Put your drink down.

We know it’s Christmas and obviously that involves having far too much to drink while family members (not so) silently judge you, but we repeat – put it down.

You could be drinking the wrong thing.

And that would be a catastrophe, it would be worse than that time the Grinch stole Christmas.

What if you think you’re a cosy sort of mulled wine but actually the zing of prosecco suits you far more?

It would be best to take the quiz now, just for peace of mind.

But among all that, there were some really lovely feel-good stories this year.

To remind us that good people exist and give us some warm, cosy end of year feels, here are Imgur’s most heartwarming stories of 2015.

We’re sure your Christmas was probably great.

Maybe your parents cooked an amazing turkey with all the trimmings, and you’re currently in a cosy food coma. Maybe you got that iPad/teapot/pony you’ve been dreaming of.

But no matter how joyful, your Christmas does not compare to the Christmas of these dogs, who have pretty much mastered the celebration of festive occasions.

Kelly and Zach Furr are a couple living in Versailles, Kentucky. They have quite a few dogs.

For Christmas, Kelly and Zach set up a special ‘kids table’, and snapped a picture. This is that kids table. This is that picture.

Well look no further.

Here are 13 leftover turkey recipes that are guaranteed to get stomachs rumbling on Boxing Day.

How did Boxing Day get its name? (Picture: Getty)

Boxing Day: a time for napping, playing with all the toys you got your hands on at Christmas, and stubbornly refusing to change our of your pyjamas unless there’s a major sale involved.

But what is Boxing Day, other than a day when trains are crap and shops are packed? And how did it get its name?

So. The very, very basics: Boxing Day is the day after Christmas – December 26, celebrated in the UK.

It’s a bank holiday, so banks are closed, shops open later, and public transport definitely isn’t reliable. There are also loads of post-Christmas sales.

Christmas Day is done.

All that build-up and all that preparation for one simple day – and it’s not even the best day of Christmas.

Here are the reasons why…

There isn’t a Christmas goes by without at least one of these pointless gifts being wrapped up under the tree for you.

But which one is ultimately the worst of all?

17. Novelty socks

You’re likely already wearing socks on the day you unwrap this pointless gift, so it’s not even like you’ll put them on for the sake of Christmas Day. However, they are likely to get you out of a jam on a wash day at some point, and you could wear them on Boxing Day to keep… Read the full story

Who ate all the (mince) pies? We did. We all did.

We went too far, and now we’re paying the price: a bloated tummy, a sense of achievement, and a strong revulsion to wearing anything without an elasticated waistband.

There’s only one thing you should be wearing from now until New Year’s Eve – when you’ll force yourself to get up, dress yourself in sequins, and long for the hours before when you were sitting on the sofa with a box of Celebrations – and that’s sweatpants.

It’s been a strange year. Netflix and chill became a thing. We dyed our hair weird colours. People injured themselves to make their lips look like Kylie Jenner’s.

But if there is one being rising out of the strangeness of 2015 (other than Adele), it was the humble raccoon.

2015 was the YEAR of the raccoon. Suddenly, we were paying attention to what many have called ‘weird cat things’ and ‘garbage animals’.

Kids and dogs. In the battle for cuteness, it’s a pretty close race.

So there’s only one option. Kids and dogs need to join forces.

A new video making the way for kids and dogs cuteness comes from the Humane Society of Missouri, which ran its Shelter Buddies Reading Program this month.

Shelter Buddies is an initiative which gets children to read books to dogs.

The Humane Society explains: ‘through this program, we aim to make dogs happier and get them adopted faster. They will also get lots of walks, treats and love today!’

Stop. Before you head out and spend all that money your relatives sent you for Christmas, you need to read this.

It turns out that buying things might actually make you happier than spending money on experiences.

A new study from the University of British Columbia has found that when you buy or are given an experience, you experience a strong rush of happiness that then fades once the experience is over.

But when you have physical things, bought or received, the happiness you felt when you first got your hands on them gets brought back every time you use them.
