It can be a real struggle for most new mums to get away from their kids and get down the gym for a good work out. Even if they’re not snowed under with dirty nappies and feeding demands, it’s a proper effort to get into the kit and onto the treadmill.

And then there’s the other issue of having to be parted from your newborn offspring.

But one fitness fanatic who didn’t want to leave her baby during workouts has devised a nifty way to exercise – using her daughter.

You know you want one. Or five. (Picture: Instagram/moggiaevents)

Screw fancy wedding cakes and bunting. There’s only one wedding trend we’ve fallen completely head over heels for, and it involves doughnuts.

A wall of doughnuts, to be more specific.

Doughnut walls – yes, meaning a wall covered in doughnuts free for the taking – have been a thing for a while now. But HelloGiggles reports that they’re now a full-on trend, particularly at weddings, baby showers, and fancy brunches.

We’re entirely obsessed, and are genuinely considering adopting this trend for other occasions. Like morning meetings, pre-drinks, or a Wednesday afternoon.

Because a wall of doughnuts will always be a good idea.

A grateful mother has shown her appreciation to British Airways in a public Facebook post, after they went above and beyond to make sure her son, Oscar, who has Down’s syndrome, had a wonderful flight.

Sarah had fallen pregnant with Oscar, now 4, back in July 2012.

Her firstborn was born with undetected Atrial Septal Defect, Ventricular Septal Defect and Down’s syndrome.

Sarah currently writes the blog Don’t Be Sorry, where she talks about life with Oscar.

Most recently, she wrote about her flight home from a family holiday to Geneva.

It’s been a long time coming, but the Night Tube is finally starting on Friday 19 August (on the Central and Victoria lines, at least).

Late nights in London are never going to be the same again – for better and for worse.

Here are some of the things that we’re pretty certain are going to happen when the Night Tube is ferrying thousands of drunk people around London at 2am.

Vomit. Vomit everywhere

In an article about Seth Rogen’s latest comedy Sausage Party, an MTV writer suggested an equally ‘disgusting’ sequel.

It talked a lot about the future and how, in years to come, Seth will be looking back and discussing ‘gays and penis pumps’ before having another chance to ‘wow the world’ with a sequel despite his age because with ‘voice acting, age is irrelevant’.

The ‘disgusting premise’ for the sequel, as the writer puts it, would be titled Colostomy Party.

Let me tell you a little about this Colostomy Party before we… Read the full story

BLUE MARLIN IBIZA 1

It’s summer, and that means one thing: Ibiza.

For decades, Ibiza has been the go-to destination for cocktail-fuelled beach clubs, hedonistic parties, yacht-hopping and some of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll see.

It’s a beautiful mix of all-nighters and unspoilt beaches, crystal clear waters and cocktails, spirituality and spliffs.

Ibiza has a special place in the heart of all its devotees, whether they are there for yachts by day and sceney restaurants by night; chicken, chips and house music in San Antonio, or hiking in the hills, yoga and green juice (with a vodka chaser).

You may know someone who self-harms. Or maybe you’re worried about someone you think may be self-harming. Perhaps it’s just that you want to know more about it.

Either way, it’s always good to educate yourself and to be prepared for how to deal with the discussion of self-harm, should it ever occur.

There are many misconceptions surrounding self-harm and many misinformed answers to the questions everyone asks: Why do people do it? What is the purpose of it? What are the future repercussions?

Unfortunately, there’s not one answer that can clear up all that uncertainty.

Just as with any mental health issue, everyone’s situation is different. Everyone has a… Read the full story

Look, all the sporty stuff at Olympics is great. We’re blown away by people’s athletic achievement.

But let’s be real. It’s not going to happen for us. No matter how much we watch gymnasts bouncing across mats and runners diving over finish lines, we’ll never really be able to recreate their accomplishments in our daily lives.

Apart from that time we made it to the microwave one second before it beeped. That was gold medal worthy.

But one thing at the Olympics we realistically can strive towards is a lovely relationship, like the one shared by ‘golden couple’ (because they’ve… Read the full story

Sex without consent is rape. The law is very clear. However, what some people seem to be less clear on is what constitutes sexual consent.

This was brought into sharp focus back in June when former Stanford student Brock Turner was found guilty – on three counts – of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman.

Despite the conviction, Turner maintained that it was consensual sex and, rather than take responsibility for his actions, placed the blame on alcohol and the university’s ‘party culture’.

Yesterday, people began to question what constitutes consent again after The Hollywood Reporter published details of a sexual assault case brought against ‘Birth of a Nation’ director Nate Parker… Read the full story

You’ve mastered the right swipe and are now swimming in matches, congrats. But that doesn’t mean you’ve guaranteed a load of dates through Tinder.

You’re much more likely to be in the sad, desolate desert of dry small talk, conversations that trail off, and chit-chat that never seems to lead to an IRL meet up.

Which is all frustrating as f***, so we’ll eagerly take any advice that’ll help us convert our matches into actual dates.

Especially if that advice is from an actual Tinder expert, and doesn’t really require that much hard work on our part.

can't i just do nothing

So listen up. New research from Tinder has found that the key to keeping conversations going for longer and turning matches into dates isn’t in wittier opening lines and brilliant jokes – it’s all down to emoji and gifs.

In our day, you used to stick up a black and white Audrey Hepburn print, a collage of you and your mates from school and a pot plant you bought at the Freshers’ Fair.

Not these guys. These first year students and roomies take their decor very seriously indeed.

Abby Bozeman and Lindy Goodson moved into halls at The University of Mississippi this week and immediately set about remodelling the entire room.

They started with a pretty blank canvas.

Woman accidentally dents someone's car - doesn't go the right way about it

It looks as though the internet is teaching us how to look like good people.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s teaching us how to be good people.

One person has demonstrated this perfectly with an an accident confession note that wasn’t all it first seemed.

After accidentally bumping into someone’s car and denting it, they got out of their own car to write down a note.

On the fringes of Croydon, hidden in a maze of industrial estates where they won’t draw too much unwanted attention, riders gather to perform.

London based photographer Spencer Murphy documents the riders and quad bikers that congregate around London on the weekends.

Murphy tells Metro.co.uk: ‘There is a culture of young, inner city bikers that have grown up over the past few years in the UK. I was inspired by the documentary 12 O’Clock Boys on dirt bikes and quad riders in Baltimore.’

‘These dirt bike gangs are like a community, and many will tell you that doing this keeps them off the streets and out of gangs.

So when we discovered that Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has been quietly offering people the opportunity to pop round to their cosy space, learn to knit, and meet a bunch of little kittens, we kind of lost our sh*t.

This is beyond exciting. This is the thing we never knew we so desperately… Read the full story

Yup, really.

A U.S. study has found that in areas where the sun sets earlier, people tend to go to sleep earlier and sleep for longer – and this affects their salary, as employees living in these areas tend to earn more.

Living away from home for the first time, finding out who you really are, the stresses of exams and coursework – understandably going to university can be a challenge in terms of everyone’s mental health.

One in four students in Britain suffer from mental health problems according to a recent YouGov survey.

He’s been documenting his four-year-old son’s everyday adventures by photographing him as astronaut exploring life.
