Men – do you secretly prefer wine to beer?

Have you quaffed lager with the lads when all you really wanted was a nice pinot or (whisper it) Sauvignon blanc?

Well thankfully Mancan wine is here to let you drink wine without having to go to your usual trouble of cowering indoors behind the sofa with all the lights out.

Because, that’s right, this is wine for men.

Real men. Who drink from cans. Mancans.

On the can it says the product was ‘thought up by a guy who lives in an old firehouse, walks to work with his dog, has two bikes and a trike, and wanted to move beyond stemware.

‘At Mancan we believe wine… Read the full story

Princess Street in Manchester goes both ways. Get over it (Picture: Adrian Bradley/Twitter)

As part of a major shake-up to the city centre’s road system, Manchester’s Princess Street is now open to two-way traffic.

Which, we admit, isn’t the most exciting news in the world, even if you live in Manchester.

But, to publicise the change to the street, which joins Canal Street, and is at the centre of the city’s LGBT nightlife, Transport for Greater Manchester have come up with a brilliant poster campaign.

One of their signs was shared by BBC Radio 5’s Adrian Bradley and the people of Twitter are loving it.

Finally (Picture: Warrens Bakery/Twitter)

We don’t mean to shout but WHY HAS NO ONE THOUGHT OF THIS BEFORE?

Introducing the world’s first mince pie and custard pasty.

Because what every mince pie needs is a little pool of custard to help wash it down with.

And, don’t worry, this isn’t some half-baked abomination created by your local supermarket – this comes from Warrens Bakery in Cornwall, the oldest Cornish pasty producer in the world.

So they should know what they’re doing.

The festive pasty went on sale last weekend at their 50 stores across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.

Kay donated her shoes to a homeless woman on a crowded 3 train in Times Square last week (Picture: Kay Brown/Facebook)

Proof that there are still lovely people in the world who would literally give you the clothes off their back. Or the shoes off their feet.

New Yorker Kay Brown was travelling on the subway during rush hour last week when a homeless and mentally handicapped woman got on, wearing nothing on her feet.

So, Kay took off the shoes she was wearing and gave them to the woman.

She then stood on the train in her mismatched socks for 15 minutes before a gentleman offered her his extra pair of thick socks to wear… Read the full story

Heels = hell (Picture: Getty)

I know right, there are some of us that actually don’t enjoy getting dolled up to the nines. Some of us who actually enjoy a flat shoe and spending nights out that don’t involve any kind of bodycon or support underwear.

Let’s, however, get one thing straight. Just because we don’t like getting ‘dressed up’, doesn’t mean we can’t dress well. We just more often than not don’t want to fall over in heels.

There’s also a few other things we can all relate to. Things such as.

Ok, straight off the bat. We get far more excited by the release… Read the full story

In all the fuss over a cat burning the turkey and an old man being jettisoned to the moon by John Lewis, you could be forgiven for missing the cutest Christmas star of all: this lonely little horse.

While it’s not strictly speaking a Christmas ad, the new Amazon Prime offering aired last week and it’s definitely been tugging at Twitter’s heartstrings.

The ad by Joint London stars a very little horse who struggles to make friends with the bigger boys in the field.

Despite the little horse’s best efforts, he is rejected by the snooty bigger ponies.

Three sisters have found a way to fund their expensive tastes – simply by taking selfies.

The practice of getting men to splash their cash while keeping sex off the table is called ‘rinsing’ and the Brooks sisters are absolute pros.

To date, they estimate they’ve received £75,000 worth of designer goodies, flowers, makeup and even iPads.

It all started in 2010 when Lucy Brooks was sent a bottle of Marc Jacobs perfume by a complete stranger when she shared a selfie on Twitter.

You might have seen that people are now painting the roots of their hair with glitter, but we’ve found a Christmas look to trump that.

A beard full of glitter is now the ultimate festive statement.

Men (and even some women) are getting into the Yuletide swing of things by decorating their facial hair/chins with a glittery sparkle.

There is one problem: we can’t help thinking how unpractical this look is.

Glitter is the bane of the craft world, creeping into every crevice, still lingering 20 showers later.

Being a mum can be a strange concept at times.

You spend the first few years nurturing this tiny, vulnerable creature which relies completely on you. You then spend the next stages of their life training them up to be independent humans and teaching them right from wrong.

After the next phase of doing battle with them constantly for their own good which inevitably results in those grey hairs you’re now finding, your next job is to literally get them out of the house on their own two feet.
