This photo series of cats pictured from underneath is brilliant

After seeing this photo series, it turns out that cats actually do look really cute when viewed from underneath.

Photographer Andrius Burba was at an international cat show in Vilnius, Lithuania, when he felt inspired to create something wonderful.

He had always been fascinated by a cats ‘cute little paws’, feeling they were just impossible to resist to look at.

After trailing through the internet, he found a photo which inspired him to do a whole project based on it. The project? Cats Pictured from Underneath.

Without the project sounding adventurous enough, it turns out there was more to it than just a cat’s tummy.

MORE: We’ve fallen in love with these adorable Munchkin cats

The main idea he wanted to express through the photos, was that cats feel embarrassed about this part of a body which people don’t get to see daily.

It sounds stranger than it is, really.

It took Andrius seven hours of… Read the full story

Well, I can’t quite believe it but this is my 200th column for Metro. Please all let off your celebratory party poppers now… wow, that was quite a sight! Can’t believe you all managed to do that simultaneously. And the ticket inspector will be moving down the carriage in a couple of minutes with a complimentary glass of warm, sparkling white wine.

It’s pretty much exactly four years since I started writing these, in a job I was told would last six weeks. But I kept submitting them and Metro keep publishing them, possibly due to some clerical error, so I should probably keep… Read the full story

If you design a cake to be made for you, you expect it to look exactly as you requested it.

Which means this six-year-old boy, who sketched out his dream cake, must have been delighted with the result.

He or she spent a large amount of time drawing his Star Wars-themed cake, making sure to put every single detail in there, from the characters on top to the candy canes and cookies around the sides.

And the baker who took on the job sent him a cake that faithfully produced his wobbly sketch, down to the last lollipop.

The baker’s husband, redditor MarryHumpsRowdy, posted side-by-side images of the six-year-old’s drawing and the finished cake, captioning the photos: ‘My wife made a cake exactly how her six-year-old client imagined it.’

And we think she’s done a pretty good job for her client.

Apparently not everyone agrees though. Because obviously, the… Read the full story

What would you text your ex if it could be completely anonymous? (Picture: The Unsent Project/Instagram)

If you could say anything to your ex, without fear of repercussions, what would you say?

That was the simple starting point for 19-year-old Californian conceptual artist Rora Blue and her ‘Unsent Project’.

The project draws together hundreds of texts that will never be sent, using the prompt: ‘State your first love’s name and type what you would say if you sent them a text message. Also include the color that you think of when you think of your first love’.

‘I started the project as a way for people to connect with each other,’ Rora explained to Metro.co.uk.… Read the full story

We Fix Your Adverts is the new Twitter account which likes to inject a little honesty (and swears) into advertising.

They take all those annoying ads you see around London’s public transport network and make them better.

It was started earlier this month by two comedy writers – Aaron Gillies, the man behind the popular Technically Ron account, and James Menzies.

‘Advertising is just ripe for parody, ads are everywhere and have become a part of our day to day, so we thought subverting the norms of advertising could generate a few laughs,’ Aaron told Metro.co.uk

It would be magical if there was a pick up line out there that was guaranteed to get you a date with the people you fancied.

Which is what we imagine this guy was thinking when he asked Redditors for their best pick up lines.

This thread produced gems like ‘Do you have a raisin? No? How about a date?’

And ‘Girl I put the STD in stud, all I need is u.’

As one person commented, the answers wouldn’t have been much different if they’d asked for the worst pick up lines ever.

Fantasies don’t need to be shameful. (Picture: The School of Life/YouTube)

For some people it’s the idea of being spanked that gets them hot and bothered, while others dream of being fed grapes by doting men.

Whatever it is that gets you going, rest assured that someone else out there has fantasied about the same thing.

But despite kinkier sex entering the mainstream with books like 50 Shades of Grey – heck there was even a bondage segment on This Morning – many of us are still too ashamed to talk about our fantasies openly.

Butchers make tough vegan food critics (Picture: Facts/YouTube)

Unless you happen to be a vegan butcher (yeah that’s a thing), we’d expect a butcher to be the most critical when it comes to meatless dishes.

Making them excellently suited to the task of judging whether vegan food is any good or not when they try it for the first time.

To establish this, Brian and Dave from The Dublin Meat Company tested some food from Happy Food vegan restaurant in Dublin in a video for Facts.

And here’s what we learned:

Antother unfeasibly attractive person with a normal job has surfaced and he’s getting people all hot and bothered.

As evidenced by the reaction to this doctor, for some reason we can’t get over the fact that people with normal jobs should possess above-average looks.

This ridiculously good-looking man with a normal job happens to be vet.

And apparently, the fact he saves the lives of animals on a day-to-day basis is even more reason for people to swoon over him.

Evan Antin is a California-based vet. And yes, people think he is just as adorable as his patients.

Ever since he first started posting photos of himself on Instagram, people have been falling head over heels.

Being an animal expert and exotic animal veterinarian, Evan has spent six years travelling six continents to treat animals in need.

And obviously, he’s also a part-time model and has worked as a personal trainer. Figures.

People are wondering if he’s the hottest veterinarian alive.

Because, just look at… Read the full story

Man’s divorce finally comes through, so new girlfriend makes hilarious cake to celebrate

We’re guessing this man’s ex-wife will be a little wounded at his new girlfriend’s way of celebrating the end of a marriage.

Of course, there could be many reasons for divorce and not all partners end on bad terms afterwards.

But, it seems this divorce really was a revolution for one man, as he actually ended up holding a party to celebrate the end of – what appears to be – a bad era.

And to help him celebrate, his new girlfriend took it upon herself to make him a cake. Oh, and it was Star Wars themed too.

MORE: Six-year-old designs his own cake – mum gives him EXACTLY what he asks for

Reddit user AskJoshy, a friend of the newly-divorced man, posted a photo of the cake – which while is hilarious, could also be a little hurtful to his ex-wife. If she’s prone to scrolling through Reddit, that is.

Ah, that time of the month.

Okay, it’s more like ‘ouch’ that time of the month, in all honesty.

When all you want to do is snuggle down with a hot water bottle, a bar of chocolate in one hand, a packet of Feminax in the other, crying to films you normally laugh at, wondering when this emotional time of your life will come to an end.

Sometimes, we don’t like to be touched. Our stomachs can hurt so bad that the slightest touch is painful.

Sometimes, we’re a little irritable. So basically, it’s best you just stay clear of us for the next few days.

And okay, we get it. We may not look our best. But you know what, when we’re getting spotty and looking slightly pregnant from all the water retention, wearing clothes that flaunt our figures isn’t really what we’re bothered about around this time.

So when Reddit user, who posts under the username chrisflynn85,… Read the full story

So-called ‘high-end bleeds’ see healthy, shiny hair coloured in vibrant shades that bleed from one into the other.

One of the salons working with the look – Not Another Salon on London’s Brick Lane – is only three months old but is already making waves in the world of hair.

They have launched a campaign, Bye Bye Grungy Dip Dye, Hello High End Bleed, that takes a fresh look at the growing trend for non-natural colour.

Do you know what the inside of a plain glazed doughnut has been missing all this time?

No, it’s not jam. Jam has been done plenty of times before and it’s getting a bit boring really.

We’re talking about stuffing the inside of an already gloriously sticky glazed doughnut with a whole other pastry, because two pastries are clearly better than one.

And that extra pastry is a cinnamon bun.

We have Chef Thiago Silva to thank for this winning fried food duo. Watch him tear into his creation here:
