Forget tradition and treat yourself to a boozy burger and extra scotch (Picture: Hazel Paterson)

If you are a fan of burgers, haggis, neeps and tatties, get ready for something a little special.

It’s National Burger Day today and to celebrate, here is our recipe for haggis burgers with neep and tattie fries and a side of whiskey sauce.

Sweet potatoes have long been substituted for potatoes when making fries, so why not the mighty swede? Turns out it works pretty well and is much tastier than the humble potato.

In terms of which haggis to use in this recipe, obviously choose your favourite. If you don’t have one, then we recommend Macsween and their… Read the full story

This is blueberry ice cream, FYI (Picture: Getty)

Ever noticed that in all the ice cream shops you visit, you never see grape ice cream as an option?

It’s probably not something you’ve ever really thought about. But now we mention it, you’ll spot its absence at every ice cream shop, promise.

We’re not talking grape-flavoured ice lollies, to be clear. We’re talking creamy grape ice cream, which you’ll struggle to find in any supermarket or ice cream shop.

It doesn’t exist. It’s not made by any major ice cream brands. Why?

In an investigation for Thrillist, Wil Fulton looked into this ice cream mystery, and found out that there’s actually loads of… Read the full story

I know nothing (Picture: Daniel Martino/Facebook)

These two would make useless spies.

A clip of a dog owner from Buenos Aires, Argentina, confronting his two dogs after finding one of his slippers chewed apart, has been viewed almost four million times over the last week.

Daniel Martino shared a video of the moment he confronted the guilty looking pair on Facebook and it doesn’t take long for the guilty party to crack under the pressure.

Holding out the chewed slipper to the pups Daniel asks: ‘Who was it? Who did this to my insole? Which one of you two was it?’

Both dogs immediately look away from the camera sheepishly.

Imma just sleep here (Picture: Mercury Press)

Well, we guess it’s one way of getting some decent shut-eye on a packed flight. Although, when a two-year-old does it, it’s considered cute. A 30-year-old? Probably not so much.

Two-year-old Luca Turner was pictured taking a nap, face down in the aisle, during a recent Ryanair flight from Alicante to Stanstead.

To be fair, the toddler had probably earnt a lie down after spending two hours ‘assisting’ the cabin crew serving in-flight refreshments.

Exhausted, he decided to just stretch out in the aisle.

‘He walked up and down for a good two hours and was even shouting ‘teas and coffees’ to passengers when the trolley came out and said… Read the full story

It’s summer, it’s hot, people are eating ice creams all around us. But for many people who are avoiding sugar in high doses, shop-bought lollies of 99s from the ice cream van are loaded with the stuff and are off the menu.

And besides, has anyone seen how expensive Magnums are these days?

So, in the spirit of a) lowering our sugar consumption, b) saving money and c) nourishing our bodies, we’re going to be making our own.

90s kids 1
This phrase was shouted A LOT

Everything was better in the 90s – and that includes summer holidays for kids.

Kids nowadays are definitely losing when it comes to how they spend their summers, because the majority of the time is spent glued to their phones, or binge watching shows on Netflix.

90s kids instead lived through summers of adventure involving trips to Butlins, a wardrobe full of tie dye items, falling out with your friends over Pokemon cards and of course a heavy dose of The Crystal Maze.

1. Tie dye everything

There were some things that held the 90s back; no widespread internet, Mr Blobby and memes being non-existent.

However one thing that was a… Read the full story

Everyone has at least one unbearably awkward photo from their childhood. But not everyone deals with evidence of their awkwardness in as brilliant a way as this.

Tyra Hunt is a 17-year-old student in her final year of school. She had to take a photo for her ID card, and decided to get creative.

Flashback to when Tyra was in kindergarten, and had to take a school picture. At the time, little Tyra didn’t really feel like getting her picture taken.

‘My principal called my mother to come to the school to help because I wouldn’t take it,’ Tyra told metro.co.uk.

But we have some bad news for you. If you were hoping to post a photo of your perfectly rolled sushi on Instagram and rake in the likes, you will fail. A pile of hand-made sushi just doesn’t cut it anymore. Sorry.

Zoe just can’t wait to start school (Picture: xotrilla/Twitter)

I don’t like change. I also have a fear of the unknown. I need to be more like Zoe.

In fact, we could all probably learn a lesson about embracing new experiences from two-year-old Zoe.

The toddler is already attending preschool and she just can’t wait to start going to big school.

Earlier this week, she went with her mum to drop her older brother off at his first day of school and, ‘she was more excited than he was,’ mum Sharvonne Broussard told Buzzfeed.

As she was dressed in her preschool uniform, Mum suggested Zoe posed for a ‘first day of school’ picture. The adorable… Read the full story

Hmm. (Picture: Instagram/voguebrasil)

Oh, Vogue Brazil. This is a mess.

Vogue Brazil is currently getting slammed on the internet for creating a Paralympics themed photoshoot… which used able-bodied actors.

The campaign was apparently designed to promote the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. But rather than, well, featuring actual Paralympic athletes, or even a few of the many models with disabilities working in the fashion industry, Vogue Brasil decided to use two actors, with disabilities photoshopped on.

Right. Makes sense.*

*IT DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE.

Vogue Brazil shared an image from the photoshoot on Instagram, with a caption declaring that ‘we are all Paralympians’.

FREEDOM! (Picture: Getty)
FREEDOM! (Picture: Getty)

It’s been years since you were legally able to drive but you’re still managing to avoid it.

The thought of paying out for MOTs, road tax and car insurance is just too much. When people talk Lamborghini and Ferrari you’d rather be chatting Lacroix and Fendi.

Despite constantly begging for rides and putting up with painfully slow and sweaty public transport, not being able to drive has its benefits.

You’ll never be the sober, sensible one driving your drunk friends home and at least walking is good for the environment, right?
