12 struggles every girl growing out their eyebrows will understand

0

2015 was definitely the year of the brows.

It even more so the year that those of us who had already disastrously over-plucked our brows were left full of regret.

Here are 12 struggles every girl growing out her eyebrows will understand.

1. The hours spent desperately trying to groom your few remaining strands of brow hair to get the most possible facial definition.

Which is incredibly difficult when there’s no real shape to follow.

2. The patchy parts of your brow that refuse to grow out.

You over-plucked them so much they are just giving you back what you deserve. The karma is real, people.

3. Trying every eyebrow growth remedy under the sun.

Including rubbing milk into your brows overnight and waking up smelling like a dairy farm. Yes, really.

4. Paying ridiculous prices for ‘miracle’ eyebrow serum when the remedies don’t work.

Which are definitely not miracles, and instead leave your remaining brows feeling sticky… Read the full story

Oh, what a wonderful world we live in.

A world in which emotional support pigs exist, and can fly on planes. A world in which having a beard – rejoice, hipsters! – might actually be a good thing for your health.

And, now, it is a world in which deep fried peanut butter is a thing that humankind can create. For that, we are eternally grateful.

Send your thanks for this genius creation to Amy Ericsson of Oh, Bite It!, the same woman behind those bacon wrapped mozzarella sticks.

Giving blood is one of the most selfless things you can do. And not enough of us do it.

It helps thousands of people across the country with serious illnesses and more donors are always needed. In June last year, a 40 per cent drop in people giving blood was reported.

Tattoos were cited as the reason at the time, as people aren’t allowed to donate blood if they’ve had tattoo. It’s one of the many rules stated by the NHS that may apply to large numbers of the populations and that we might not necessarily be aware of.

On Monday 25 January 2016, Scotland’s favourite son, Robert Burns, celebrates his 257th birthday.

So let’s raise a wee dram of whisky (or Irn Bru if you’re still doing Dry January) and celebrate with him…

1. Go to a Burns comedy night

Glasgow is the city that bore us comedy greats such as Billy Connolly, Kevin Bridges and Frankie Boyle – there must be something in the water up there that guarantees a lotta laughs.

Leicester Square Theatre is showing the Glasgow International Comedy Festival Burns Night Gala 2016 (catchy title) for Londoners to have a sneak preview of some of the acts performing in the festival later in… Read the full story

When it’s time to be romantic, there are certain things a man must do.

He has to listen and consider what his partner likes. He has to be thoughtful and make an effort. And of course, when he heads out on this big romantic date, he can’t rock up wearing sweatpants and a hoody.

And so, he has to dress up. From top to toe.

For the most stylish men among us no part can be left neglected. For those men, there’s the penis tuxedo.

The sharp dressing, the silver grey hair, the whiff of freshly ground beans, it could only be…oh, um.

Nespresso is suing a coffee rival over the use of a knock-off version of George Clooney – Nespresso’s charismatic leading man – in its ads.

Israeli Espresso Club’s tongue-in-cheek ad shows a man trying to explain the benefits of the Espresso Club brand to a confused George Clooney clone.

How could you know about it, the man asks, when you spend all day ‘smiling at women and talking to yourself?’

The ad comes with a disclaimer that advises viewers the actor ‘is not George Clooney’.

Just in case you were fooled. Because it’s uncanny, it really is.

Do androids dream of electric sheep? Do humans dream of s***loads of cheese? These are the pertinent questions in life.

Modern British society has witnessed a decline in religion, trust in government and tolerance to racist stuff.

So what’s left that’s holding our nation together? CHEESE, that’s what. (Unless you’re lactose intolerant. Sorry guys, our thoughts and prayers are truly with you.)

Think you know your Cheddar from your Camembert, your Ricotta from your Roquefort? Think again, my friend.

And we apologise in advance if this completely obliterates your Veganuary plans.

27 things you’ll only understand if you have resting existential despair face

Such despair. Such misery. (Picture: Getty)

Resting bitchface is all well and good. But that’s simply not what you’re dealing with.

Because your face doesn’t read bitchy, or angry, or sad. It’s a bit more intense than that.

Your naturally downturned mouth conveys the deepest misery. Your eyes say ‘what’s the point, even?’. When you walk around, going about your business, your face proclaims a total loss of faith in the world.

Even if you’re entirely cheery on the inside.

This is your curse. The curse of resting existential despair face. And these are things that only you, and those who share your plight, will understand.

You may have seen our story yesterday, in which one girl misused a Lush bath oil and ended up colouring her skin a startling flamingo pink

Sure, it’s pretty comical, but not when you’ve got to walk around with a bright pink body for three days.

And while we’re all feeling pretty bad for Abi Shenton, she admitted she’d made a mistake and confirmed she did misuse the product – after mistaking what was actually a bath oil for a body-scrubbing soap.

So of course, Lush wasn’t actually to blame.

But, it turns out, Abi wasn’t the first nor the last to end up with a less than natural… Read the full story

Let’s be honest: we all have them.

Whether it’s scarfing down dodgy kebabs, texting our exes or getting n-a-k-e-d (or all three of them at the same time), it’s always the same story.

When the booze filters into our bloodstream and down to our shaky knees, Drunk Us will keep on doing things that Sober Us have to cringe and apologise for.

Reddit asked users what their worst drunken habits were, and – as expected – it did not disappoint.

Anyone who has a tattoo will know that they are highly addictive.

But at the same time, they’re extremely easy to get wrong.

Here are 17 stages of getting a tattoo that every tattoo-lover will relate to.

1. You’ve often had to talk yourself out of getting a tattoo that you worry you won’t like so much in the future.

Just because you really love a film doesn’t mean you need to slapped across your back.

2. Or, you’ve already have one that you really wish you’d thought… Read the full story

We could all do with more of these.

The female orgasm remains an elusive mystery to many men, and even some women.

It’s not their fault – female sexuality doesn’t get taught much in school and we’ve been too embarassed to talk about it for so long it seems awkward to bring it up now.

But OMGyes is hoping to change all that with a website that has a 12-step interactive guide to giving women incredible orgasms.

It’s not just based on anecdotes and hearsay, unlike a lot of other advice out there. Instead, they teamed up with the renowned Kinsey Institute to do some proper research.

They talked to over 2,000 women aged between… Read the full story

‘I AM NOT ASHAMED.’ (Picture: Facebook/Anushka Dasgupta)

Periods. Half the people on the planet get them. But we’re still not talking about them.

Sure, we chat about them on the internet. Now and again someone will share an artsy shot of their stained underwear. We’ll loudly proclaim that periods are natural and everyone needs to calm down, but will still skulk to the toilets with a new tampon hidden up our sleeve.

Day to day, periods are still treated as something shameful. Something we shouldn’t talk about openly.

no one talks about it

That’s why Anushka Dasgupta’s story is so important – and why… Read the full story
