From Velma’s geek chic specs to Daphne’s iconic purple dress, the Scooby Doo gang have always been style gurus in their own right.

Illustrator Julia Wytrazek, noticing how the characters’ outfits were subtlety tweaked and updated over the years, decided to re-imagine the crime-fighting pals in all the different fashions of the 20th century.

Drawing on the characters’ personalities – such as Daphne’s sass and Fred’s squareness – Julia pictured how they’d dress and what trends they’d identify with in each different decade.

Sleeping in a messy room might be ruining your sleep

It’s been a busy week, ok? Don’t judge. (Picture: Getty)

Hmm. This might explain why we’re always so tired.

A new study has found that sleeping in a messy room may cause people to feel more tired the next day, as well as contributing to feelings of stress and aggravating mental illness.

Researchers found that people with hoarder-tendencies, who have more stuff filling the space in their bedroom, took longer to fall asleep than those who keep their rooms neat and tidy. This led to them feeling more tired the next day, making them more likely to let things stay cluttered.

It’s a very messy and tired cycle.

As part of the study, people were asked questions to judge their… Read the full story

In today’s slightly concerning news, new research has found that around one in ten people are unable to stop drinking once they’ve started.

A new YouGov survey has found that 12 per cent of people say they find it difficult to stop drinking once they start on their first glass.

Worryingly, a small percentage of those people report that this happens on a weekly or nightly basis.

The research also found that alcohol is mostly being consumed by 18-24 year-olds, with 36 per cent drinking to a ‘harmful’ extent.

Meanwhile, 29 per cent of the general population are currently considered to be drinking to ‘harmful’, or ‘harmful… Read the full story

Here are 17 things you only really appreciate about your dad when you’re a dad too.

1. How hard he worked

Whether he was cramming for professional exams, juggling multiple crap jobs, working every hour god sent or trying to protect the family when his job was axed, you didn’t realise how hard he was working to keep you safe and secure.

Father's Day
You have catchphrases (Picture: Getty)

When you were little, dad was a superhero – and when you were a teenager, he was the most embarrassing person on earth.

Now? He’s you – or rather, you’re him. Here are 21 signs that you’re turning into your dad.

1. Hair has stopped growing there and started there

If male pattern baldness is in your genes, it’s doing to your scalp what loggers do to Amazonian rain forests.

Meanwhile somebody appears to have replaced your eyebrows with steel cables and there are horrific things growing in your ears and nose.

2. You have catchphrases

Terrible, terrible catchphrases.

3. Young people look stupid

Skirts are too short, trousers too low, t-shirts too tight. Do their parents know they’re out like that?

4. You don’t listen… Read the full story

Ever been stuck behind a massive truck, unable to see what’s ahead of you, debating whether to edge out and overtake or not?

Then, you might be interested in these new ‘Safety Trucks’. They use a wireless camera attached to the front of the truck, which connects to a video wall on the back, to show drivers the road ahead.

This way, even on single lane roads, drivers will be able to overtake trucks safely.

Samsung Argentina is hoping its new trucks will reduce the number of accidents caused by drivers overtaking trucks on single lane roads, unaware of what’s ahead of them.

In Argentina, almost one person dies in a traffic accident every hour. Most occur in overtaking situations when drivers can’t see what’s… Read the full story

How do you make a free picnic with actual piglets and a sunset over London’s Docklands even better? Why, make it for a good cause of course.

Yes, the infamous ‘pignic’ in London happened this weekend and, along with some super-cute tiny piglets – the smallest breed in the world and often called ‘micro pigs’ – the event came with an important message about the responsibilities that come with taking on a piglet as a pet.

Hosted by Yelp and Petpiggies, the pignic aimed to educate the public about realistic size expectations of so-called ‘micro-pigs’ – which can grow to the size of a dog and live for up to 15 years or more – in the hope that fewer pet pigs… Read the full story

Meet Hyomyung Shin. Sitting in his PJs in his bedroom, you’d be forgiven for thinking he’s yet to hit his teens.

But, according to Korean news site Koreaboo.com, he’s a 26-year-old man.

Yes, we’re a *little* sceptical too.

Dubbed the Peter Pan of South Korea, Shin says he enjoys drinking beer, going on dates, and clubbing on the weekends. But, he says, he hasn’t yet hit puberty, because he suffers from a rare condition known as ‘Highlander Syndrome’.

The condition has apparently caused his body to age at a very slow – almost imperceptible – rate.

File photo dated 01/12/06 of a man drinking a pint of beer as drinking three alcoholic drinks a day can cause liver cancer, research has suggested. PRESS ASSOCIATION Photo. Issue date: Wednesday March 25, 2015. Being overweight or obese and consuming foods contaminated by aflatoxins (toxins produced by certain fungi) also showed "strong evidence" of causing the disease, the World Cancer Research Fund said. Its research, which analysed 34 studies involving 8.2 million people, more than 24,500 of whom had liver cancer, also suggested higher consumption of coffee "probably" protects against liver cancer, while physical activity and fish consumption may also decrease the risk although further research is needed. Aflatoxins are produced by inappropriate storage of food and are generally an issue related to foods from warmer… <a href=Read the full story

Some things never change. EastEnders storylines, Great British summer washouts, and, apparently, puppies losing it at dinnertime.

Redditor disillusioned posted this adorable timelapse of her Golden Retriever puppies Colby & Bleu yesterday with the note: ‘I’ve been recording my golden retriever pups running to dinner from 11 weeks to 11 months. Watch them grow!’

The 90 second clip has already had almost half a million views. Because puppies.

The most adorable thing about the clip is that, despite running the same race every day, the pups never quite work out how to corner properly.
