awkward

No matter how cool we pretend to be, we’re all a bunch of secret odd bods.

Ever danced the funkiest dance your little body could manage? Or indulged in a bumper secret selfie session to rival the vanity of Kim K?

Have you decided that there is nothing wrong with rifling through someone else’s bathroom cabinet? Or lost whole periods of your day because you’re too busy imagining what it would be like to marry Britney Spears?

Yep, you aren’t alone because we’re all guilty of doing awkward things in secret.

1. Imaginary conversations

You are obviously aware of your amazing wit, but little does everyone know that this doesn’t come as naturally as it seems.

Nope, your sassy one liners and intellectual yet interesting facts are carefully devised through having numerous imaginary conversations with yourself, in order to prepare yourself for every single possible social situation.

2. Throw shapes

In public you opt for a safe foot shuffle, a polite clap… Read the full story

Things are getting a bit steamy in Tesco.

One London store had a cheeky Valentine’s Day serving suggestion for its customers this week.

Forget red roses and M&S romantic meals-for-two, the staff at this Tesco have got something a little more naughty in mind.

They decided to pop their ‘Ideal for Valentine’s’ sign, not among the flowers or the chocolates, but underneath the cans of spray cream.

The cheeky display was spotted by Spencer William le Grys, from Maidstone, Kent, and shared on the Sh*t London Facebook page yesterday with the comment: ‘Tesco you naughty supermarket you!’

Okay, time to get excited.

We’ve seen Kendall and Kylie Jenner clothing ranges before, sure. But those were collaborations, with only a bit of Jenner involvement and designed for teens who idolised the two youngest Kardashian-Jenners.

This, however, is something all together different.

This is a collection designed by Kendall and Kylie alone – free of other big brands, designed for young adults, and with a strong fashion-y edge.

Presenting Kendall + Kylie.

This is not a happy face. (Picture: YouTube/Bria and Chrissy)

Circumcision isn’t all that common in the UK. But across the pond, everyone’s at it.

It’s estimated that 80% of men in the U.S. have been circumcised, many for non-religious reasons of health and cleanliness.

The procedure is performed when men are babies, so they don’t remember the experience in later life. As a result, the majority of circumcised men in the U.S. are perfectly willing to have their future sons circumcised, despite not really understanding the experience.

So Bria and Chrissy, the women behind lesbians touching penises, gay men touching breasts, and Read the full story

Good luck leaving on time (Picture: Getty)

The words ‘get up and go’ do not exist in parenthood.

Leaving the house in the morning with children, whether it’s for the school run, the childminder or for work, becomes a work of art with military precision.

Many parents, while on maternity leave, will have wondered how the hell they’ll get to work on time when they return.

So, to help those in despair and the parents amongst us who are still late for EVERYTHING – here are 10 struggles every parent should take note of to help them prepare for a seamless exit:

Swan gif

Elderly residents in the village of Brimscombe, near Stroud, have been forced to take up arms in the fight against a pair of aggressive swans who’ve been terrorising the neighbourhood.

For over a decade, the human and feathered residents of Hope Mill Park had lived together in harmony.

But, the birds have become increasingly territorial in the last few years, and have started coming off the nearby river and attacking cars, tearing up lawns and pecking at windows – basically being total d*cks.

Long hair, don’t care (Picture: Francesca Kentish)

Back in November, I wrote about the history of why women began shaving their armpits.

The origins of women shaving in the western world are all a bit ludicrous, because it appears that the whole thing arose because of an advert in Harper’s Bazaar in 1915.

Basically, sleeveless dresses were in and some company thought: ‘Hey, why don’t we make women feel ashamed of their natural bodies and encourage them to buy a hair removal product they don’t actually need, all so we can make a load of money?’

We’ve been pretty vocal about our love for freckles.

They’re gorgeous. We want them. And we’ll go to extreme measures – meaning temporary tattoos and the effort of putting on makeup – to get them.

People admit things ‘drunk them’ did that ‘sober them’ appreciated

You know what we’re talking about.

It’s when you get home at 2am so drunk you don’t know your own name but still remember to put your half-eaten pizza in the fridge, ready for tomorrow’s breakfast.

Or the fact you somehow managed to persuade yourself not to declare your drunken love for the ex who really messed you about.

But it seems people do more than just think about food and previous loves when they’re drunk – surprisingly.

And they’re talking about it over on Reddit, after one user asked the question: ‘What did you do drunk, that sober you really appreciated?

One girl really has her life together:

9 things that say ‘don’t touch me, I’m on my period’

Mood-swings during periods can be hit and miss depending on the amount of pain we’re in and how hormonal we are.

While some people deal just fine during their time of the month, others are in excruciating pain.

And yes, our emotions are all over the place, and be a little spotty. That’s life.

But, while you may see us a little tearful, looking all snuggled up in our favourite dressing gown – it doesn’t mean we’re down to be touched or cuddled.

Here are nine things that say ‘Don’t touch me, I’m on my period’.

1. If we’re already snuggled on the sofa with a hot water bottle.

Okay, this pretty much goes for all occasions. But, if you can see the hot water bottle is right on our stomach, it probably took us an hour to get it in the correct place to fight the pain. Don’t. Touch. Us.

2. If you… Read the full story

Of course you would. You have a heart. And a stomach. And both of these organs would enjoy some pizza.

Treat your vagina. (Picture: Foria/metro.co.uk)

And yet again, people are putting things into their vaginas that are not penises, tampons, vibrators, fingers, or tongues. But this time, it might not be such a bad thing.

We’ve seen the infuriatingly awful balls of herbs promising to ‘detox’ the womb (DO NOT USE THESE), and the also terrible vagina tightening sticks (DO NOT USE THESE, EITHER).

This product is different, and nowhere near as rage-inducing. In fact, the whole thing is pretty chilled.

Foria – the same company behind marijuana filled lube – has just introduced Foria Relief Suppositories.

your heart dies

Adulthood is not necessarily something that just comes with age.

Rather, it creeps up on you, like hangovers that used to last a morning and now last a minimum of 48 painful hours.

Or piles.

But how do you know, then, when you’re a fully fledged grown-up? Well, if you can keep your debit card in your pocket while all around you lose their sh*t in Primark. And if you can sleep, and never be tired of sleeping.

Why, then you’ll be an adult, my child.

And here’s a few other signs.

1. You have learnt, through years of trial and error, that Sunday drinking does not make Monday mornings any better.

2. You know what ironing water is and you may have purchased it. In your defence, it makes the sheets smell heavenly.

3. Also scented drawer liners. There’s nothing like the smell of lavender-scented pants.

4. You buy batteries… Read the full story

Forward-thinkers in the world of ruining and revolutionising our eating habits, Japan is no stranger to creating weird and wonderful Kit Kat flavours.

Azuki bean Kit Kats. Green tea Kit Kats (which are delicious, just FYI). And now, Japan is introducing sake flavoured Kit Kats.

And the exciting bit? They actually contain alcohol.

Only 0.8%, mind, so not exactly enough to get sloshed. But still. You can pretend.

We’ll be honest. This doesn’t sound too appealing. Especially when remembering the last time we attempted shots of sake, and almost cried a little bit.

Swiping at 4am? Stop it. (Picture: Getty)

Swiping through Tinder at 2am in search of everlasting love? Yeah, you might want to stop that.

Not because Tinder isn’t the place to find everlasting love. It might not be the best option, but hey. You never know.

Nope, it’s all down the the time you’re using your dating apps. To maximise the number of matches and avoid swiping with no results, you’ll need to log in at peak times.

And lucky us, Nielsen‘s done some fancy research to get data on those peak times, discovering the times when the most people are on Tinder and OKCupid, and the periods where those… Read the full story

We spoke to a fitness expert to create a first timer’s guide to getting fit

giphy

By the end of January, most of us have lost the will to continue exercising and eating healthily.

Mainly, because we set ourselves ridiculous goals that we simply can’t achieve in a short time, especially if you’re a first-timer when it comes to exercise.

Which is why we got some advice from Richard Scrivener from TRAINFITNESS, to create a realistic set of guidelines to stick to.

This guide isn’t going to give you your dream body overnight, but it’s actually doable so you will see results with a little perseverance.

Richard said: ‘Getting in shape and building fitness is not especially difficult. On paper, anybody should be able to do it. Rolling out the ‘masterplan’ is a somewhat different animal. It’s not the ‘what you need to do’ that challenges most people, it’s ‘the how’.’

Here’s ‘the how’ shown in order of importance and priority:

1. Consistency is key

After one mother lost her wedding ring, she couldn’t believe where she ended up finding it.

Having looked everywhere and still being unable to find the ring, she began to think the worst. She decided, with her husband, to take their baby for an X-ray, thinking there was a small chance he may have digested it.

And it’s a good job they did, because that’s exactly where it ended up.

Posting a photo of the X-ray to Reddit, user iamclarkgriswold wrote: ‘My wife couldn’t find her wedding ring yesterday. Our baby will be a diamond mule for the next couple weeks.’

Luckily their baby is fine, and after many dissections of dirty nappies, he finally passed the ring without any pain.
