If there’s one thing that soothes our souls and brings us inner piece, it’s carbs.

Carbs of all kinds (apart from cupcakes that look like pimples, but we’re just going to pretend those don’t exist). Pasta. Pizza. Potatoes.

So this Instagram – this magical Instagram where one chef shares videos of herself making fresh pasta – speaks to us on a deep and profound level. These videos make us feel whole again. These videos are everything.

Each little pasta shell is so perfect and pristine.

A note to all parents: When asking your child to do a household chore, it’s probably best you be as specific as possible.

One mum has learned that the hard way, after her son took a note she had left him far too literally – meaning it probably would’ve been easier for her to just do the job herself.

Conservative writer Milo Yiannopoulos has been permanently banned from Twitter in the wake of racist abuse directed at Ghostbusters actor Leslie Jones.

Earlier this week, Jones accused Yiannopoulos of inciting the abusive messages and said the social media platform wasn’t doing enough to stop it.

‘Twitter I understand you got free speech I get it. But there has to be some guidelines when you let spread like that,’ she tweeted.

Following his suspension for ‘repeated violation’ of Twitter’s rules which prohibit ‘participating in or… Read the full story

Are you worried whether you’re a bit of a shitty mate? Are you just too busy to see your pals? Do you ignore your group chats for hours, nay days?

A Mecca Bingo survey of 2,000 people said that they particularly liked people who didn’t try and hook up with their partners and weren’t too tight – so unless that’s you, you’re probably doing OK.

But here’s a more scientific way of working out whether you’re a properly good friend or not.

If you’re working through this crazy heat, then you’re probably gagging for a nice, cool pint. And one brewer wants to quench your work-place thirst in the most convenient way possible.

Kozel, the Czech beer brand, has launched the ‘Tap Out’ button – a button which, when pressed, will arrange a taxi to pick you up and transport you from office to pub.

Not only that, but it’ll pick your mate up too and when you arrive at said Kozel-serving pub, there’ll be two fresh pints waiting.

Once you have children you find yourself thinking some really, really strange stuff.

Here are a few weird thoughts most parents will have had at one point:

1. Aw I could just bite his tiny little bottom.

2. I wonder if I could shove her back up my vagina so I could just get some sleep!

3. I love you so much I could just EAT you.

4. I wonder what my breast milk tastes like.

5. I wonder if I still have milk in my breasts *squeezes boobs* (six months after you last breastfed)

Give your chub rub some love. (Picture: Deidre Spain/metro.co.uk)

It’s hot, we all woefully unprepared for the arrival of proper summer, and we are currently miserable.

The cause for our distress? Well, other than bedsheets, dehydration, and actually having to go to work when we could be eating ice cream, it’s all down to our damn thighs.

We love our thighs usually. They’re great. They provide adequate cushioning for all the sitting we do.

But in the summer, when they are freed from their daily cages of denim and tights, they are the source of much pain and dismay.

We need help. We need protection from the onslaught of pain, sweat, and rubbed raw skin caused… Read the full story

The speeches are definitely the driest bit of any wedding reception.

Little girl makes her own mini Ghostbusters costume to wear to the cinema

Everyone’s usually drunk, bored or tired (or all of the above) by the time comes to hear from the top table.

Not so at Kit Evens’ wedding.

Instead of the usual overly-emotional address, this groom decided to perform an ode to his wife Sophie in the style of The Notorious B.I.G’s Juicy – and it was nothing short of brilliant.

It’s getting people out and about, socialising, exercising and catching a tan during this hot weather.

And now, it’s making people money.

After discovering her house is a Pokestop, one little girl is reaping the benefits by setting up her very own Pokemon Go-themed lemonade stand.

Selling lemonade and crisps for those who are feeling peckish while out on their hunt, the little girl has even colour-coded each item to each Pokemon team.

(Credit: Getty)

Remember as a teenager when you told your parents you were going to a ‘sleepover’? It was really code for getting drunk in a field at a ‘camp-out’ that ended up being one tent for a group of people who had no idea how to put a tent up.

Oh, the memories.

And, while we thought we were being super sneaky –  and you may still think to this day nobody will ever discover the sneaky things we did at kids – it seems our parents may have known all along.

Apparently, parents know lots of other stuff about their kids, too.

When Max Burnett told his seven-year-old daughter Matilda he was taking her to see the new Ghostbusters film at the weekend, she insisted on being properly dressed for the occasion.

She set about creating her own Ghostbusters uniform, complete with mini proton pack and sparkly flip flops.

She said she wanted to dress like the female stars of the film because ‘they look cool’.

The pocket-sized Ghostbuster caused quite a stir when she arrived at her local cinema in Sherman Oaks.

When it’s this sunny, there’s nothing better than lounging outside surrounded by nature’s goodness. But that’s nothing but a dream for city-dwellers who have to reside in a concrete jungle box. Or is it?

Enter the urban gardeners.

Social media is being taken over by pictures of inner city oases created by young, hip professions with minimal space. Balconies are being transformed into summery sanctuaries. It’s not the way most of us would choose to bond with our friends and reconnect with our exes. But hey. It works.

When photographer Tasha Tylee was asked to create a project for a group exhibition called ‘The Breakup Party’, she instantly came up with the perfect idea: getting her friends and lovers to cry in a bathroom.

‘The idea was a multimedia exhibition located in my friend’s house and our work had to revolve around the themes of love and loss,’ Tasha told metro.co.uk.

Poor mum (Picture: Nathan Wall/Facebook)

Kids, you can’t trust ’em.

Last weekend, mum Sharon Wall, 48, from Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, decided she fancied getting that Pokemon Go everyone’s been talking about.

So, she messaged her 22-year-old son Nathan and asked him how to get hold of the game.

Instead of just telling her how to download the app, Nathan decided to have a little fun and informed his mum she had to go to Tesco for it.

But, it wasn’t as easy as just picking it up off the shelves. Nathan told his mum that she needed to have a card with a code on it. And, to get that, you have to go… Read the full story

Imma just sleep now (Picture: Getty)

You’re just drifting off into blissful slumber when suddenly your body seems to jerk awake. It feels like you’re falling off the bed and it really freaks you out, every single time.

Unless you are actually falling out of bed (in which case, maybe get a bigger bed), it’s likely you’re having something called hypnic jerks (or sleep starts).

They occur when your muscles, usually the leg muscles, involuntary contract, like a twitch, or spasm.

And you’re not special – up to 70 per cent of people experience them occasionally.

Dog

It’s believed these hypnic jerks, which occur just at the moment sleep beckons, might be a bit of… Read the full story
