Over half of men have a special name for their penis. Go figure. (Picture: Getty)

You know when you have a genius idea, and then you do it, and then you kinda wish you hadn’t? Yeah, that.

When we heard that Channing Tatum had a name for his penis (it’s Gilbert btw. One of the top five least sexy names in the history of names), it got us thinking; how many other men have names for their willies? And what are they?

We simply had to know, and knew just the people to ask – Lovehoney (purveyors of the cheeky bedroom toys).

So, apparently couples are signing non-legal sex contracts to avoid dry spell territory.

That’s right, written agreements on stuff that will spice things up in the boudoir.

Stuff like talking more openly about sex, more foreplay, sex at least three times a week.

And p.s. sex experts are right behind getting couples (long and short term) to make them.

‘It’s a form of therapy,’ according to Dating Coach and Relationship Expert Samantha Jayne.

‘A good relationship is about being vulnerable and about communicating your needs and desires… the contract is a safe way because they are giving each other permission to open up about a need.’

Makes sense, no?

In short, always, always talk about sex.

Tiddly pomme apples

Not since the Pink Lady has an apple changed the fruit game so dramatically.

We’re not ones to pay fruity favourites (serioulsy, who are we kidding? Of course we are), but we think we have a new favourite fruit.

The Tiddly Pomme is about to hit Waitrose stores nationwide, and it’s totally rocking our world.

So what, apart from having THE cutest name in all of fruit-dom (which btw was chosen via a Facebook competition and inspired by a Winnie The Pooh rhyme), sets the Tiddly Pomme apart from the rest of the orchard?

A woman from Baltimore is campaigning to make her home more ‘relentlessly gay’ after receiving a note asking her to ‘tone it down’ from ‘concerned’ neighbours.

Julie Baker has even started a GoFundMe page so she can ‘paint her house in rainbows’ and, if she raises enough, she’ll get a rainbow roof.

Yesterday, Julie’s friend Eleanor Justice posted a picture of the note on the Facebook page of former Star Trek star and gay rights campaigner George Takei.

Eleanor wrote: ‘My friend found this note taped to her door after hanging some colorful jar lights in her yard with her daughters.

In this powerful new Cut video, women between the ages of 15 and 50 were asked to respond to one word: ‘abortion’.

Their responses are honest, emotional, and fascinating.

From the 15-year-old who responds ‘killing’, explaining ‘because they’re basically killing their baby, even though it’s still in the mum,’ to the 27-year-old who simply responds ‘okay’, adding ‘I think everyone should have the right,’ to the 47-year-old who replies: ‘very sad’.

Here are just some of the answers:

Your baby’s one year mark is approaching and you can’t believe how quickly the time has gone.

Before you know it your baby is no longer a baby and you have all sorts of new things to contend with.

Here are 19 things every parent with a one year old will understand…

1. You realise they now cry because they want something, not because they need something. There’s a huge difference between the two.

2. Every sentence includes the word ‘no’.

3. You feel bad because every sentence includes the word ‘no’.

4. After vowing not to say ‘no’ ever again, your one-year-old decides to mischievously throw their food (that you’ve spent precious time making) all over the carpet… Read the full story

In this crazy Tinder world of swipes and d*** pics, romance can sometimes feel something they used to do in the olden days.

But, this Instagram page is all the incentive you need to dust yourself off and head back into the fray.

‘The Way We Met’ page was set up by self-confessed ‘hopeless romantic’  27-year-old Brooklyn Sherman, from LA.

She set the account up two weeks ago to share stories about love.

This will give you hope (as well as some handy tips on where to meet The One).

Birthday Cake Martini

If camp cocktails are your thing, then do we have a treat for you.

As all budding 007’s know, today is World Martini Day. So we thought it was only right that we share a totally fabulous martini recipe with you.

But while Bond, James Bond, would never consider ordering anything but a classic martini (shaken not stirred, of course), here at Metro.co.uk we favour something a bit more fun, a little more frivilous. Something you can drink without needing an ambulance on standby.

Which is why our current favourite martini is the Birthday Cake Martini, created to celebrate Slug and Lettuce’s 30th birthday (which happens to be this month).

Here’s how you make one…

Ingredients:

25ml Grenadine

50ml Baileys

100ml Half & Half (half cream, half milk)

Squirty cream

Sprinkles (of course!)

Method:

– Pour the Grenadine, Baileys and Half & Half into a cocktail shaker, and top with ice.

– Shake vigorously, then strain into your martini glass.

– Top with… Read the full story

Ophthalmologists (eye docs) can tell a lot about your health by looking at the retina of your eyes.

We’re talking everything from the diagnosis of eye diseases like glaucoma and cataracts through to illnesses like diabetes, cardiovascular disease and liver disease.

And that’s why having an eye test on the regular is so important.

Here’s a few symptoms and what they might mean courtesy of Huffington Post.

Redness of the eye and/or sensitivity to light? This could translate as inflammation in the uvea, the middle part of your eye.

According to Emily Graubart, MD, an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Emory Eye Center, this ‘can be related to a systemic issue where the body’s own immune system is attacking itself’.

Proof that Brits do have inhibitions when on vacay.

Let’s be straight here, British sun-seekers don’t have a brilliant rep when it comes to holidaying abroad.

But according to Lastminute.com’s Summer Snapshot 2015 which surveyed 6,000 Europeans, UK tourists actually behave well when it comes beach-fronting.

*And* we’re prudes too. Who knew?

According to the results, 20 per cent of Brits prefer to cover up in a t-shirt or towel on the beach. Which is huge in comparison to figures in France (7 percent), Germany (7 percent), Italy (4 percent) and Spain (4 percent).

As for sunbathing topless? 30 percent of British tourists are offended by such antics, and 40 percent think it’s offensive to wear a thong when topping up the tan.

41 percent find loud… Read the full story

Utah Valley University has painted in high-vis walk, run and TEXT lanes on one of its main stairwells. Genius.

Because people who text while walking are potentially the most annoying people in the world.

Bill Gates is turning his hand to contraception.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has contributed a $5 million (£3.1m) grant to help researchers at the Oregon Health & Science University develop a non-surgical, single-dose, and potentially permanent, method of contraception.

The ambition is ‘to develop additional safe, effective, acceptable and accessible methods of permanent or very long-acting contraception that will fill an unmet need for women who have reached their desired family size and do not wish to become pregnant again.’

Which would be great news for women who have had the families they want and are left with the choice of using… Read the full story

She may just be our new favourite person.

The diva gran, who you may have spotted on Couples Come Dine With Me with her 66-year-old husband Ian earlier this year, also told MailOnline: ‘People think I’m a superstar and guess my age at 35. I always look like I’ve just walked off a movie set.

‘People are always surprised to see someone as glamorous as me walking around,’ she adds.
