Twitter user Lauryn is the sort of teen who gets easily distracted. 

Well, that’s the way it looks, anyway. Because according to her Twitter, Lauryn was supposed to be revising when one thing led to another and she ended up seeing how many pens she could hold using her head instead.

It’s not something we spend much time thinking about. You toast one another, you ‘cheers’, you clink glasses, and then the rest is (often forgotten) history.

But why do we clink glasses while staring into each other’s eyes. And what exactly has toast got to do with anything?

Well, apparently, the custom of raising a glass to one another before drinking originated with the Romans and the Greeks (surprise, surprise), who used to offer wine to their gods before celebrations.

The expression ‘to toast’, meanwhile, does actually come from the practice of putting a piece of toast in your drink. It was something people did in Elizabethan times to improve the taste of wine – the bread soaked up some of the acidity in poor wines.

It also helped stretch supplies further in times of scarcity, by softening stale bread.

Sure, no one may have asked for this. But it’s exactly what we deserve.

KFC is now making its own line of nail polishes. They’re edible. They’re called ‘Finger Lickin’ Good’ polishes. And yes, they taste like chicken.

KFC Hong Kong has released nail polishes in two chicken-y flavours: Hot & Spicy and Original Recipe.

They worked with food technicians at McCormick – the spice company behind KFC’s secret spice and herb mix – to create the polishes (which are entirely edible, so you’re free to lick your fingers to your heart’s desire).

Reuben and Rebekah are a couple who like to play pranks on each other. 

Their most recent video saw Reuben getting his own back on Rebekah for waxing half of his eyebrow off while he was asleep.

Here’s how he got her back.

He crept into the bathroom when she wasn’t looking and mixed fake tan into her pot of foundation.

The next morning, with a hidden camera he captured Rebekah innocently applying her foundation.

26-year-old Samantha Chirichella was preparing to start a new $70,000-a-year job as a staff investigator for Con Edison, one of the largest energy companies in the US, when her job offer was completely revoked following a background check. 

But it wasn’t a criminal record or anything of the sort that caused her offer to be withdrawn.

No, it was in fact a photo that had been posted to her Instagram three years ago.

According to the New York Daily News, Con Edison had been performing background checks on Samantha when their legal services department flagged up the photo – which featured Samantha posing for a lesbian shoot.

The photo, which was actually produced for her friend’s art exhibit, saw Samantha posing topless for a mirrored image where she had her lips to a nipple.

There’s been many a beauty trend that we’ve not been totally sure of. 

Such as when people started contouring their feet, or giving themselves chiselled cheeks with a ruler.

But finally, there’s something that we are sure of. The liquid-lipstick-liner. Basically, it is what it says on the tin: people are using liquid lipstick to achieve the perfect cat’s eye.

Why? Because bold-coloured liners – bar the obvious, black – are pretty limited.

Claire Danes’ magical light-up Cinderella dress totally stole the show at this year’s Met Gala.

Cinderella went to the Met Ball and it was all thanks to US fashion designer Zac Posen.

The designer has now revealed what went into making the dream dress and, despite what we might have thought – or dreamt – there were no cartoon mice called Jaq, Gus, Major, and Bruno, or Fairy Godmothers, involved.

It actually took six people around 600 hours to make.
