It’s time to be kinder to your vagin-er. (Picture: Getty)

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – loudly and proudly, so everyone hears it.

Vaginas are not dirty. They don’t need intense cleaning. They do not need to be detoxed. They do not need to be tightened. They are self-cleaning, self-maintaining, and just need a bit of care so they can continue doing their thing.

Okay?

Now, let’s move on to exactly what that care actually entails. Because a lot of us are not being very kind to our vaginas, and that leads to all kinds of issues.

Happy St George’s Day!

He may not have actually been English (he is thought to have been Greek) and he didn’t really slay a dragon (they don’t exist) but we reckon any excuse for a celebration is OK with us.

And what better way to celebrate St George’s Day 2016 than by combining two of the country’s most loved dishes: the full English breakfast and the humble pie.

It’s a well known fact that if you REALLY want to rile people’s passions then simply question their choice of components in a ‘full English breakfast’.

Ever drifted off during a conversation and imagined punching the other person in the face for absolutely no reason?

No, you’re not secretly a psychopath hellbent on inflicting pain and destruction upon the world (unless you actually go ahead and punch them in the face. That is wrong).

EVERYONE has weird, dark, borderline-insane thoughts. They’ll pop into your mind for no apparent reason. You don’t actually want to do what your mind is suggesting, but you just need to consider an alternative reality in which you do.

It’s totally normal. Everyone thinks these things. Right?

There are some questions that pop up while you’re taking a shower and never really go away. Today’s shower question: what’s the deal with widow’s peaks?

To start with, let’s just cover what a widow’s peak actually is. It’s a hairline in the shape of a V, the bottom of the V at the front centre of the forehead.

Loads of people have one, both men and women can be blessed with a widow’s… Read the full story

Can your hair really get used to a shampoo? (Picture: Getty)

Okay hair-washing people of the internet, it’s time to bust a myth.

It’s ‘wisdom’ that’s often repeated: you have to change up the products you use on your hair after a while, otherwise your hair gets used to the ingredients and they stop being as effective.

Our friends say it. Magazines say it. GIRLY HAIR TIPS Twitter accounts say it.

But, erm, it’s not true. Nope. Your hair cannot get so used to a product that the product just stops working.

Just to confuse you, though, here’s what IS true. Your shampoo will sometimes be less effective than it was when you first started using it.

Let us explain.

The new tattoo trend everyone on Instagram’s going crazy over? The humble 3D tattoo.

No, we’re not talking about implants under the skin or those borderline terrifying tats that look like they’re revealing the muscle underneath.

We’re of course referring to the work of tattoo artist Winston the Whale.

Winston is getting loads of attention all over the internet for his nostalgic red and blue tattoos, inspired by the red and blue glasses we used to wear to watch 3D movies.

His designs are fairly minimal, sticking to simple shapes drawn in red and blue.

Red-faced people of the world, unite. I feel your pain.

We’re the people that blush at the drop of the hat. We’re the ones who can never get away with having a secret crush on someone, the people whose attempts at public speaking will always be accompanied by an internal monologue of ‘how red is my face right now?’.

We are most definitely the people who base their makeup preferences on how well foundation covers our flaming red cheeks.

It’s tough, guys. Really tough. These are the struggles only we can truly understand.

The joys of online shopping (Picture: Livy/Twitter)

As we all know, there can sometimes be somewhat of a gulf between expectation and reality when it comes to online shopping.

You know how it is. You’re expecting a dusky pink, shimmering gown that will make you look like a prom princess. In reality, it’s more something your nan would put on the bed when guests come to stay.

Alivia Briggs, a 17-year-old student at Austin High School, Alabama, recently ordered what she thought was her dream dress from Chinese site Allanhu, which supplies prom, wedding and event dresses, for $223 (£154). But she didn’t quite get the fairytale ending she hoped for.

Brazilian tattooist Tiago Lopes says he’s worked on a lot of meaningful tattoos in his time, but few have touched him in quite the way this one did.

His inking for Léo Javiel, a professional skateboarder from São Leopoldo, Brazil, has been liked millions of times across Instagram after it was finished about five weeks ago.

Because the story behind it is so incredibly touching.

Léo got the tattoo in honour of his grandmother Neiva, who pretty much raised him after his mum gave birth to him when she was only 14-years-old.

One of the main complaints we have about makeup is that we can’t get it to stay on our faces.

We spend all day talking (usually more that we should), eating (need I repeat?) and rubbing our tired eyes, so we definitely put our war paint through its paces.

Here are 5 ways to help your makeup last all day and stay put, where you want it.

How much of your life do you reckon you’ve spent asleep?

Given the number of nights we’ve spent watching the clock as it ticks ever closer to the time our alarm is set to go off, we’d be tempted to answer ‘not enough’.

But, thanks to a new online sleep calculator created by Hillarys, you can now get a slightly more accurate answer.

Just type your current age into the new online tool called My Life Asleep and not only will it tell you how much of your life you’ve spent asleep, it will also give you an estimate how how long you’ve spent dreaming, and how many calories you’ve burnt while… Read the full story

The Ketchup ‘n’ Fries plant is now being sold in Morrisons (Picture: Morrisons)

Introducing the TomTato plant. Or, as it’s more commonly known, the Ketchup ‘n’ Fries plant.

Sadly, for the lazy consumers among us, it doesn’t grow teeny tiny little bottles of Heinz Tomato Ketchup and little cartons of fries, but it does grow fresh cherry tomatoes and potatoes in one pot at the same time, which is pretty neat.

The hybrid pot plant was developed for the UK market by Ipswich-based gardening firm Thompson and Morgan in 2013 and is now being sold by Morrisons in UK supermarkets for the first time.

And that isn’t even the most romantic part of this story.

Food and lifestyle blogger Ashley Fryer took to Twitter yesterday afternoon to try and track down the couple who she saw getting engaged at around 2.25pm on the finish line.

‘If you got engaged on the finish line at the #LondonMarathon, I caught it on camera! Shout if you want the pics!’ she wrote.

Let’s be real here, most of us have experienced some pretty awkward things during sex.

Whether it’s being walked in on by your parents, accidentally screaming your ex’s name, or worse, we’ve all faced some sort of sexual embarrassment that will probably haunt us until the day we die.

*And as a heads up, this story is obviously a bit NSFW*

But, what you’ve got to admit, is how funny awkward situations are when they don’t involve you.

And so, to give you a bit of a laugh at other people’s expense, one Reddit user asked the question: ‘What was the most awkward thing you’ve experienced during sex?’

And, as expected, some of the answers are just golden.

Like this guy’s. Oh my god.

Last Friday some photos of Prince George meeting Barack Obama went viral.

Staying up past his bedtime to meet the US president, pictures of Prince George shaking his hand and riding a rocking horse bought for him by Barack and his wife Michelle left users of the internet feeling pretty excited.

So excited, in fact, that for some people, these photos weren’t enough. And so, they decided to make their own. Of course, when we say they ‘made their own’, what we really mean is they took to Photoshop to have some fun.

This is why you keep losing your socks in the wash

socks gif

Finally, science has applied its giant collective brain to a problem that has always niggled us – where do all those odd socks go?

According to research, Brits lose 1.3 socks on average per month. That is, 15 socks a year. Or, if you prefer, 1,264 lost socks in the average lifetime.

Which is an awful lot of lost socks.

It’s also slightly baffling. Because we don’t know about you, but we certainly don’t purchase 15 new pairs of socks a year, which would surely result in a massive sock deficit at some stage in life.
