It’s not just people who are getting overly excited by the release of the next installment from the Star Wars franchise.

Pets are also feeling the force and celebrating by dressing up as their favourite characters.

Well, possibly their owners have been dressing them up, but the pets seem to be really into it.

No need to travel to a galaxy far far away, for we have plenty of R2-D2s and furry little Ewoks running around planet Earth.

And they’re way cuter than the originals.

It’s the great Quality Street scandal (Picture: Charlotte Stacey Hook/Facebook)

Nothing rials the Great British public more than being shortchanged on our favourite chocolate bars.

Which is why this damning picture of four Quality Street tins, dating from 1998 to 2014 has outraged the internet.

The image confirms what we’ve always suspected – Nestle are slowly slimming down their festive tin and hoping we don’t notice.

Charlotte Stacey Hook‎ from Washington, Tyne & Wear, saves her sweet tins every year to keep her Christmas decorations in.

This year, she decided to take a picture of all the tins lined up. She shared it on the Quality Street Facebook page, writing: ‘Been putting the Christmas tree… Read the full story

When it comes to choosing red wine or white, most people have a preference for one over the other.

But did you know that it’s not because of the flavour?

According to the 2014 Wines in Style report, a preference for red or white one comes down not to taste, but personality.

There are key differences between red wine drinkers and white wine drinkers.

So can we guess which you are?

Why you should drop a casual ‘s***’ into conversation now and then (Source: Getty Images/METRO/Mylo)

Holy f***. Could having a foul mouth actually be good for you?

From an early age we’re taught by our parents to keep our language clean, or to wash our mouths out when we slip up. We’ve been under the premise that it’s ugly, unattractive and a sign of stupidity.

But science it seems tells a different story. Cussing in times of peril or anxiety, or even on a daily basis can actually have scientifically suggested health… Read the full story

Idiot shuts down major highway for marriage proposal and enrages entire internet

A man in Houston, Texas, has managed to enrage the entire internet after he single-handedly shut down a major highway to propose to his girlfriend.

Oh, and in doing so he also delayed the delivery of a new-born baby.

But it was all in the name of romance, right? Ha! People don’t care about that when they’re trying to get home for dinner or, as it happens, were in a rush to get to the hospital to deliver their baby.

Especially not the internet, anyway. Which of course, is furious with the man.

Yep, really.

What with Star Wars: The Force Awakens being released tomorrow, it seems everyone is getting into the Star Wars spirit.

Including the weather reporters.

This one-minute weather report manages to fit in a whole array of Star Wars quotes. And impressively, the weather girl manages to keep a straight face during the entire take.

Phrases such as ‘don’t be a trooper’ and ‘if you Luke father west’ find their way in, managing to create a whole weather report that actually somehow makes sense.

The award for the best sentence in the report goes to: ‘There will be a fairly light breeze, the force is strong though, for Northern Scotland.’

Brilliant.

We’ve had (size small) Yoda condoms, we’ve had lightsaber dildos and now comes the report that a Star Wars porn parody has seen a massive 500 per cent spike in the last two weeks.

Star Wars fans are clearly revved up ahead of the opening of The Force Awakens today.

Porno parody movie Star Wars XXX has seen a 500 per cent increase in DVD sales since the beginning of December, according to adult entertainment retail site GameLink.

When you vow to stay together ’till death do us part’ of your wedding, most people are thinking at least several decades into the future.

They’re not thinking about the wedding photos.

But, one couple took a massive leap of faith for their spectacular wedding pictures, taken on a cliff edge 350ft above the ground.

Christie Sulkoski and Kevin Coleman were lowered to the spot wearing their big white dress and smart suit respectively, for the jaw-dropping photoshoot.

They were then tied to a hidden anchor on the side of the cliff in the White Mountains, New Hampshire, US.

There’s no place like Norfolk in the lead-up to Christmas.

This rural, east coast county is home to a very pretty city and packed with festive fun-having.

We don’t just have Christmas markets, we have them in some of the most outstanding heritage buildings in the country.

We don’t just have Santa’s Grottos, we have them for dogs!

And we don’t just do panto, we do it differently.

Here’s 11 reasons why Norfolk is the best place to spend Christmas

1. It’s great for gifts

This is Luca. Luca likes to destroy her cuddly toys.

All except one.

Luca’s owner Karissa Lerch posted two pictures of her beloved dog, an Alaskan Malamute, on Imgur earlier this week, writing: ‘Then and now. She destroys every stuffed animal except this one. :)’

As well as an adorable picture of Luca as a puppy at eight-weeks-old snuggled up to her mini-me cuddly toy, there is one of her now, at one-and-a-half-years-old. And, yep, she’s still got her cuddly look-a-like.

Watch this very sleepy monkey struggle to stay upright

You know that feeling at the end of a long hard day when you’re struggling to keep your eyes open?

Well, this monkey really knows that feeling.

He literally cannot keep his head upright, which is both cute and more than a little comical.

But it’s obviously annoying for his dog companion (oh yeah he shares a bed with a dog, which is great) who is clearly thinking: ‘Just come to bed already.’

However, instead of settling down and just taking a nap, this monkey is all like: ‘I’m just resting my eyes.’

15 things we all secretly dread about Christmas

‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year’…

True. To a degree.

But it’s also a time of year that can lead to excessive behaviour that leaves us all with a mild (often severe) feeling of impending dread of what’s to come.

Yes, the carols, good will and gift swapping is all very wholesome and lovely, but there’s some things about the festive period that just scare the bejesus out of us.

1. The office party

Best friend ever makes her mate a cuddly uterus after she has a hysterectomy

what is more cuterus than your uterus

Let’s be real. Are you actually best friends if you’ve never discussed the inner workings of your uteri?

No. No you are not. True BFFs are there to give each other a tampon when they need it, advise each other on what a normal amount of cramping and pain is, and will happily discuss ovulation schedules when one friend is trying to get pregnant.

And if one friend has a hysterectomy, the greatest friend will make her a cuddly uterus. Because that’s what friends do.

One woman who has stepped up to the task is Lolareola, who shared her creation on Reddit. Her little uterus buddy even has one last period.

To clarify, the cuddly uterus – or cuterus, as we like to call it – doesn’t have ovaries as Lolareola’s friend didn’t have a radical hysterectomy, so she still has her… Read the full story

Welcome to your Christmas project – knitting a pair of Netflix socks that will automatically pause your favourite show when you fall asleep during a Netflix binge.

What magic is this you may well ask? Well, Netflix have helpfully supplied a step-by-step guide.

They do preface it with this disclaimer: ‘Making Netflix socks from scratch means doing a little knitting and building some electronics. If knitting isn’t your thing, you can always enlist the help of a knitting-savvy friend, or simply use socks you already own.

‘To build the sensor, you’ll need an understanding of electronics and microcontroller programming,… Read the full story
