Admit it. If you didn’t need money and stuff, you’d probably never get out of bed.

But, you’ve got bills to pay, so you drag your weary self to work every day.

And they really don’t make it very easy to grab naps on the go – all those cold, hard surfaces and bright strip lighting.

Fortunately, someone has come up with a solution and stuck it on Kickstarter.

Introducing the Hypnos Hoodie: the world’s best sleep hoodie.

I don't want to go

Did you wake up this morning, realise it was a work day and die a little inside?

Of course you did. It’s January.

And the first week back at work is particularly hard. No longer can you sit around in your turkey trousers, picking at chocolate stains on your top and watching Netflix for 12 hours a day.

While as adults we are expected to take this all on the chin and pretend everything’s fine, children don’t have that filter.

Like this little girl who wasn’t that enthusiastic about the first day back at school.

She speaks for all of us.

Her picture has now been viewed over three million times on Reddit after her mum posted it yesterday morning.

People offered solutions: ‘Have you tried turning it off and on again?’

But, mostly, people just understood: ‘This is powerful’.

The two abandoned dogs have become firm friends (Picture: Second Chance Rescue/Facebook)

Olaf, a one-year-old mastiff, and six-month-old puppy Mariah may seem like unlikely friends.

But the two abandoned dogs have become an invaluable support to one another after meeting in the emergency room.

Just a couple of weeks ago, both were considered to be in a very critical condition.

Olaf had a severely infected wound on his leg from an untreated snake bite, while Mariah had been left alone in a car park and was suffering from malnutrition and hypothermia.

Both were brought to New York City’s Second Chance Rescue, a charity that provides emergency care for abandoned dogs.

sad raccoon devastated when he drops his candy floss in a puzzle
Truly heartbreaking. (Picture: Vine)

Prepare yourself for the most devastating video of the year (so far).

This raccoon somehow managed to get his paws on a wedge of candy floss (H/T Ryan Nelson). We don’t know how. We don’t know why. But he was very, very excited to tuck into his special treat.

But first, he built up the anticipation. It’s all about delayed gratification, you know? He carried it around, looked forward to it, treasured it.

And just before eating it, he decided to give it a little wash. Oh. Oh dear.

Have you messaged your text door neighbour to wish them a happy new year yet?

If not, what are you waiting for? It’s the new way to make friends with strangers on the internet. Maybe.

Your text door neighbour is the person whose mobile phone number is just one digit different to yours.

You know, the person who gets all the calls from people you meet in clubs and give your fake number out to.

And in the last few days, people have been reaching out to their text door neighbours and sharing the results on Twitter.

Let’s just say it doesn’t always go to plan.

The game is afoot.

Well, this answers that ‘how would a dog wear trousers’ debate

Finally. (Picture: Muddy Mutts)

Oh, hey. Remember that time the internet had a full on meltdown over how the heck a dog would wear trousers?

You know, the time when we all distracted ourselves from the big, important questions, like ‘what is the meaning of life?’ and ‘wait, what day is it?’, with an even bigger and more important question?

It was a time of mystery. Intrigue. Anger. Rage. Dogs.

Furious debates broke out. Friendships were broken. And at the centre of it all was one issue: if a dog wore trousers, how would he wear them? Seriously, how?

Just because you’re not attracted to something, that doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate it.

So why shouldn’t lesbians have a go at touching a penis (as long as it’s all consensual, obviously)? It’s educational, fun, and you get a little closer to understanding how men feel. Literally and emotionally.

Bria and Chrissy, a lesbian couple and singing duo, got together a bunch of lesbians who had never touched a penis before. And, um, let them touch a man’s penis.

To some of us, beauty is life.

The latest mascara release or celeb-brand collaboration means the same to us as a long-awaited album to music lovers.

We’re completely obsessed with all things lipstick, powder and paint.

But not everyone understands.

Here’s 12 things you’ll only know if you’re a beauty addict.

1.The ‘brows before mascara’ look

Forget a Halloween mask, this is scary enough.

2. MAC therapy

Feeling down? No problem!

Just walking into a store can take your mind off anything.

There’s nothing better than spending way too long browsing and swatching.

3. Eyeliner struggle

There should be a liquid eyeliner academy for all of us who, despite years and years of practice, still can’t perfect that other… Read the full story

This app will stop women writing ‘sorry’ and ‘just’ in their emails

i'm not sorry

We’ve all been there. We have to ask someone something over email, or need to remind them that, um, they forgot to pay us this month. We don’t want to seem rude or annoying, and we can’t use our usual symbols of friendliness: emoji.

So we add in exclamation points (but not too many), start off with ‘I’m just writing’, and make sure to apologise if we’re being at all irritating.

Soon we’ve thrown in a bunch of random compliments and have said ‘sorry’ six times for the massive inconvenience of taking up their time with an email.

So we go back and cut a few out, spending a good fifteen minutes striking that perfect balance of ‘I’m not complaining or being assertive, don’t worry if you can’t do what I ask’ and ‘I’m also not an insane person enthusiastically yelling apologies at you.’ It’s a struggle.

And, as you may have noticed, this struggle… Read the full story

They just go together (Picture: kcarol2133/Imgur)

A man who lost the vision in one of his eyes after an accident, has adopted a puppy born with only one eye that no one wanted.

And now the internet wants to adopt both of them.

A picture of Jordan Trent and his new puppy was posted by his sister kcarol 2133 on Reddit earlier this week. She explained that her brother, who lives in Texas, lost the sight in his left eye when he was 15, after a piece of metal from a weed cutter flew into it.

‘He didn’t know it then and went swimming in a pond which infected the eye pretty bad. He… Read the full story

We thought we really loved coffee, appreciated it and knew everything you could know about it.

But when Starbucks announced the latte macchiato, we had no idea what it meant.

And we began to question everything we thought we knew about our one true love, coffee.

If a macchiato shot could be mixed with a milky latte, we needed to know what else we were missing.

With our new found knowledge, we’ve created this quiz:

Deciding to eat no meat (or at least eating a lot less of it) is difficult.

The things that are thrown at you in adverts, in smells, on the table or desk next to you and in all sorts of other ways to provoke temptation and the itch towards feasting on meat.

But with even avid meat advocate Arnold Schwarzenegger advising us to eat less meat, it’s time to change.

And it’s difficult. Very difficult. Here’s what’s driving us craziest about eating a lot less meat:

After H&M got loads of love for featuring its first Muslim model, we hoped the fashion industry would sit up, take notice, and start expanding their offerings to include women who choose to wear the hijab.

But the fashion world’s response has been pretty underwhelming. It’s still a struggle for Muslim women to find fashion-forward clothing that meets their needs, without heading to a specialist shop or going custom-made.

One fashion label taking a step in the right direction is Dolce & Gabbana.

Who knows Regina, who knows?

When it comes to the science of dieting, most of us are as clueless as Mean Girls’ Regina George.

Since the 1940s we have been bombarded with conflicting information that led many of us to believe that fat is the spawn of the devil.

Research back then indicated that increased saturated fat intake increased the risk of cancer. The study was flawed in that it did not differentiate between the natural saturated fat – found in butter, for instance – and partially hydrogenated fats – the sort once found widely in processed products like biscuits and margarine.

Blindly, we took the advice on board and cut back on butter, cream and… Read the full story

Derby the dog’s life has transformed with the help of a new set of 3D printed legs that allow him to run like the other pups.

The husky was born with no front paws and small deformed legs, meaning he was unable to do much more than crawl.

But everything changed when he was adopted by Sherry Portanova, an employee of 3D Systems, who set to thinking about ways to improve his mobility.

You might remember Derby from a year ago, when he got his first set of prosthetic legs.

It can be a difficult decision, deciding on the colour of a newborn’s room. I mean, what if it’s too bright? Not bright enough? Too colourful? Too dull?

What if the baby doesn’t like it? (Well, that doesn’t matter because they probably won’t even notice it, but still).

Well, forget the old blue or pink debate. There’s a far cooler way.

Lightsabers and wands.

Yep, seriously. That’s what one couple did, anyway.

Father-to-be Greg Daniels and his pregnant wife could not decide on a colour for their baby’s room. So they went with a neutral tone.

This wasn’t because they thought their child would prefer the minimalist touch. It was because it allowed the rest of the decor to stand out.

And so the parents could determine whether their child would be a Jedi or a wizard.

The picture was uploaded to Facebook page 106.9 The Eagle, with the caption: ‘My wife decided to get our soon-to-be daughter on the right track… Read the full story

Yes. A superfood (Picture: DanMcDuck)

Traditionally a staple of the traditional Scottish fry-up, black pudding has now gained superfood status.

Yes, the blood sausage is, according to online health retailer MuscleFood.com, ‘going to become a superstar of 2016’.

While there is no legal or medical definition of what makes a so-called superfood, the term is used to describe foods with supposed health and nutritional benefits.

Black pudding, for example is packed with protein and practically carb free, as well as being rich in iron and zinc – two minerals frequently missing from modern diets.

Want to know exactly what’s in everything you eat, but just can’t be bothered with the endless measuring, calorie counting, and ingredient logging? This device might be perfect for you.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign, ConsumerPhysics has unveiled DietSensor: a magical app and accompanying SCiO scanner that allows you to know the calories, carbohydrate breakdown, fat content, and protein in everything you eat – with just a quick point of the device.

It works through near infrared spectroscopy, which is a fancy way of saying the scanner figures out what the food is made up of by analysing how each of its molecules vibrates.

It’s no secret that dogs love water and, of course, the devoted attention of their owners. And when the two things were combined for one eager pug, it seems the little one just couldn’t even. Seriously.

Ethel the pug, who has a pretty nice Christmas collar by the way, tries to examine every possible way she can make it into the bath with her owner.

She sniffs the bubbles and sneakily tries to dip her paws into the water, no matter how many times she is told off.

Clearly having fun winding up her owner, she just won’t take no for an answer.

It’s all fun and games until her last… Read the full story
