Could you be what she’s looking for? (Picture: STAN HONDA/AFP/Getty Images)

Thought you’d seen it all? Just wait until you read this slightly odd Gumtree ad.

It comes from a woman named Sophie who is desperate for somebody to dress up as a cat and curl up on the end of her bed to purr her to sleep.

In the advertisement, Sophie, from Australia, says she has been having trouble sleeping recently and feels it would be comforting to drop off to the sound of a contented cat.

She is offering $30 (£14.40) per hour to anyone willing to curl up on her bed and purr softly ‘like a sleeping kitten’.

This video is so unintentionally funny that it’s brilliant.

This random woman purposely walks through a group of girls who are practising their dance routine in mall (while wearing matching thigh-high boots) – and it doesn’t go down well at all.

But while one of the girls is clearly steaming and the others look baffled, the woman literally does not give a sh*t.

It is beautiful.

And thankfully, the Chilean dance group responsible uploaded the magnificent moment for us all to have a giggle at.

Again from the top, girls?

But rather than just popping along as a celebrity guest, Bella was on the job – and she made sure to dress for the occasion.

Bella is Valerie’s service dog, alerting Val when migraines, high blood pressure, or panic attacks are on their way. When Val’s heart-rate was raised during the wedding, Bella quickly stepped in to… Read the full story

Not all of us can be the sensible budgeters and forward-planning investors of the world.

Some of us are destined to live with the curse that is impulse shopping.

We buy things because of emotions and sudden NEED, not careful, well-thought out reasoning of how a particular purchase will serve us for years to come.

On the plus side, it means our wardrobes are filled with clothes that make our hearts sparkle, everything we eat fills our cravings, and our rooms are decorated with all the things that make… Read the full story

Weddings are always improved by Darth Vader. He’s a romantic at heart. (Picture: Tim Souza)

Those classic weddings you’ve been pinning to your wedding inspo Pinterest board, with the princess-y dress and three-piece suit, they’re great. But let’s be real. The best weddings have lightsabers involved.

If you doubt that to be true, first off, we find your lack of faith disturbing. But secondly, here’s proof: Ruth and Justin O’Donnell’s wedding.

Ruth and Justin decided to make their wedding a bit heavier on the Force than most, posing for a Star Wars themed wedding photoshoot with photographer Tim Souza.

Nothing says romance like the presence of Kylo Ren and Darth Vader.

You probably haven’t been up The Shard but it feels pretty good to know it’s on our side of the river, right?

If you live in South London then you’ll find that North Londoners often question your decision to live somewhere that is a. so far away and b. has no Tube.

But us south Londoners know that south of the river is where it’s at. Here are 20 reasons why south is best.

1. We’ve got more parks and commons and they’re awesome. Summer picnic on Clapham Common? Lambeth Country Show in Brockwell Park? Fireworks on Blackheath? It doesn’t get much better than this.

1980s bike workout

We haven’t always headed out to our yoga classes in leggings and a top with a motivational quote scrawled on the front.

Nope, our sportswear has changed a LOT over the last 100 years.

Once upon a time we wore tiny shorts and one-shoulder tops. Before that, leotards. And before THAT, we were mad enough to throw on a pair of high heels for a trip to the gym.

MODE has teamed up with Youtube fitness guru Cassey Ho to show us what our workout-wear has looked like over the last century. And believe us when we say the video makes us so, so grateful we’re not trying to get a hot bod in the 50s.

Hey, we’re already planning to let robots do everything else for us in the future. We’ll make robots who will do the office tea round. They’ll do our makeup for us. There will be washing up robots and everything will be wonderful.

So why not use robots to fix one of the trickiest problems couples around the world have to face?

The difficulty to procreate is a struggle for many people around the world, who often have to resort to time-consuming, expensive, and often ineffective alternative methods of procreation.

Now, a group of scientists from Germany’s Institute for Integrative Nanosciences have used… Read the full story

Before we were old enough for clubbing and when our preferred alcoholic beverage was brightly coloured and vaguely fruit flavoured, us 00s teens had house parties.

Here’s how we rolled:

1. Rocked up to the party at 8pm with a four pack of WKDs to see you and your mates through the night. One of these and you were away.

2. That is, until someone decided to mix all the booze at the party together and call it a Snakebite. Which normally resulted in you or your mate vomming in the garden… Read the full story

Because every movie is better when you see it in a great cinema. (Picture: Getty)

In a world chocked full of generic Odeons and Cineworlds, a beautiful cinema really is something to get excited about.

We go to the movies to escape our humdrum lives for a few hours, to immerse ourselves in magical, fantasy worlds of gorgeous people and epic love stories. So why not do it in a palace brimming with history and romance?

If you’re going to fork out £15 for a cinema ticket, you should do it in true style. Otherwise you might as well stay home and away from the frisky teenagers and irritating whispering, and just chill out with some Netflix.

It’s bloody freezing. So let’s not faff about with going outside, actually trying to do things, and attempting to uphold the pretense of going to the gym to stick to our New Year’s resolutions.

It’s January. The only thing we should be doing is relaxing at home, drinking tea, and reading a good book. Or marathon-watching a Netflix series. Whatever you fancy, really.

There are just a few rules. First off, no leaving the house unless entirely necessary. Secondly, comfy clothes only. Don’t embarrass us all by wearing jeans and a fancy jumper around the house. PJs and sweatpants are the dress code.

Being from Yorkshire is quite frankly an honour, and we are rightly proud of our magnificent landscape and immaculate taste in tea.

However, hailing from God’s own county can also bring you an array of problems when dealing with the ‘outsiders’.

Here are just some of our daily gripes…

1. ‘Mispronouncing’ words

In Yorkshire we pronounce words properly, of course, but to the rest of the world the way we say certain words can be very confusing and sometimes can make for a very awkward situation.

The best example of this comes when us Yorkshire folk use the ever so innocent word ‘couldn’t’…try saying it in a Yorkshire accent and this problem will suddenly become very clear.

Oh, dads.(Picture: Modern Family/Getty)

Dads are great. From their classic dad jokes to their obsession with recycling, they’re pretty much the best free form of entertainment since going to the library, or playing fetch with a dog.

Sure, they don’t quite get technology, or the idea that your jeans are ripped on purpose. Sometimes they’re annoying. Sometimes they’re embarrassing.

But that’s what they’re supposed to be. They’re dads.

And to celebrate the inimitable dadness of dads, we must share classic dad moments with the world. On Twitter. It is our duty to carry on the legacy of dads.

1. If there’s one thing dads love, it’s asking technological questions out of the blue.

For years, Greggs has been thought of only as a place to get a piping hot pasty or a cheap doughnut. It’s best for anyone who really, really loves sausage rolls. Or the truest baguette connoisseurs. Basically, it’s all gluten-y carbs, all the time.

But the reign of glutenous Greggs is over.

Don’t worry, you can still get your pasties and tuna crunch sandwich. No need panic. It’s okay.

It’s just that as part of their ‘we’re going a bit more upmarket’ push, Greggs will soon be offering gluten-free options to the… Read the full story

If you keep fighting, you’ll keep surviving.

At two months old, Bella the miniature donkey was separated from her mother by a negligent breeder. She was severely underweight and had developed frostbite in her leg – which would have to be amputated as a result.

Not a great start to life.

But luckily for Bella, a couple near Minneapolis came along. They decided to rescue Bella, and kept her alive even when vets advised them to have her put down.

One of Bella’s owners, Ann, told the Huffington Post: ‘They really strongly wanted to put her… Read the full story
