So I just tried what is supposedly the best burger in the world. Expectations were understandably high.

GQ named the Superiority Burger the best in the world – despite it being vegan, last month – and the news spread like wildfire.

Many, including meat-eaters, agree with the mag that the patty – which contains zero dead animal – is better than any beef burger they’ve tried.

Days after covering the story for Metro, I was due in NYC for a trip and of course I stopped off to the East Village veggie joint to try the burger. I cannot tell you how… Read the full story

Sure, there’s always going to be a question that just doesn’t make sense.

But you don’t normally expect these unanswerable questions to appear in a school exam.

I mean, where the hell do some of these people get their ideas from? When did it become so hard to ask students normal questions?

Well, in answer to my own question: a little while ago, it seems.

Here are eight ridiculous exam questions that schools have seriously asked students.

Because apparently the Earth’s mantle is like a PB & J sandwich.

Or having to answer ‘true’ or ‘false’ when asked what a microphone is.

Is this a serious question?

A woman who documented her 10 stone weight loss on Instagram has literally cut all the cruel and negative comments about her body out of her life.

Twenty-eight-year-old Stephanie Seabrook from Portland, Oregon, weighed 24 stone at her heaviest in 2012. But, setting her sights on becoming a personal trainer, she pushed herself to lose an incredible 10 stone, regularly walking up to three or four miles a day.

Despite her efforts, however, trolls continued to target her with cruel comments about her body.

So, before undergoing surgery to remove the excess skin left by her weight loss, Stephanie… Read the full story

Don’t judge a cake by its icing (Picture: Lisa Sarber Aldrich/Facebook)

This birthday cake may not be perfect but it’s had over 130,000 shares on Facebook.

Earlier this week, Lisa Sarber Aldrich from Michigan went to her local Meijer store (an American grocery chain) to pick up a birthday cake.

After picking one out, she asked the girl working behind the counter to ice a happy birthday message onto it.

‘After a long time,’ Lisa writes on Facebook, ‘she came and presented me with this cake.’

The icing was shaky and wasn’t quite what she expected but Lisa thanked the girl for her efforts and went to pay for the cake.

Because dick pics are so 2014.

Here on the internet, we’ve become a bit oversaturated with naked people and peens. It’s not really shocking or exciting anymore.

But you know what we don’t see that often? People crying.

Artist Dora Moutot thinks that this is the new porn. Rather than getting sexually explicit, it’s all about getting unflinchingly intimate. She collects videos and photos of people crying in front of their webcams and shares them to her aptly named Tumblr, Webcam Tears.

Welcome to very Aussie problems.

A wombat who’d got himself in too deep had to be rescued from a Tasmanian lake by two passing fishermen at the weekend.

Craig Wilson and his step-dad Bob were out fishing for trout on Woods Lake in central Tasmania when they spotted the wombat in trouble, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

‘We were just fishing and we came across the wombat,’ Craig said.

Although they initially mistook the little guy for a platypus. ‘The wombat was trying to stay afloat above the water, we thought it was a platypus because we could see the fur,’ Craig explains.

Enough with the boxes, already (Picture: Liberty Antonia Sadler)

I should have realised it was all a bad idea when I couldn’t get down the stairs. Stood at the top, I gazed down longingly, the back of my thighs twinging in agony. Reluctantly and painfully I fell to the floor… and proceeded to make my way down on my bum. Like a toddler.

I was at work, and my colleagues were looking on, mainly baffled, but also amused. ‘Have you been hit by a car?’ one of them shouted.

There hadn’t been an accident. The… Read the full story

More must be done to make space for disabled people (Picture: Getty Images)

As a disabled person, I am forever trying to find my place in a world that refuses to make a place for me.

Though the disability rights movement is becoming stronger every day, pleading with the world to please make a space for adults and children with various physical, mental and physiological conditions, we are still largely forgotton, or worse pushed aside in the few areas of everyday life that have evolved to include us.

On International Day of People with Disability I’ve chosen to speak out again and highlight some of the ways that the world still doesn’t make space for… Read the full story

Ever bitten into something that’s far beyond your spiciness threshold, immediately regretted it, and subtly tried to down the entire jug of water at the restaurant’s dinner table?

Turns out that might not have been the best course of action. Not just the eating way-too-spicy food bit (which probably wasn’t a great idea), but the chugging water water.

Because, as a new video from Reactions breaks down, drinking water doesn’t help you deal with spicy food. In fact, it might make the pain worse.

Peter Adams-Shawn’s wedding photos capture a couple’s big day as seen through the eyes of their friends and family. Literally.

His incredibly unique ‘eyescape’ wedding pictures show the most important parts of the day, from the bride getting ready to the moment a couple say their vows, reflected in their guests’ eyes.

The wedding photographer, who was born in Sheffield but now lives in Australia, took his first eyescape in 2011.

It was taken from the point of view of a young flower girl, watching in awe as the bride has her hair done.

Everyone knows that the hardest thing about going to work, isn’t doing the job itself.

Oh no, there are a whole host of things that we are terrified of doing in the workplace.

These things don’t include normal fears like being afraid to walk freely after you’ve seen a massive spider run across the landing.

But instead these fears are much more horrifying, and include things like returning to work after you got wild during Friday night drinks and asking for a pay increase.

‘Tis the season to be frisky.

With lots of free booze involved, we’ve all been known to make a bit of a tit of ourselves at the office party.

Snogging Joe from HR seems like a brilliant idea, as does telling your boss exactly what you think of them.

Both are clearly dumb ideas, but not unexpected given you’ve just downed your body weight in tequila.

What’s more surprising is the results of recent research by Ann Summers, which showed 39 per cent of people surveyed admitting to having sex at the office party.

It’s ALIVE!

We don’t want to freak you out, but this microwave appears to be possessed by Lucifer himself. For real.

We know it sounds a bit far-fetched, and we didn’t really believe it ourselves, but then we watched the video and there’s no two ways about it – this microwave is pure evil.

The video, posted online by American student Andrew Chen, clearly shows the kitchen appliance bring up the numbers 666 on its display before suddenly cutting to the sounds of a freaked-out bystander shouting ‘WHAT THE F*****CK.’

Forget the mystery of why cats are afraid cucumbers. There’s a much more pressing ‘animals being scared of things’ issue at hand.

Because it turns out that pugs have one great weakness. Something that fills their hearts with fear and their faces with ‘DEAR GOD GET THAT THING AWAY FROM ME’.

Giraffes. Pugs are scared of giraffes.

More specifically, tiny squeaky toy giraffes.

This important discovery was brought to light by Adeline Garrett, who shared her dog Pippin’s reaction to his new giraffe toy.

Trainers controlled with an app for endless customisation

Okay. So here’s some wearable tech we’re actually excited about.

Shiftwear is a fashion startup that wants to change the idea of customisable clothing. Rather than just offering a nice bit of kit with your name embroidered on the side, they want customers to be able to endlessly change their product to match their tastes.

So they’ve created the Shiftwear Classic – a trainer with a screen that displays whatever design you fancy. You can even choose an animated graphic, so you can walk around with gifs on your feet.

Or, you can just change the colour so your trainers go with every outfit in your wardrobe. The dream.
