Suddenly the Victoria line doesn’t look so glam…

Forget stinky subways and rat-infested tubes, Moscow’s underground train stations are on another level.

And when we say another level, we mean it. We’re talking cut-glass chandeliers, marble columns and gold-framed frescos.

In fact, the stations are so opulent, you could be mistaken for thinking you’d wandered into a palace.

Canadian photographer David Burdeny was lucky enough to be granted special permission to enter the network after hours, and captured these stunning stations in all their super bling glory.

Check these out.

Honing your goal body is all to do with what you eat rather than how much.

There’s no one-size-fits-all diet that will help with tone and definition with one person and weight loss with another.

It’s because carbohydrates, protein and fat are processed and utilised by the body in very different ways.

‘Consuming 500kcal from a carb source is not equal to consuming 500kcal from a protein,’ says nutritionist Emma Rose, from Fresh Fitness Food.

24 reasons tights are the absolute worst

why tights are the absolute worst
Tights and thigh highs: the devil in nylon form. (Picture: METRO/Myles)

Full disclosure: I spent a full few years wearing only tights, never trousers, on my bottom half.

I gave up jeans after someone I knew proudly proclaimed that wearing jeans and a t-shirt says to the world that you’re a boring person.

I took it to heart, and years of only wearing dresses and skirts followed (I couldn’t find any non-denim trousers that weren’t incredibly unflattering).

And you know what, as fancy and feminine as I felt, the whole experience just made me realise exactly how sh*t tights are. They are the worst and I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns. Here’s why.

Let us set the scene: it’s Bonfire Night, and as per tradition you’re standing in a damp field with your mates. Despite the fact you’re wearing approximately 82 layers you can’t feel your fingers or your toes, and, of course, the display is running behind time.

If only you had a tipple which blended the flavours of dark creamy ale with rich toffee and crisp fruity apple to sup on.

Adele speaks for the broken-hearted everywhere (Picture: XL Recordings)

Who better to turn to when a relationship goes sour than someone like Adele?

She speaks for broken hearts and spurned exes everywhere.

Which is why 19-year-old Mary Caldarella from Auburn, Alabama decided to text her ex-boyfriend using only Adele lyrics.

Specifically, lyrics from her new single Hello.

Because you’ve got to get your kicks where you can.

Mary tweeted her ex Matt’s baffled response yesterday with the caption ‘when the ex falls for Adele lyrics’. And, let’s just say, it got emotional (and a teeny bit NSFW).

It also went viral – with over 11,000 retweets and over 19,000… Read the full story

Earlier this week, 17-year-old high school student Carey Burgess was told her skirt was too short and suspended from school. Her powerful response has now been shared over 9,000 times online.

Carey, student body president at Beaufort High School in South Carolina, was asked to leave school grounds because, according to one staff member, her skirt violated the dress code by exposing more than three inches of thigh.

The school girl was initially reduced to tears by the dressing down by her school administrator. But, she later took to Facebook to argue her case.

Scarily easy looks to do at home (Picture: Metro)

Browsing on Pinterest, as I often lose hours of my life doing, I was getting seriously impressed by some of the Halloween makeup ideas going round.

Decaying zombie flesh crafted from liquid latex, unzipped faces and fragile china dolls all looked far superior to anything I’d ever tried before.

There’s a billion and one tutorials out there showing you how to achieve these looks, but most of these are done by people with actual skill who regularly do this kind of thing.

It promises amazing things but can you bear to brush your teeth with black toothpaste?

The new Curaprox formula is made with a base ingredient of activated carbon (charcoal) which is said to absorb and remove stains without wearing away tooth enamel.

Apparently this is better than typical whitening toothpastes, whose abrasive particles and bleaching agents erode the enamel.

four year old daughter gives dad a tattoo 2
Bob Tat let daughter Chloe tattoo his arm after months of training (Picture: Facebook/Bob Tat)

Okay, this dad is brave.

Not only because he’s trusting his four-year-old daughter not to monumentally mess up, which is courageous in itself (kids are cute, but not the most reliable), but because he’s given her the chance to permanently alter his arm, using a big, scary needle.

Known as Bob Tat, the tattoo artist decided to let four-year-old daughter Chloe tattoo his arm after months of training.

Watching her dad tattoo his clients has made her want to try it too, and for months she ‘safely watched, learned, and listened.’

Bob told metro.co.uk: ‘When she was ready I had her hold a machine without… Read the full story

Heather finally gets the wedding pictures she dreamed of (Picture: Dana Gruszynski)

‘Photos are easily the one thing that is most important for the day,’ says bride Heather Koehler of the dream wedding.

Because those pictures are the ones you’ll put on your mantelpiece, and the ones you’ll show your grandkids.

So, Heather was left devastated when her wedding photographer failed to show on her big day. She learnt about the no-show just minutes before she was due to walk up the aisle to marry boyfriend Matt.

She had no choice but to carry on without any professional pictures. ‘It never crossed my mind that she wouldn’t show up,’ she told MLive.

However, when Michigan wedding photographer Dana Gruszynski heard about the no-show on Facebook the… Read the full story

If you’ve seen nutscaping, you’ll know that balls are having a real moment right now.

So, answering what’s clearly a worldwide demand, someone really has made a backpack designed to look like a set of testicles. This is the world we live in. Isn’t it glorious.

The Scrote ‘N’ Tote is a rucksack with a twist. The twist being that the sack part is a ballsack. It’s made of specially designed scrotex, for the realism we all crave from our testicle themed fashion, complete with all the hairs and wrinkly goodness you’d expect.

The scrotal rucksack first came into public knowledge last year, when a photo of one man proudly displaying… Read the full story

Since having children I find myself saying the same old sentences over and over again, day in, day out…

I am sick of the sound of my own voice. Especially when I hear it saying these things:

1. Where is the other SOCK?

Why is it that when you become a parent you lose the ability to keep socks in pairs? My children are not even aware that matching socks are a ‘thing’.

2. If you do (insert simple task here) you can have a biscuit.

Bribery is a parent’s most useful tool.

3. One more spoonful…

You know one spoonful will not fill them up or provide much in the way of nutrition– but you say it anyway, usually through tears of frustration at the… Read the full story

Hence the ever increasing number of single-item restaurants. From the niche – we give you Tartufi & Friends, a self-styled ‘truffle lounge’ – to the nostalgic – porridge cafes people.

The latest offering, The Project Project, has designs on the humble spud.

The gourmet baked potato cafe opened this week in Soho and these spuds are smokin’.

Ever feel like someone’s haunting your Instagram feed? Watching, stalking, liking and then rapidly unliking photos from a few weeks back?

Oh wait, no. It’s not me. Sorry. Got confused. It’s this ghost, Mr Boo, who’s dedicated to bringing all kinds of ghostly delights to the internet.

Mr Boo is a totally real ghost, who’s come back from the graveyard to become Instafamous. But also because he has ‘unfinished business’.

We’re not sure what this unfinished business could be, but we like to imagine it has something to do with overtaking Kim Kardashian’s follower count.
