‘Everybody now put one hand in the air, one hand in the air. And we go from left to right, watch this –

‘Left, right.

‘Left, right.

‘Left, right.’

The sounds of The Soca Boys’ Follow The Leader could be heard as the Jammin Catamaran came into dock.

I was one of the passengers singing and I loved every second of it.

So that’s where I’ll start my list of eight top things to do in Barbados.

And, as rum punch is a vital component of any trip to the Caribbean paradise, I’ll be giving each venue’s punch a… Read the full story

She’s barely two-years-old but little Bexlee Marie can already deliver a pretty powerful performance of Adele’s Hello.

Proving that no man, woman or, indeed, tiny child is immune to the soul singer’s raw, emotional, lyrics, Bexlee is seen belting out Adele’s comeback song during a breathless 70 second-clip.

The little girl, who gives her impromptu performance stood in the backseat of a car, first steadies herself with a sip of water before putting everything into her performance.

We think you’ll agree she left everything up there on that stage.

Finding a job can be more demoralising than supporting the England rugby team. Or the England football team. OK, most of our national teams.

However, every October we are eternally thankful as the baby Jesus and the economy make a short term arrangement to bring relief, and employment, to those facing that struggle.

Who is going to handle all those extra calls? Who is going to process the orders? Who is going to do the donkey work the existing staff don’t want to do?

Why the faithful Christmas temps of course!

A young Canadian boy’s dreams came true when he had the good fortune to run into Santa in his local coffee and doughnut shop.

A fellow customer who witnessed the special moment, later wrote about it on Facebook, saying it had restored his faith in humanity.

Drink plenty of fluids and take some paracetamol.

This is the age old advice from doctors for getting through the flu, but it might not be as effective as we previously thought.

Not the drinking of fluids part – as far as we know this is true and, if you’re ill, you should probably continue to lap up that water.

But painkillers aren’t going to help you one jot, according to a new study by researchers in New Zealand.

If this isn’t the ultimate mother/daughter bonding, we don’t know what is.

Ruth Oosterman, a Canadian artist from Toronto, has just started a new series of artwork called Collaborations with my Toddler. The series consists of her two-year old daughter, Eve, doodling what she desires on a blank page, before Ruth creates amazing pieces of artwork out of them.

Starting with just a black felt-tip pen, Eve draws whatever she likes. Ruth then finishes her drawings by adding pain… and her own artistic ideas.

Ruth feels that that her personal style has been greatly changed since collaborating with her daughter, and that she has been taught to let go of control to to be open to every and any possibility that could occur during an artistic process.

On her website, she wrote:

As we get older, we tend to create this box that everything is supposed to fit neatly into, all of our ideas and goals in life… Read the full story

Looking after children is hard work, so mums and dads deserve a treat or two during the festive season.

But forget socks, toiletries or scented candles –  here are a few gifts tired parents would really like for Christmas:

1. A HOT drink

Not the triple-reheated-in-the-microwave kind but a fresh, strong hot cuppa.

As every parent knows, as soon as you go to take a sip of that delicious caffeine-based beverage your child will wake up/need a poo/want a drink.

So the chance to drink an entire, warm mugful would be amazing.

2. A lie in

Once you have kids, you can kiss goodbye to the days of relaxing in bed until lunchtime or whenever… Read the full story
