16 annoying things that happen to your house when you have kids
(Picture: Liberty Antonia Sadler)

When you have children it doesn’t take long for your once tidy and organised home to become a mess.

Nothing is ever where you left it – except crap. Crap is always where you left it. You tidy up by shoving things in cupboards and you never seem to get around to that big ‘sort out’ you have been planning since you were pregnant.

Here are a few things you can expect to happen when your humble abode becomes a Family Home:

1. The Drawer of Random Crap

Usually found in the kitchen. Often turns into the Many Drawers of Random Crap. Commonly includes batteries, scratch cards with £1 of winnings on them,… Read the full story

Transavia’s reply, which poked fun at Nikita’s work, was branded ‘unprofessional’ on Twitter (Picture: Nikita Bellucci/Facebook)

French porn actress Nikita Bellucci was shocked when an airline responded to her tweet about a delayed flight with a ‘joke’ about her line of work.

Already annoyed by lack of information about her flight, Nikita tweeted Transavia – a subsidiary of Air France – earlier this week asking if they had any information about the delays.

She asked: ‘Is it possible to have information on the flight TO3743? Cancelled four times since this morning @ and there’s no information in Budapest.

Here’s a very good reason you shouldn’t do those jumping photos at weddings

Don’t jump. (Picture: Imgur/charlesstudio.com)

‘It’ll be fun,’ they say. ‘Everyone jump on three, and look happy.’

We’ve all been peer-pressured into doing a classic jumping photo, in spite of the knowledge that we’ll look like a total idiot and may risk serious physical injury.

But as this haunting set of photos shows, jumping photos are truly an awful, terrible plague on our society. Never do a jumping photo. Unless you are prepared for its devastating effects.

Redditor buttscratcha – real name Lee Mora – just shared the story of when he was swayed into doing a jump shot at a wedding. He did it. He jumped, and did a cool soles-of-the-feet-together pose. Boss.

Good luck getting to sleep (Picture: Get Laid Beds)

On the one hand, you could totally freak people out by re-enacting that scene from The Exorcist.

On the other, getting to sleep might be tricky.

Introducing the world’s first glow in the dark wooden bed, courtesy of Get Laid Beds.

According to the website, ‘nothing will compare when the bed illuminates your bedroom, and the fun you will no doubt have from sleeping on the Glow In The Dark Bed will be endless.’

Endless.

Although the bed is described as ‘perfect for kids’ – it acts like a giant night-light to ward off monsters – you can also get one for adults.

Here’s how to stop wasting your workout by only doing half press-ups

Contrary to popular belief, being a girl does not mean you’re too weak to do a full press-up.

The notion that the ‘girl press-up’, aka the modified press-up or the half press-up/push-up, is the only option available to women is as misguided as its name.

So, if you’re still doing half press-ups but you’ve been working out semi-regularly for even just a few weeks, it’s time to start trying to do full press-ups.

Even if you can only do one.

Even if you try to do one and you collapse halfway through.

Just keep trying until you manage it.

There’s no reason to continue doing press-ups on your knees.

You should always be building up your exercises and… Read the full story

We spend so much time, thought and energy trying to be happy all the time.

Meditating, counselling, self-help books and more. It’s not necessarily bad or counter-productive, but sometimes it’s okay not to be happy.

Sometimes feeling melancholy is okay.

The word ‘melancholy’ puts its finger on a particular species of sadness, which isn’t an illness or even a problem: it’s part of being human.

Sometimes, savouring that particular breed of sorrow is a good thing. It means you are wise, aware and present.

Here’s why The School of Life’s philosophers, therapists and psychologists argue melancholy is an underrated state.

Born to a feral mother, Cassidy lost both his back legs at birth, yet miraculously managed to survive in the woods for nine weeks before being rescued by Canadian animal charity Tiny Kittens.

Writing on their Youtube page, Tiny Kittens said: ‘His little body had just about given out from starvation and infection by the time we rescued him, but he never gave up!’

Because no costume will win you friends and ‘best costume of the year’ awards like a genuinely haunting paper maché mask when everyone else is dressed like sexy animals.

Why are you taunting me with your questions?! (Picture: Getty)

Making decisions is hard. Fact.

It’s not that you don’t want to be able to decide something, and stick to it, honestly you really do. But sadly things don’t always work out this way.

Instead of being one of those cool folks that can pretty much decide on something within seconds, it’s an entirely different process for you. One that involves lists, asking everyone you know for advice, and sometimes even flipping a coin.

1. ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ doesn’t exist

There is no such thing as a simple yes or no decision in any topic of discussion. Instead you stick to phrases such as ‘erm’, ‘let me think about it’, ‘give me five minutes’ and ‘I’ll let you know’.

Nikki Black is very proud of the tattoos that allowed her to take back control of her body after a double mastectomy to beat breast cancer at just 23-years-old.

The LA-based comedian, now 25 and in remission, says the designs helped her ‘feel whole again’ after multiple surgeries and gruelling chemo sessions.

‘For me, the tattoos were really about reclaiming my body as my own,’ Nikki told Metro.co.uk. ‘In addition to the multiple surgeries and losing feeling in your chest, you get cut open so many times in so many ways, and I wanted to feel whole again.’

Nikki was devastated when she received the life-changing diagnosis… Read the full story

Sometimes friendship comes from the unlikeliest of places.

Guerreirinho (meaning Little Warrior) the donkey passed away this week, after he was hit by a car and left for dead on the side of the road last month.

But the donkey saw out his last days with the support of a new friend: a stray white puppy.

Guerreirinho was found laying on the side of the road by Stefanie Rodrigues and Zenith Gurgel, who frequently care for injured or abandoned animals they find in the area.

If you haven’t noticed by now, whenever Donald Trump says something ridiculously controversial someone will inevitably find a brilliant way to take the p*ss.

There was that time an artist painted a portrait of Trump using her menstrual blood, because Trump suggested a female journalist would only have asked him tough questions because it was her time of the month.

And who could forget the brilliant #TrumpYourCat response to Trump announcing he was running for President?

Now, in news that, uh, trumps all the rest, someone has created a blow-up doll of Trump – and you can buy one of your very own.

In the middle of the bustle of King’s Cross is a place of refuge for people with HIV and it’s called The Food Chain.

It’s a small charity that’s making a huge impact in the lives of people living with HIV through the most basic of human needs – food.

There have been huge advances in medicine in the last 30 years since the virus was first recorded, but people are often unaware about the vital role nutrition plays in helping fight the virus.

Antiretroviral drugs can control HIV infection but, without food and nutrients, the immune system cannot rebuild itself or protect itself from infections, weight loss and muscle wasting.

Mary’s friends say she’s a real life wonder woman (Picture: ABC)

Wonderful.

This week, Mary Cotter celebrated turning 103 by dressing up as her favourite superhero and volunteering at the Montclair Senior Center, something she’s been doing for 25 years.

She’s a real-life Wonder Woman. And now she’s got the T-shirt to prove it.

Mary’s special birthday suit was a gift from her friends at the center, where she’s been serving up coffee, tea and water as a volunteer for over two decades.

‘They call me the barmaid because I’m serving drinks,’ she told ABC7 News.

The energetic centenarian still lives alone and drives to and from the center five days a week – whatever the weather.

Asked to share her secret to long life and good health, Mary says: ‘Just… Read the full story

For when you think the bread bit of a cheese toastie is a devastating waste of potential.

Food blogger Dude Foods has done what we previously thought of as unthinkable. Like a cheese-fuelled madman, he has combined deep frying, mac’n’cheese, and the humble cheese toastie into one sensual package.

Presenting what Dude Foods calls the Macaroni and Cheese Grilled Cheese.

It’s fairly easy to make, if a little messy. Which could be very, very dangerous if, like us, you’re already battling the temptation to eat this for every meal.

Cheeky.

An Italian court has ruled that workers are entitled to watch porn on their lunch breaks and should not be fired for doing so.

The verdict comes after Fiat attempted to sack an employee at their factory in Palermo after he was caught watching X-rated films during working hours.

However according to Italian news site The Local, the man claimed that his porn viewing was limited to just ‘catching a glimpse’ during his lunch break and did not effect his work, and now Italy’s highest court – the Court of Cassation – have ruled that watching porn on your breaks is not a sackable offense.

There are a few things that are just better left unsaid.

Especially if you’re planning to say something that’s blatantly going to offend your other half. I wouldn’t point out the fact that you obviously haven’t showered in a few days, so why do you need to point out that maybe my jeans are just a little bit too tight today?

Here’s 15 things girls never want to hear their boyfriends say:

1. We need to talk

No. Just no. This is the absolute worst. Just say what you’re thinking straight out, the waiting game for what could potentially be horrible news is the worst thing you can do to a girl. Especially if you’re an over-thinker!

A sprightly centenarian says a vegan lifestyle is the secret to his sharp mind and incredible health at 101 years old.

Dr Ellsworth Wareham worked as a heart surgeon until he retired just five years ago.

But he’s yet to give up his driving license as he’s still feeling quite comfortable behind a wheel.

‘I don’t have any trouble with my joints, my hands are steady, my balance is good, I don’t have to walk with a cane,’ he told CCTV America.

He said he has ‘never cared for animal products,’ and becoming vegan was ‘a very easy thing.’

Maybe, it’s you.

And now, thanks to a new project from Action For Happiness and the Dalai Lama, people in the UK will soon be able to enrol.

They’re hoping to raise £100,000 by October 25th to be able to send as many Brits as possible on the secular, science-based course called Exploring What Matters.
