Ugh. (Picture: Getty)

You’ve woken up at 1pm with a mouth dryer than a sandpit. Your head is pounding. You want only to eat cheese covered fries and gently weep at your mistakes.

But you get up and decide you’ll go to the gym. That’s a good idea, right? That’ll make you a proper responsible adult? You’ll sweat out your hangover, feel all fresh and accomplished, and then go about your day feeling all proud and full of endorphins.

Erm, maybe don’t.

Turns out that not only will a hangover do nothing to help your hangover, it could actually make your day a whole lot worse.

Happy World Gin Day 2016!

Yes, forget Christmas, it’s the most wonderful time of the year for adults who think gin’s just the tonic.

If you want to celebrate you could just stay home with a G&T (just read this before buying that lime).

Or you can hit the town and try one of the many specialist venues in London that knows gin’s the thing.

With bars serving up everything from classic martinis, gimlets and negronis to incredibly complicated gin cocktails involving teas, herbs and flowers, you’re spoilt for choice in… Read the full story

This new workout trend lets you get fit by being a mermaid

Overall, being an adult isn’t really anything like we dreamed it would be. We don’t wear fancy suits and get private cars to work. We don’t live in a massive house with a slide instead of stairs. We have to do responsible adult things like doing laundry and exercising.

And the biggest disappointment of all? We are not mermaids. It just never happened. We’re still devastated.

But this news makes things a tiny bit better.

A hotel in California has combined a grownup thing we have to do – working out – with something we’ve always wanted to do – be a mermaid.

Recently single? Just go ahead and skip that Sunday brunch with all your coupled up friends. You don’t need that sh*t.

The much better option: a museum dedicated to breakups and the shattered pieces of your heart. Sounds fun, right?

A new museum in Los Angeles, The Museum of Broken Relationships, showcases all the leftover objects sifted from the wreckage of splits. Each object has been submitted by an ordinary person who’s broken up with or lost a loved one, and is shown alongside a little note explaining its significance.

There’s more to BBQs than vegetable skewers. (Picture: Getty)

Vegans and vegetarians get a bit of a rubbish deal when it comes to the joy of summer BBQs.

We’re mostly left with sad salads, crisps, and empty hot dog buns. Maybe a vegetable skewer if we’re lucky.

You guys, it doesn’t have to be this way. There are loads of delicious vegan and vegetarian barbecue options that are so damn good, even diehard meat-lovers will want a plateful.

One such meat-lover is DJ Seth Troxler, who recently opened up super-meaty restaurant Smokey Tails (you should go whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or omnivorous. Everything is delicious). He’s shared some of his favourite vegan and vegetarian salad and… Read the full story

Got to try them all!

There simply aren’t enough hours in the day to sing the praises of gin – although we’ve spent many wobbly nights trying.

In honour of World Gin Day, we say eschew your traditional London gins and push the boat out with some rather exciting, and often unusual, infusions…

1. Seaweed gin (Dà Mhìle)

This gin needs three weeks of infusing with seaweed picked straight from the Celtic coast (yes, it is slightly green – but that just adds to the authenticity).

Be real. Deep down, we are all just little babies pretending to be adults, acting like we don’t want to throw tantrums, roll around on the floor, and spend the day colouring in.

There is no occasion that this truth is truer than our birthdays.

On our birthdays we are brats. We demand cake. We want presents. We seriously consider asking our parents to give us a pony.

So are we really surprised that the latest trend in birthday celebrations is staging a massive photoshoot to document the moment you smash your hands and face into a birthday cake?

We fill our social media feeds with perfectly filtered pictures of our Valentine’s Day presents, videos of proposals, and full albums of wedding photographs.

So why don’t we apply the same dedication to documenting our breakups?

24-year-old Catherine Meisenburg just got divorced. She’d been with her husband since she was fourteen and they’d been married for a few years.

‘We were childhood sweethearts,’ she told the Daily Mail Australia.

Then, Catherine claims, her husband cheated on her.

‘He was cheating on me, always lying, always out with his friends,’ she said. ‘It took me a while to leave him, it took me about three years to have the courage… Read the full story

Gin. Ah, what’s not to love about the finest spirit there is.

Whether it’s the aqua allure of a Bombay Sapphire that draws you in or a classic Gordon’s that floats your boat, there is no denying that, when it comes to the king of spirits, gin takes the crown.

For those of you who are still to be convinced, and prefer a Baileys to a Beefeater or a Tequila to a Tanqueray, here’s 15 reasons why gin is the only spirit you need in your life.

It’s the hot button issue of our time: to pee or not to pee?

In the shower, we mean. Everyone has to wee.

But whether or not it’s okay to take a piss while getting clean is a fiercely debated question that’s broken friendships, torn apart relationships, and made people seriously question their housemate’s personal hygiene.

We see both sides. We get it. There may never be a resolution to this eternal question.

But we now have mathematical evidence to back up the pro-weeing-in-the-shower camp.

We’ve all been told to put down our phones, to look up, to start appreciating the moment.

Well, turns out all those ‘LIVE IN THE MOMENT, UGH, MILLENNIALS ARE SO ADDICTED TO THEIR PHONES’ people could be massively screwing us over. Maybe we shouldn’t feel bad for needing to Instagram every meal, sunset, and cute dog we see.

New research suggests that taking the time to document a moment, rather than just living it, actually makes us enjoy the moment more.

Quiz: Should you send her a dick pic? Credit: Getty
Context is key. (Picture: Getty/metro.co.uk)

The dick pic truly is one of the most sensual art forms.

A good dick pic is worth a thousand sexts, declaring all that needs to be declared with just one image of an erect penis. Your erect penis. Because it is such a sight to behold.

So why do some women get so pissed off when you bless them with such a glorious treat for the eyes?

It’s all down to context and timing, buddy. If your sexting partner has enthusiastically asked for a photo of your dick, you know the response will probably be a good one.
