Incredible.

A video showing the evolution of man’s face over the period of six million years, in just one and a half minutes, has been wowing people all over the interweb.

The video was originally posted online in 2013, but has recently resurfaced, and blowing people’s minds anew.

It was created by Yale books to promote Shaping Humanity: How Science, Art, and Imagination Help Us Understand Our Origins, by paleoartist John Gurche, explains exactly what life was like for our long-lost ancestors.

Are you one of those people who prides themselves on never taking a sick day?

In other words, are you one of those people who spends approximately 157 work days each year coughing and spluttering over your colleagues?

It’s also known as ‘presenteeism’ and some scientists have analysed 61 studies across 34 different countries to find out what it says about you.

Interested in why some people still go to work when they’re ill, while others always stay home, Dr. Mariella Miraglia of the University of East Anglia and Gary Johns of Concordia University analysed data provided by over 175,000 people.

Three stripes, must be legit.

The small town of Sujainių in Lithuania has had a sudden rise to prominence.

Why? Because one of its residents has painted the exterior of their house brown with white Adidas stripes and a logo.

Casual.

Unsurprisingly the house has caused quite a stir, and people from the surrounding area have flocked to see it with their own eyes.

Talking to Lithuanian website Delfi, the owners explained: ‘We did not expect that we will have so much attention.’

They also confessed that if they’d have known there was going to be such a fuss, they may not have done it.

For most 14-year-old girls, their biggest worry is whether their crush likes them back, whether they’ve finished their homework on time or if their friends really like their new hairstyle.

But for 14-year-old Aiesha Ross, from New Zealand, it’s been a whole other story.

Aiesha was born with an imperforate anus. She also had associated cloacal abnormalities, leaving the nerves in her spine controlling her bowel and bladder damaged, so Aiesha has no control over them.

Aiesha has to wear a colostomy bag and also uses a tube to empty her bladder because of this, which she said she was teased for throughout high school.

If you’ve been tattooed, chances are there are a number of phrases that you have heard over and over again.

Most of the time these phrases are actually people telling you things that they – for some reason – believe you haven’t thought about yourself, before deciding to get a tattoo.

Here’s 15 things you’ll only know if you have tattoos.

1. You are constantly told by everyone who doesn’t approve of tattoos that you will ‘regret them when you’re older’.

2. But, unless you’re one of those people who get tattooed when they’re drunk on a holiday in Magaluf, chances are no, I won’t regret them when I’m older.

As the cold weather approaches, so does your annual flu.

There are a handful of things that happen every autumn/winter without fail. Things such as the leaves falling, your heating bill quadrupling from last year, the launch of the PSL, and getting struck down with the dreaded flu.

Despite all advances in modern medicine, the pesky flu still manages to somehow find you, temporarily floor you and wreak havoc on your poor body.

Here is what you can look forward to.

You’re merrily going about your daily business, and BHAM! The sniffles strike, and you play it down and just blame it on the fact that there’s a bit of dust in the air. Or perhaps… Read the full story

Who are we to judge, eh?

A woman who claims to follow the Pastafarian religion has won the right to wear a colander on her head in her driving license picture.

Lindsay Miller, from Massachusetts, USA, was originally told by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) that she would not be able to wear the drainer on her head.

But with help from the American Humanist Association’s Appignani Humanist Legal Center, Lindsay managed to have the verdict overturned after arguing that she should be able to wear the colander in her driving license photo as the RMV’s rules state that headwear is allowed to be worn for ‘medical or religious reasons’.

Living with schizophrenia is bad enough without the smattering of stigmatising sayings from others that accompany it.

When I hear one of these I usually start to wonder who is the more deluded: me or you?

Here’s 14 things not to say to someone with schizophrenia.

1. How many personalities have you got?

It’s a common myth that schizophrenia means you have a split personality, and an offensive one at that.

2. Have you ever been arrested?

Contrary to lurid tabloid headlines, not all schizophrenics are axe-wielding maniacs.

Most are more a danger to themselves than others.

3. Are you a bunny-boiler or a crazed animal in bed?

This doesn’t even warrant a response!

4. You’re so brave/inspirational

Being ill doesn’t really make… Read the full story
