(Picture: Mel Watts/Facebook)

Mel Watts, the woman behind The Modern Mumma, recently shared a seriously relatable story for any parents struggling to maintain the romance.

In a Facebook post that has received over 6,000 likes since yesterday, Mel wrote: ‘If someone told me years ago that my relationship would one day change, I would have laughed and said no way.’

She speaks in her post about lying in bed crying while it was her time of the month, noticing her husband ‘snoring his busy week away’ while she thought about all the things they used to do as a couple.

Doug gets the best welcome (Picture: Wild at Heart Rescue/Facebook)

This is the moment GiGi the gigantic great horned owl recognised the man who saved her life and gave him a massive welcome hug.

The man is Douglas Pojeky, aka ‘the bird whisperer’. He’s the president of the the Wild at Heart Rescue centre in Mississippi.

He was part of the team that nursed GiGi back to health after she was brought into the centre, fighting for her life last month. The owl had suffered severe head trauma and was concussed – staff thought she had probably been hit by a car. She also had problems breathing and was crawling with parasites.

Finally. (Picture: Getty)

We know we shouldn’t eat raw cookie dough straight from the bowl. It’s dangerous. We could actually die. But it’s just so. damn. good.

So we are eternally grateful to M&S for giving us our dream: the option to enjoy the taste of unbaked cookies, without risking death, sickness, or concern from our mums.

M&S is now selling magical cookie dough bites. As the name suggests, they’re little bite-size pieces of cookie dough, covered in milk chocolate. *Drools*

They’ve actually been around for a while now, but have just started to pop up in shops this month.

Throughout my years as a makeup artist I have done hundreds of weddings and pretty much all brides have the same request to look flawless, radiant, and a slightly more glamorous version of themselves.

They also want a look that’s able to last through tears, dancing, and all weather conditions, from rain to heat and humidity.

These products are staples in my bridal kit and I rely on them for nearly all my brides as they last all day and really do help create a radiant bridal look.

Disney princesses have a lot to answer for.

They’ve given us seriously unrealistic expectations about romance, our waistlines, and the power of a group singalong.

But most of all, Disney princesses lied to us about hair and makeup. Which is deeply unfair, because we were young when we first watched those films and we genuinely believed that when we grew up, our hair would be just as glorious as that of a Disney princess.

We were wrong. We’re disappointed, and it’s all Disney’s fault.

What if you could develop your skills in delivering female pleasure, try out new techniques, and explore the magic of the vagina without pestering your significant other and wasting their time on moves that don’t quite work?

One app wants to let you do just that – in a super artsy, fun way. And one that doesn’t involve having a giant vagina on your iPhone screen.

Domestic abuse in LGBT relationships

The dangerous hidden secret that shows how real homophobia still is

Have the guts to let her know that you’re not interested otherwise she’ll never know where she stands.

Or, if you’re not into honesty, you could follow in this guy’s (accidental) footsteps.

After not replying to a text he’d received from a girl he was talking to, he received another.

Honestly, we’ve all worried about whether a second text is too risky and whether we’d be seen as being ‘clingy’, so we can totally sympathise.

But apparently, for Twitter user Dan O’Hara, this was just way too much. And so he took a screenshot of the conversation to send to the lads over in group chat.

Only, it backfired

Yum. (Picture: Instagram/cheatdayeats)

Sadly, we live in a world in which it’s considered inappropriate to eat birthday cake for breakfast… and on a day that isn’t your birthday. And that is a crying shame.

But our breakfasts could be changed forever by the latest glorious creation from Chef Thiago Silva (the same guy who dared to put a cinnamon roll inside a doughnut).

Presenting the birthday cake croissant.

It’s a croissant baked with sprinkles in the dough for a rainbow effect, and filled with a scrumptious mascarpone filling in place of buttercream.

He called it his ‘greatest high school achievement’.

Of the new trend for baby Bettes and little Busters, babycenter.au explains: ‘They were names closely associated with our grandparents’ and great-grandparents’ generations. I think that the comeback is partly due to people’s associations with the names.’

In the eternal battle to make food more Instagrammable, there may be a new camp to root for.

Death to rainbow food. We’re tired of it. Let us welcome a new era – an era of galaxy food.

Galaxy food is any type of food – doughnuts, macarons, cakes, whatever – decorated to look like a photograph of space. And yes, it’s totally out of this world.

The technique has actually been around for a while, but galaxy food is now rising up to take the ‘most Instagram-friendly food’ crown from the rainbow madness that’s swept the globe.

The trend is absolutely magical.

We all need a Sammy in our lives. (Picture: Facebook/CampusCat Augsburg)

Forget nap pods and yoga sessions – this is the only form of de-stressing we want in our universities.

For years, the University of Augsburg in Bavaria, southern Germany, has played host to a very special visitor: a little ginger cat whose only mission is to give students soothing snuggles.

To be clear, the cat hasn’t been hired by the university’s staff. She just started popping on to campus when she was one year old, realised she liked hanging around with students, and has been paying the university a visit every day since then.

World gin day – it’s real, and it’s happening this week.

It launched 8 years ago and, rather than dismiss it as YET ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE DAYS, it was an excuse to drink more gin, so everyone was sort of ok with it and it’s still going.

To celebrate the day (11 June), Gordon’s and Tanqueray want to teach you about gin, while feeding you gin.

Louise the koala is a teeny tiny koala joey that was found by a resident of the area, Louise Haynes (who she’s named after). Haynes found little Louise on the ground of a chicken pen in Hawkes Nest, Australia, following storms.

An older koala – who’s assumed to be Louise’s mother – was spotted in a tree above, but showed no interest in the little joey’s distress.

These magical plant pots float and spin in mid-air and we’re totally hypnotised

floating plant pots

Remember when we collectively lost our minds over those magical floating bonsai trees? Well, this new Kickstarter campaign is taking that idea to another level.

LYFE plant pots feature a design that’s been specially made for Tillandsia, – also known as air plants – a type of plant that absorbs nutrients from the air through their leaves, rather than the roots (so they don’t need soil).

The pots use magnetic levitation to make Tillandsia plants float in the air, which is magical enough in itself. But there’s an even more exciting bit: the pots also gently rotate as they float, ensuring that plants get an even amount of sunlight exposure on all sides, every day of the year.

Each one also has a handy hidden drainage system that pushes water into a reservoir to prevent over-watering.
