Dating someone like me, with schizophrenia, has its challenges. But there are rewards too.

What I lack in culinary expertise and concentration I more than make up for in a caring nature and sensitivity.

While you should never avoid dating someone with schizophrenia because of tabloid headlines or bleak Hollywood stereotypes, there are some things here you may like to weigh up before getting involved further.

1. My psychiatrist always knows best

So don’t try and advise whether or not to take medication, or tell me when I can and can’t call in sick.

2. Struggle with concentration

You may have a battle on your hands if you want me to settle down to watch a film or… Read the full story

You don’t have time to exercise. Or don’t want too.

Whatever your reason, try these lazy girl hacks that can make those muscles toned without much effort at all.

Trick your body into a routine, and never look back.

1. Exercise while watching your favourite TV shows

You don’t want to be distracted while the actual show is on so do short bursts of exercise during the adverts.

These little-three minute slots of exercise will soon add up to hours during your favourite shows.

Do some sofa squats or sit-ups without having to ever leave the house.

2. Change your commute

Why not walk or cycle for part or all of your journey to/from work.

This little change can soon add up… Read the full story

40s are the new 20s – everyone these days knows that.

You’ve probably got another 40 or 50 years to figure out this adult lark, so why rush it?

Here’s why your 40s really are the best years of your life.

You’ve made your peace with your family, even if that’s just in your head

They might be idiots that you’d never choose as friends, but they’re the only family you’ll have and you know to make the most of them.

With any luck your parents are still around and have… Read the full story

It’s always awkward when you text the wrong number or accidentally send a text to the wrong person.

But, it’s even more awkward when that person is your own Grandma.

Which, if this screengrab isn’t just a clever hoax, is exactly what happened to a girl named Maddie when she received a text from an unknown number asking if she wanted beef at 6pm.

Maddie, overwhelmed by this text she’d received, automatically assumed that the person behind the unknown number was asking for a fight.

And she was having none of it.

When you’re giving birth, it’s lovely to have a partner who’s there to offer support, comfort, and anything else you could possibly need during labour.

Like ice chips, or words of encouragement. Or selfies. You know, to lighten the mood AND capture the big emotions of the day.

One brave man, Gil Solano, has risked severe injury and the seething hatred of his wife to make sure she had everything she needed.

He wrote on Reddit: ‘My wife wanted to make sure that someone took a picture of the expression on our faces when our daughter was born today. So I took one.’

Remember when people would send out their ‘we’re getting married!’ announcements in the post, in the form of hand-written cards with impeccable calligraphy?

Or, after the birth of social media, a simple ‘guess who’s getting hitched?’ status would get 100 likes?

Those days are dead. Letters and statuses just aren’t good enough anymore. If you’re announcing your engagement in the modern world, you’re going to need to raise the bar a bit.

Get your kid to do it. Hire a kid, if you don’t have one. Spell it out in Smarties.

But if you really want to nail it, you’ll need some animals. Preferable two different species who make mismatched friends, like Reddit… Read the full story

Yeah, you’re all excited about welcoming a little one to the family, but being pregnant isn’t always a smooth ride.

Which is something Line Severinsen soon realised when she became pregnant for the first time in 2012, with daughter Maia.

Line told Metro.co.uk: ‘I was feeling sick and tired all through my first trimester while all I saw online and in magazines were these picture-perfect, happy, pregnant super-women.

‘I thought to myself that there is no way that no other people felt and looked like I did, so I wanted to help them understand that they weren´t alone and that it is ok to… Read the full story

Recently, my relationship has really struggled.

My partner and I had both been under a lot of pressure after my health took a turn for the worse and, as it did, our relationship began to deteriorate along with it.

We’d argue about nothing. Snapping at each other over the smallest things and watching as heated conversations turned into full-blown rows.

We weren’t being intimate anymore, not even taking the time to offer a kiss or a cuddle.

It got to the point where talks of splitting up became a frequent thing. Who would move out first? Who was most deserving of our home?

It got really silly. And it wasn’t until our conversation reached the end that we knew we were making… Read the full story

Look, we get that the Victoria’s Secret show is inherently superficial and commercial.

It’s a massive, expensive show using very attractive people to sell lingerie. It has to be.

But just because it’s not a serious conference on the impact of global warming, that doesn’t mean we have to descend into totally patronising silliness, and treat the models like they have nothing better to talk about than starving themselves for the show.

Not only because it’s boring, and… Read the full story

Wait. What? (Picture: Imgur)

Why. Just why.

American department store Bloomingdale’s made a bit of an error in judgement in their Christmas catalogue, adding in some disturbing copy to an image of a man and woman looking fancy in Rebecca Minkoff outfits.

‘Spike your best friend’s egg nog when they’re not looking,’ suggests the ad, showing a man in a suit side-eyeing a woman laughing.

The page was uploaded to Imgur, where it quickly made the rounds on the internet, attracting accusations of date-rape undertones.

People on Twitter were understandably unimpressed.

According to the latest RAJAR figures, in the third quarter of 2015, Britain’s radio broadcasters reached 47.8 million people – or roughly three quarters of the population.

(Picture: Liberty Antonia Sadler)

By the time I reached my 20s, I’d had three surgeries. Aged 16, I suffered with a collapsed lung and a chest pneumonia, so ended up having a chest drain for three days whilst in an intensive care unit.

Aged 19, I underwent ileostomy surgery, where my colon was also removed, having unknowingly been suffering with Ulcerative Colitis, a form of Inflammatory bowel disease. I also had my appendix removed during this time.

A few months after turning 20, I had reversal surgery to connect my small intestine to my rectum, in order to lose my ileostomy bag.

Although it’s been a bit of a struggle, I haven’t… Read the full story

A doting dad has created a cartoon series starring his daughter who has Down’s syndrome.

Just Jessica is the work of 59-year-old psychiatric nurse Fred Wills Sr., and follows the life of his youngest child, Jessica.

Fred from Connecticut, USA, has drawn cartoons of all his children over the years, and started drawing the Just Jessica cartoon around 18 months ago.

He draws the cartoons in the evening – often reflecting on the events of the day – and posts them on the microwave for Jessica to see in the morning.

He told the Today Show: ‘Every morning, it’s the first thing she looks for… She loves them.’

First off, the Hut is introducing a pulled pork pizza. Yep. Pizza dough, covered in cheese, pulled pork, and BBQ sauce. It’s like a summer BBQ in pizza form. We’re into it.

There’s also brand new fried pickles – AKA frickles – on offer for the first time, which sound like our new favourite thing in the world, ever. Plus ribs. Really sticking to that BBQ meat theme.
