A new-mother has admitted that parenthood hasn’t been all it’s cracked up to be in a brilliantly raw post highlighting how women are tricked to believe that motherhood is all about by social media sites like Instagram.

22-year-old Brooke McGlinn, who was inspired to create her blog ‘Me and Tahlz’ by other mummy-bloggers such as Constance Hall, writes mainly about life with her one-year-old daughter, Tahlia.

If we see professional ballet dancers at all, it’s usually in the hushed surrounds of gilded opera houses. You don’t tend to come across them standing en pointe at the bus stop.

Which is why Omar Robles‘ photo series, which captures famous dancers hanging out on the streets of New York, is so striking.

Set in the very real world of downtown New York, the dancers’ feats seem even more supernatural.

The Puerto Rican photographer, who is now based in New York, collaborated with dancers from several companies, including the American Ballet Theatre and The Dance Theatre of Harlem, to capture the images.

Grey hair’s been a thing for a while now. You might remember Lady Gaga going grey some time ago. And then beauty bloggers started going mad for #GrannyHair, dying or getting extensions in various cool shades of silver.

And now there’s an updated version of the trend.

Grey ombré – or GROMBRÉ as we’re calling it – is the latest thing to hit Instagram and it’s beautiful.

The people we see on a daily basis tend to have gently constructed their appearance.

If there’s one exercise I don’t hate doing during my period, it’s swimming.

And, when I decided to visit the Maldives on a ‘well I guess I’m never getting a honeymoon but I’ll be damned if I never go to the Maldives’ trip on my own, I ended up swimming with sharks. On my period.

I should probably explain that, despite being in my 30s, I still have no real idea when my period is going to turn up.

Meet Ollie. He’s a little bundle of joy and fur and he may prevent you from being able to formulate coherent thoughts. He’s just that delightful.

Ollie is a little golden retriever from Knoxville in Tennessee. The 12th puppy of a litter that was expected to be just 11, Ollie happened to be born with just three legs.

But that hasn’t stopped him from running around, being the cutest little fluffball ever, working hard, and achieving big things.

Alright, so we all know how parents are feeling about their kids finally going back to school (spoiler: relieved, joyful, ecstatic).

But when you’re the one actually going back to school, your reaction might not be so simple.

Think back. We’re pretty sure you’ll fall neatly into one of two camps.

Type one: the super-prepared child, thrilled to go back to the world of learning. You probably had a brand new pencil case, begged your parents for a rainbow collection of gel pens, and couldn’t sleep the night before the first day back. You were just that excited.

Type two: you dreaded the return to school. Your parents were heartless monsters for sending you back to that place. You desperately tried to change the calendar so you could skip all the action and stay in bed.

This is Angela Nikolau, a self-taught photographer who likes to take the odd risk to get the perfect selfie.

The Moscow-based adventurer specialises in taking pictures on top of skyscrapers and on the edges of high-rise buildings.

And although all her pictures are ridiculously cool and amazing to look at, they’ll also have you clinging to your chair in terror.

‘No limit, no control’, is her tagline on Instagram – where her 86.7k followers watch her dangling over scaffolding and practising yoga on impossibly high, narrow ledges.
