So it’s Cinco de Mayo today.

What do you mean you don’t know what that is?

Well, if you speak a tiny bit of Spanish you’ll be able to tell that it means 5th of May.

Cinco de Mayo is one of the most misunderstood festivals there is, so to clear up any confusion, here’s everything you need to know.

It’s Mexican Independence Day, right?

Sorry but no. This is one of the most common misconceptions about Cinco de Mayo – Mexican Independence Day is actually on 16 September.

But it does take place on the 5th May?

Ladies – it’s time to talk solo sex

So it’s International Masturbation Month (May) 2016.

And what perfect timing because hands up, ladies, who likes to admit they dot their ‘i’s?

It seems men joke about fapping all the time.

Meanwhile I have female friends my age (34) who insist they don’t own any sex toys and ‘aren’t really into it’.

Or they flush red and genuinely change the subject to shoes, because that is an Approved Ladies’ Conversation Topic.

Well, here I go again, writing something some will consider an overshare, and others too tame.

I’m writing it anyway because these things must be said.

Here’s 12 reasons why every woman needs to talk about female… Read the full story

It’s International Day of the Midwife today (5 May) and as anyone who’s been supported through childbirth by a midwife will know, these women (and men) do an amazing job of looking after women and their partners and delivering our babies.

In 2014-15, according to the Health and Social Care Information Centre, the almost 22,000 midwives in England conducted 53.5 per cent (276,643) of all deliveries which rose to 87.0 per cent (265,710) for spontaneous deliveries.

After two pretty straightforward births I was expecting a quick and easy labour with my third baby. It wasn’t to be and a planned home birth turned into a quick trip by ambulance to hospital followed… Read the full story

Homeless man says teen who buys him breakfast every day has done more than anyone else in the last 30 years

This has got to be the weirdest hair removal cream review you will ever read

As most of us can probably agree, buying a product that doesn’t live up to its promise is incredibly annoying.

And when this happens, there are two ways to deal with it.

One is to just bin it, move on and never buy it again.

Then there’s the other, which is to unleash hell on earth on the product sellers in the form of an internet review.

Because no one is bolder or more irate than a disgruntled online shopper.

Sometimes, just scrolling through internet reviews is a hilarious way to waste to 15 minutes.

Until you’re met with a review so weird it will make you want to disconnect your WiFi forever.

Like this one, which was left on Amazon for the Veet for Men Hair Removal Gel Cream product. It was left in 2012 but it was a review so searingly, eye-wateringly bad, that it’s made a reappearance.

This guy had bought the product – ignoring all the reviews complaining about… Read the full story

In the midst of all your scrolling through the shiny dresses and stunning beauty looks from the Met Gala, there was probably only one hairstyle from the event that really stood out above the rest (literally).

We are, of course, referring to Lupita Nyong’o’s glorious gravity-defying up-do.

It was bold. It was pretty. It was magnificent.

And, as Lupita Nyong’o stated on the red carpet, it was inspired by all kinds of references celebrating black womanhood and beauty, ranging from Nina Simone to traditional styles from around Africa.

What if you never had to wash your socks again?

Imagine if you could get away with wearing the same pair of socks, day in, day out, without anyone noticing, without any of your work colleagues asking to be moved away from you.

Just imagine a world where sock mountains don’t hide in dark corners of your room waiting to be washed. A world where you will never have to wash and, thus will never lose, another damn sock again.

‘What were you wearing?’

It’s ridiculous that this is one of the first questions people are asked when they share their experience of rape or sexual assault.

But it’s still being asked all the time. Because people STILL think, on some level, that victims of sexual assault are in some way to blame for the actions of someone else.

That’s what photographer Katherine Cambareri wants to take down with her new photo series – the idea that what someone is wearing in any way causes sexual assault.

‘Well, What Were You Wearing?’ shares the… Read the full story

She has shared her experience to warn others seeking laser surgery to do ‘extensive research’ on their surgeon beforehand.

There is nothing Gill won’t do for a discount, it seems.

A fitness fan from Rotherham got a little more than he bargained for when he put his treadmill up for sale on Gumtree recently.

After Lee Kucia, 31, posted his ad online, he received a text from a woman called Gillian on Sunday morning, asking ‘Hi, regarding your advert on Gumtree is the treadmill still for sale?’.

He replied: ”Hi, yes it is. Which one is it you are interested in as I have two. Lee.’

16-year-old Hayley Lack and her girlfriend were overjoyed to find they had been nominated for prom king and queen alongside two other straight couples by students at Foothill High School in California.

People want Disney to #GiveElsaAGirlfriend because of the lack of LGBT representation in their films

So, as you can imagine, they were pretty pissed off when the nominations list was taken to their school administrator and it was decided that same-sex couples would not be eligible for either prom role.

‘This is blatant discrimination and I won’t stand for it anymore,’ Hayley told her Facebook friends.

Refusing to allow said discrimination to take place, the girls took matters into their own hands.

Posting her story online and getting the attention of various media outlets, Hayley spread the word of a petition she’d started with her classmates.

It asked that their High School’s administration honoured the original votes… Read the full story

Everyone and their mum has an Instagram account these days. Every dog with a cute haircut. Where’s Wally. Hipster Barbie.

So are we really surprised that the ghost from The Grudge has her own Instagram? Nah.

What we are surprised by its sheer brilliance and joy.

Started just a few months ago, the ghost’s Instagram account shows Kayako with her ghost son Toshio, doing all the regular mum and son stuff mums and sons do.

It’s actually pretty sweet, once you get passed Kayako’s constant screaming face and the part where they’re, erm, both fictional ghosts.
