Netflix down.

Thousands of chill sessions ground to a sad, buffering halt last night as Netflix went down for a full 90 minutes.

As millennials wept into their laptops and desperately asked their parents to recommend a D-list romantic comedy to watch, Netflix struggled to fix an internal server issue, which also took down Expedia.

After an hour and a half, Netflix was back up and running. Which was just long enough of a lapse in movie-watching services to let the internet descend into total meltdown.

We guess you could say… Read the full story

Mum Victoria Doyle has paid tribute to the children she lost in pregnancy with a touching family photo.

Victoria, a Warwickshire-based newborn photographer, suffered nine miscarriages before giving birth to her three children: Darcy, 8, Jenson, 5, and Blake, 2.

To commemorate her loss, and to raise awareness of miscarriage during Baby Loss Awareness Week (October 9 – 15), she posted a family picture on her Facebook page, to which she had added the silhouette of the child she lost nine years ago.

‘In April 2006 I first experienced the pain… Read the full story

Inspirational, really. (Picture: Instagram/@robtheoriginal)

While people are paying homage to Donald Trump with blow-up dolls and sad cats, Hillary Clinton is lucky enough to have a genuine super-fan.

One 70-year-old woman named Maria Anita Monsivaiz loves Hillz so much, she decided to dedicate a prime bit of advertising real estate to promoting her idol.

Meaning she had a portrait of Hillary Clinton shaved into her hair. Obvs.

This is what political engagement looks like, people. Does anyone have David Cameron shaved into their hair? We think not.

Five year old birthday party
(Picture: Getty)

Five-year-olds are smart, funny… and completely terrifying.

Here are a few things you’ll understand if you have one:

1. School changes your child

You drop off an adorable four-year-old in a cute over-sized school uniform and come home with someone who is obsessed with poo jokes and hitting you around the head repeatedly with a toilet roll lightsaber.

2. The horror of birthday parties

What exactly should a Frozen party involve and is this better or worse than entertaining 20 sugar-charged boys in a contained space for two hours?

3. Playdates are hard work

Your child’s friends seem polite and sensible. Yet at your house they tip out all the Lego and ask you to wipe their bum.

4. Their pictures are actually good

Less than an actual bus fare.

You, yes you, could rent a room in this London house for just £1 a month. For real.

The ‘large clean double room’ is in a five-bedroom house in Stratford, East London, and comes with shared use of the kitchen, bathroom, living room and garden.

So far, so good, right?

But there’s a catch. Because, of course.

The room is being offered for this utterly bargainous rock-bottom price in exchange for your skills as a… Read the full story

Lincolnshire – I’m proud to have called it my home for more than 35 years.

Like most parts of the country it has its own characteristics and quirks, some of which you’ll only understand if you actually grew up there, like these:

1. It’s not all flat

Contrary to popular belief Lincolnshire is not entirely flat – in fact its first city is set on a rather large, steep hill.

The fenlands in the south on the other hand, well, yes, they’re as flat as a pancake.

2. Not everyone lives on a farm

Again contrary to popular belief not everyone in Lincolnshire lives on a farm. Although vast parts of the county are rural, with more farmers per head than many other places, there are still plenty… Read the full story

No big deal, just wasting two hours of our day on pointless sleep (Picture: Alamy)

Everything we’ve been told is a lie. Sort of.

A new study from the University of California has revealed that actually, we probably don’t need eight hours of sleep every night to be our best selves.

Scientists studied the sleeping habits of people on a more natural sleeping schedule, free of all the bits of modern life that might be disrupting how much sleep we feel we need.

They studied people of The San, of Namibia, the Hadza, of Tanzania and the Tsimane, of Bolivia, strapping sleep-analysing onto their wrists to measure time spent sleeping.

The majority of the people studied slept for less than seven hours a night. The… Read the full story

When it’s real love, getting trapped in a lift won’t stop the party.

Liz Copeland and Harry Stein got married this week, with all their friends and family around them.

But before they could tie the knot they had to walk down the aisle, which involved getting an elevator before making their way across the street for the ceremony.

Which would have been fine. Except the lift stopped moving, and Liz, Harry, and their whole wedding party were all trapped in a cramped metal box.

Even the Rabbi.

Proof that you can do the stuff everyone thinks is impossible.

Lauren Watson, a 34-year-old from Queensland, Australia, was left paralysed from the waist down in a car accident when she was 19.

Her spinal injuries resulted in what’s called incomplete paraplegia, meaning she lost most of the sensory and motor function in both of her legs.

She ended up in a wheelchair, and began a lengthy ten year process of physical therapy and re-learning how to do all the daily tasks she took for granted before.

Come to me, my love (Photo: Benjamin Jopen/Flickr)

Can you think of anything better and more satisfying than takeaways? Didn’t think so.

And our national love for eating in is only growing. Domino’s has just recently reported a 19 per cent increase in pizza sales since this time last year.

So what is it about a Chinese, curry or cheeky Nando’s delivery that gives us a hankering? Here’s why eating in is just so much better than eating out.

1) You don’t have to leave your home

Food brought to your door. It’s ideal laziness.

2) Nor make an effort

Or put on make up or dress up. Or even put on clothes at all, if that’s how you roll. Chicken in bed? Yes please.

We’ve had an emotional few weeks of walking down the aisle.

First we had the father of the bride who stopped the wedding to take his daughter’s stepdad’s hand. Then we found out all the stuff grooms think when they see their wife-to-be heading towards them on the big day. It’s been intense, guys.

This week’s wedding moment to make you get a bit teary-eyed comes from Ralph Duquette, a leukemia survivor whose disease has left him in a wheelchair.

According to Love Meow, the little kitten was abandoned when she was just five months old.

They also happened to live with five male ferrets at the time, who welcomed Komari with open arms.

And now Komari is totally part of the gang it is insanely cute.

The wet. The beer. This is how we know we’re home (Credit: Getty/Metro)

Being British is a serious business. Full of tea-drinking, queuing and emotional repression.

Our national pride is at its lowest, according to social research firm NatCen.

But if high turnout for Royal events occasions and the intense emotion caused by the 2015 Rugby World Cup defeat show anything, it’s that being proud of our nation still matters to us in some ways.

But how much of a true Brit are you really?
