One minute you’re exchanging flirty messages with the cute girl you met at your Gourmet Cooking course, and the next she turns mysteriously cold and says she has to go, it’s getting late.

Uh-oh.

It’s clear that the conversation took a wrong turn somewhere between discussing the bouillabaisse and the ragout – but you’re baffled. Where did you f*ck up?

Unfortunately, this is all too common in the age of texting, where we don’t have tone of voice to convey context. How can you up your texting game without accidentally offending her or turning her off?

Don’t get sexual too early

Rookie mistake. Nothing kills a playful text vibe… Read the full story

The Toblerone tunnel is the new body trend to make you feel rubbish about yourself

Oh, ‘body trends’. The delightful way we’re encouraged to swiftly change our bodies to attain unreasonable ideals of beauty.

Unlike makeup trends and fashion trends, body trends aren’t things you can pick up and change with the season.

Body trends focus on, well, your body, giving it a whole new set of rules to follow to be deemed socially acceptable.

We’ve had thigh gaps, thighbrows, and hip cleavage.

Now the Toblerone tunnel is the call of the day.

The Toblerone tunnel refers to the little triangle of space between someone’s upper thighs. It’s a classic body trend, as it’s not something that’s easily achieved – you’ll need… Read the full story

For some, polyamory is very fulfilling (Picture: Irene Palacio for Metro.co.uk)

I leaned over to my lover from Norway and kissed him on the lips. Then I leaned over to my husband and did the same. Both smiled at me lovingly.

The three of us were attending a tantra weekend retreat.

Polyamory, non-monogamy and swinging – what are they and are they right for you?

‘How are you doing?’, asked my lover. ‘Which one of us would you like to do the next exercise in pairs with? Or one of the other guys in the group perhaps?’ asked my husband John.

sephora launches makeup classes for trans people

Heading into a makeup store can be intimidating.

There’s a lot of choice, a load of complex product names to sort through, and that lingering worry that you’re doing it all completely wrong.

That intimidation gets ramped up quite a bit when you’re trans, and are taking the step into publicly wearing makeup for the first-time.

That’s why it’s so brilliant that Sephora now offers free makeup classes specifically for transgender people.

As part of their Classes for Confidence courses (which also include classes for those with cancer and those returning to work), Sephora is launching a Bold Beauty for the Transgender Community class.

Cutting back on meat and trying to follow a vegetable-rich diet could be the key to battling obesity, a new study suggests.

Rather than going the whole hog, researchers now believe that you don’t have to be fully vegetarian or vegan to cut the risk of becoming overweight – simply reducing your meat consumption will do.

‘Our study suggests that a more plant-based and less animal-based diet beyond strict adherence to vegan or vegetarian diets may be beneficial for preventing overweight or obesity in middle-aged and elderly populations,’ lead author Zhangling Chen says.

Researchers from Erasmuc MC Rotterdam in the Netherlands say that following a more… Read the full story

If you want a great view of London, go on a zip wire 35 metres above the ground

London is a city best viewed from above, away from black cab pollution and litter.

And you don’t get much higher than whizzing through the sky on the world’s fastest city zipline.

Situated in a park in Waterloo, Zip Now London promises bird-eye views of the houses of parliament, Big Ben, the MI6 building, the London Eye – basically, the who’s who of London tourism.

And unless you’ve got access to a helicopter, you’re never going to see all these buildings from this height and from this point of view (the Shard is too high, the Sky Garden is too far into the City).

So naturally, we… Read the full story

Ever wondered what goes on inside the mind of a f***boy?

When you’re dating one, it can be close to impossible to know where you stand or what they’re thinking.

Why do they only want sex?

Don’t they feel like they’re using people?

How come they never seem to get feelings?

Having tortured myself in the past wondering how they can be so cold, I decided to speak to two self-confessed f**kboys and one f**kgirl to find out what goes on in their minds.

Tattoo artist Bev Stimpson was 13 weeks and five days pregnant when she was told her baby’s heart had stopped beating.

She miscarried the child two days later.

To honour the child she never got to meet, Bev decided to get a tattoo of her child’s 12-week scan on her left arm.

The design, created by Bev’s colleague Zoe Padmore at Brothers in Arts studio in Wickford, Essex, shows the scan of Bev’s lost child in a heart, with the words: ‘Too beautiful for Earth.’

Bev, who has three other children, said: ‘It meant I would never forget my baby.

‘I felt like I just needed something on me. I was… Read the full story

Fancy a cuddle? (Picture: Getty)

There’s nothing more restorative than a good cuddle.

Whether it’s hippies hugging trees to connect to the earth or people paying for hugging therapy, sometimes we just need physical contact.

But how about cuddling a cow?

Mountain Horse Farm in upstate New York is offering a ‘Horse & Cow Experience’, which promises to give farm-animal enthusiasts the chance to ‘bring relaxation, healing and awareness about (their) body language’ via ‘cow cuddling’.

It also promotes ‘comfort, mindfulness, builds assertiveness, helps with overcoming fear, builds confidence, lets you be playful and teaches you to set boundaries’.

The farm claims that cows are genuinely great cuddle buddies thanks… Read the full story

Shunga: What is this risqué Japenese erotic art really about?

This is a two page frontispiece from an album of shunga designs. Shunga means "spring pictures," spring being a euphemism for sex. An elegantly dressed young couple on a veranda overlooking a garden begin to explore. An album of this sort would traditionally have consisted of twelve double-spreads, and the pictures after this frontispiece would have been quite graphic. Meet the women proving fat girls can dance

Body positivity as we now know it, proud rolls, #effyourbeautystandards and self-love abound, has exploded beyond its 1960s grassroots origins, reaching a pinnacle of championship never before seen on this scale.

Far removed from the fringe popularity of fat feminist pioneers, now, poster people for fat activism are just as recognisable to the average person as some of the world’s most famous, so-called ‘mainstream’, models.

In the UK, the likes of blogger and writer Stephanie Yeboah, Bethany Rutter and Lauren Tallulah Smeets recently featured in a Navabi ad campaign in response to the widely chastised ‘Are You Beach Body Ready?’ advert from Protein World. And other prominent plus size bloggers like Grace F Victory, who appeared in Nadia Rose’s music video for her 2017 hit, Big Woman, have been featured dancing on a public stage, leading the way in increasing the visibility of fat women.

Loving our bodies is officially ‘in’, thanks to the hard work of fat activists of the past and… Read the full story

Twitter has accused Anthropologie of cultural appropriation after the brand started selling an ‘En Shalla Tapestry Tote’.

The bag, costing $148 (£110), appeared to have the same pattern as the Palestinian keffiyeh scarf, which has traditionally been a symbol of Palestinian nationalism.

‘Featuring a beautiful tapestry-inspired print, this tasselled tote makes a stylish companion for your next beach adventure,’ the site listing read.

‘Blending traditional Moroccan techniques with a thoroughly contemporary aesthetic, En Shalla offers a curated collection of high-end, ready-to-wear styles that complement any wardrobe.’

And Twitter user @Saressaa wasn’t having it, saying that it was the ‘definition of f*ckery when a symbol of Palestinian resistance is demonized on the daily’.

Get ready to make your friend or family member happy-cry on their special day with a memorable wedding card message.

Even though the most talked-about wedding of 2018 is over, there will be plenty of people with invites to weddings this summer. It’s usually bad manners to turn up without a card, but what’s the best thing to write in it?

Most of us want to convey our happiness for the newly-hitched couple in the most heartfelt way possible, without writing a generic message that will be repeated by other guests.

If you experience writer’s block when there’s a blank card in front of you, don’t worry. There are plenty… Read the full story

It must be quite annoying being a member of the royal family as you can’t wear anything without being copied by half the world.

Meghan Markle wore a Goat dress (no, not a dress with a goat on – we were disappointed too) at her first official royal appearance – a garden party to celebrate Prince Charles’ 70th birthday, which is later this year.

Newly married Meghan wore the brand’s Flavia dress in dusky pink, which cost £590, and predictably, it sold out within minutes.

Should you have sex in an Airbnb?

You’d have sex in a hotel, right?

That feels fairly standard. People book hotels for the express purpose of having sex. It’s the location for affairs or nights away from the kids.

It’s normalised by films and TV, and a daily visit from the cleaners makes it feel free of any grubbiness.

As an alternative to hotels, you might think that the same attitudes to sex apply when you’re staying in an Airbnb. But the reality is a little more complex.

While a hotel room is sterile and free of any personality, each with the same generic art print on the wall and white sheets, part… Read the full story

Just get in my mouth (Picture: Moving Mountains)

Moving Mountains has announced that its raw vegan ‘bleeding’ burger is being rolled out to new restaurants.

The UK’s first ever meatless raw burger to ooze blood-like juices took two years to develop, and arrived at Mildreds’ Dalston location in February, to mixed reviews.

Metro.co.uk went to taste it, and we were a bit underwhelmed by how bland the burger was – it really needed something more than a bit of salad and eggless mayo to sex it up a bit.

Up until now, the burger was only available at vegetarian restaurant… Read the full story
