the menstrual cup you can wear during sex

I’m a loud proponent of period sex.

Doing it on the rag has a whole host of benefits, from shortening the length of your periods to easing cramps.

For the most part, I find the whole thing pretty easy. I pop down a towel, whip out my menstrual cup (I swapped after finding tampons were leaving me sore and dry), and we get down to business. Usually there’s less blood than I expect, it’s not too messy, and it’s a bloody good time.

But I understand that for lots of people period sex isn’t so simple.

Black wine is here to vamp up your post-work drinks

It might be spring but the nights are still bitterly cold and dark

And you know what dark nights call for? Dark wine. Very dark wine.

In fact, forget your Merlots and your Pinot Noirs – cherry-coloured reds just don’t go far enough anymore. No, what you need is black wine.

We’re not talking about some chemically blackened grape juice. Black wine is just very, very dark red wine which, once settled in a glass, looks completely opaque and inky.

Black wine tends to come from malbec or saperavi grapes grown in France or Georgia.

So, what does it taste like?

Narcolepsy isn’t a well-understood illness by the majority of people.

The answer is no, by the way.

Narcolepsy is a neurological sleep disorder that affects multiple areas of your life, but the main symptoms are the inability to achieve proper or… Read the full story

A constant stream of sick and a lethargic baby who wouldn’t take her bottle was certainly cause for concern (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

Allergies in life are common – fact.

In the UK, 44% of adults suffer from at least one allergy, with the number continuing to rise.

However, when your new-born child has an allergy, panic can set in for parents and guardians, and that’s exactly what happened with my partner and I recently.

The wailing, screaming, tears and tantrums that are the only way your child can express their discomfort left us anxiously scratching our heads as we tried to find a cause or solution.

My teenage daughter isn’t social media obsessed – and it’s down to my parenting

***ILLUSTRATION REQUEST*** Why friendship is so important when life gets difficult
Teens can spend a lot of time creating an illusory image online and waiting for ‘likes’ (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

There is one thing that separates my 16-year-old from every other teenager.

She barely uses social media, and doesn’t have her own accounts.

I blame her mother.

I think the reason Leah has resisted the pull of a wired life is because of my emotionally involved parenting.

I may be three decades older than my daughter, but there is virtually nothing we have not, and could not, discuss.

And I believe those years of conversation, and our ensuing connection, have created a home from… Read the full story

Imagine going into your garden one day and finding a pile of tiny kittens.

Wouldn’t that simply be the dream?

Well, that’s exactly what happened to Mike Shirley-Donnelly who took Twitter on an epic thread journey from zero-24 cats in just a few posts.

The story began at the start of March 2016, when he and his wife Delicaye found the ‘first batch of feral little balls of fluff’ in their backyard.

From that moment, their lives changed *forever*.

Easter is supposed to be a time when everyone kisses goodbye to the workplace for a bit.

But if you’re in need of medical care over the weekend, does that mean doctors won’t be in their surgery to see you?

What about if you need medication and you find you can’t immediately get it?

The truth of the matter is that your GP may well be closed over the four-day Easter weekend.

Inside the nerdy and uncomfortable world of wedgie fetishes

If there’s a thing, there’s probably porn about it.

When said thing involves yanking up someone’s underwear right into their genitals, that makes the transition to porn a little easier. It’s also a natural fit for an underground fetish community.

For most of us, wedgies are the reserve of nerdy childhoods and bullying brothers, intent on causing you pain and embarrassment by pulling your underwear up so it digs right in between your bum cheeks.

But for some, wedgies are a new realm of sexual thrill.

Wedgie fetishes have strong ties to the BDSM community, offering a form of domination over the person getting wedgied. It brings back feelings from teasing and bullying as a child, and wedgie fetish accounts will often involve teen roleplay and requests to be called a ‘nerd’.

For Martin, known as Bullied Nerd or @wedgievictim on his Twitter account dedicated to wedgies, wedgies became sexual when he was in his teens, after years of being bullied when he was much… Read the full story

When you go on holiday to countries like Egypt, Crypus or Greece, chances are that you want to take in a bit of local ancient history.

After all, these are the civilisations which made the world the way it is today.

So you trot along to sites of famous temples and monuments only to be confronted by a stack of ruins. Impressive, obviously, but hard to think of as cultural epicentres of great discussion, worship and sometimes sacrifice.

If only you could see what these amazing feats of architecture would have looked like a thousand years ago.

Well now, you can – kind of.

Bright coloured pantsuits are so Nasty Woman; fierce, professional and they mean business.

So it’s no surprise that the pink pantsuit is all the rage right now with bloggers, influencers, and celebrities.

It’s specifically the power suit by Australian label C/MEO Collective which has been doing the rounds, being spotted on everyone from Jesinta Franklin to Anna Heinrich.

But not everyone might be willing to fork out the designer label’s £311 ($438) price tag, so thankfully, there are other cheaper alternatives that look equally badass.

You can also get the bold and dramatic look from Boohoo, Asos, and Monki, H&M’s sister brand.
