After lighting up the last two weeks of the Rio Olympic Games, Team GB signed off in style – by lighting up the closing ceremony with their disco feet.

The Prime Minister of Japan popping out of a green pipe dressed as Super Mario aside, Team GB’s dancing feet totally stole the show.

And now we all kind of want a pair.

The custom-made illuminated shoes were created by Simon Jersey, official supplier to Team GB, who also made the athletes’ white jackets (which featured an embroidered ‘thank you’ to Brazil in Portuguese and a ‘hello’ to Tokyo) and red and blue shorts.

Callie shared a beautiful wedding photo and message to all future brides (Picture: kirstymackenziephotography/Instagram)

Callie Thorpe is a London-based fashion blogger and columnist. She started her blog, she explains, because she needed a space that was ‘body shame free’.

She believes that women of all sizes should be able to enjoy fashion and wear the clothes of their dreams. And, there’s no day when that sentiment is more relevant than a woman’s wedding day.

Two weeks ago, Callie married the love of her life Dan Hetherington.

Dan wore a navy tux, the bridesmaids wore sparkling, antique gold, dresses from ASOS and the bride wore a beautiful champagne-coloured fishtail wedding dress.

Why do they hate us? (Picture: The Furniture Market)

Someone’s built an office desk, with in-built dishwasher, fridge and microwave, which ‘aims to solve all the common pitfalls of a working lunch’.

Thereby solving a problem that didn’t need solved. We don’t know about you, but we quite like actually leaving the office during our lunch break.

Fortunately, the desk is so expensive, the boss will never authorise it.

So, no need to kill it with fire just yet. Not until Ikea get hold of the idea at least.

However, if you have money to burn and want to pimp out your home office, we give you the ultimate solution to your working lunch problems:… Read the full story

Stop everything you’re doing. A burger joint in Sydney has just created Pokémon burgers.

Down N’ Out (Australia’s tribute to popular US  burger chain In-N-Out) created the Pokémon-inspired delicacies, modelled on three of the cartoon’s most loved little creatures.

Meet Pikachu, Bulbasaur and Charmander.

The edible dreams were created by Down N’ Out’s creative director (what. a. job) Ben Kagan.

Burger trainers aren’t able to decide which one they want – they receive a randomly selected one after ordering.

Which is fair enough, because it’s not like you can just decide when and where you want to catch a Charmander, y’know?

That’s not… Read the full story

Mothers face a lot of double standards when it comes to the way the world acts when a father is seen doing a simple parenting task.

Mummy-blogger Constance Hall is highlighting this perfectly in a recent post to Facebook, calling out the double standards she faced while taking her kids out on a trip to the park.

The most middle-class of all supermarkets (Picture: Getty)

Waitrose isn’t just a supermarket. It’s a portal to another world.

A world where you can choose inquisitive eggs and buy products that somebody’s clearly made up for a laugh.

A world where shoppers are already thinking about what university their toddler will go to and where your custom is rewarded with a free tea or coffee. You don’t get that in Morrisons.

Here are 13 things you’ll only know if you shop in Waitrose.

1. The impossibility of buying just what you went in for

Drake. Themed. Yoga.

Namasdrake is a monthly hour-long strong vinyasa class set to the sounds of – you guessed it – Drake.

The class increases in intensity along with the music, and they have been known to play a piano rendition of Hotline Bling during savasana.

Wonderful.

There’s nothing more soul-destroying than trying to raise an issue with your TV/internet/phone provider.

I’m a BT TV customer, I should know.

But, you’d think just cancelling your contract would be pretty easy, right?

No, of course not. Let us introduce you to Mr and Mrs Bull. On Saturday, after a two-year struggle with Virgin Media, Mrs Bull decided to, um, take the bull by the horns and cancel their contract.

Here’s husband John to explain their frustrations: ‘For about two years our relationship with Virgin Media had been somewhat one-sided: we’d pay them about £50 a month and in return they would send us lots of glossy… Read the full story

You’re a little bit obsessed with dogs.

And by ‘a little bit’, we mean that your brain stops working every time you see a dog, resulting in your pointing at it and yelling “DOG!” – which is adorable when a toddler does it, but less so when a 30-year-old does it.

But no matter how much you want a dog, the stars just aren’t aligning in any sort of way that would lead to you actually being a dog owner. The universe is cruel.

Here are 12 cruel contradictions you face if you really want a dog, but can’t have one.

Azusa Sakamoto, 34, from LA, has spent over $70,000 (£55,000) on her Barbie obsession over the last 20 years.

‘She shows me we can be anything,’ Azusa says.

As well as owning over 140 dolls, she dresses up like Barbie every day (she describes her look as ‘sophisticated Barbie’) and lives in a pink, Barbie dream house.

Originally from Japan, Azusa fell in love with Mattel’s favourite doll when she visited the US on an exchange trip as a teenager. ‘Since my early teens I’ve always been interested in American culture,’ she says. ‘I remember when I was 15 I went into a shop which imported… Read the full story

In news that will surprise no animal lover, a new study has revealed that the majority of British pet owners would rather chill at home with their fur babies than go out and make new human friends.

The study, carried out by YouGov for pet insurance technology integrator Aquarium Software (no, we don’t understand what that means either…), revealed that 57% of pet owners would prefer to stay on the sofa with their animals.

And we can totally relate.

This is what you do to people who Instagram their food instead of eating it

All we ask is to be able to enjoy our food while it’s hot, instead of waiting until the rest of the table has Instagrammed theirs.

Yes, we’re delighted your burrito picture has already got you 26 likes in two minutes, but, in the meantime, ours has gone cold and now we’re faced with a pool of tepic guac and sour cream.

And, to be honest, we don’t really care that you’ve just had smashed avocado on toast for the 348th morning running either.

If you are fed up of people Instagramming their food instead of eating it, then you’ll be pleased to know there’s an easy, if slightly infantile, solution – as expertly demonstrated by Instagram user Johnny Bennett here:

In the mind of a young child, anything is possible.

While this is pretty special, it also means that children often come out with the most absurd of things.

Or the downright funniest.

One child has unleashed his inner comedian in a recent task he was given while at pre-school.

Young Austin was asked what hands were for – a writing and drawing exercise he was given during his first week of education.

But apparently, education was the last thing on Austin’s mind – and he decided to answer the question with: ‘Touching balls’.

Take what you will from this comment – we’re sure some of you were led to the less innocent of explanations. But we’re confident in thinking Austin was simply talking about a nice game of basketball. His drawing certainly represents that…

Austin’s mother posted the drawing to Imgur, where she described her son as being… Read the full story
