No, the lido won’t do.

The sun may be shining, but if you’re anything like us you’re currently stuck at your desk in an air conditioned office with no natural light. Great stuff.

But just imagine for one second how f*cking great it would be if, instead, you were here.

This dreamy natural pool is the To Sua ocean trench (which means ‘big hole’) on the volcanic Somoan island of Upolu. And we would sell our siblings (sorry guys!) to be there right now.

But we can’t, so instead let’s look at some pictures of some lucky sods who are…

BFFs (Picture: Getty)

Friends are the family you choose, and also the people you share most of life’s hardest and best times with.

In fact, there is nothing quite as special as true friendship, so can you relate to these lessons it teaches you?

1. Friends are always more important than any guy/girl.

1

2. You can find friendship in the most unlikely of places, and when you meet a new friend you generally know straight away that you’re going to click.

2

3. Quality is much more important than quantity.

4. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve gone without seeing one of your friends. When you meet up, it’s like nothing has changed.

Two-year-old says ‘f*ck it’ to her dad after playing with her ‘sweary’ Baby Born

A dad was shocked to be told ‘f*ck it’ by his two-year-old after she learnt the expletive from her ‘sweary’ new doll.

Mum Sarah Williams and dad Anthony Burridge treated little Emily to a new interactive Baby Born doll from Toys R Us for her second birthday last month.

But, instead of crying when she’s squeezed, the doll sounds like it’s singing a string of swear words, along the lines of: ‘F*ck, f*ck, f*ck it. La la la’.

Now the parents from Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, are desperately trying to get Emily to forget the phrase, after she responded ‘f*ck it’ to dad’s offer of a drink.

We’re going to need a bigger float: This is the ONLY way to watch Jaws

Was that your foot? (Picture: Heather Leah Kennedy/Alamo Drafthouse)

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Jaws, Texans have been queuing up to watch the film on a big screen, while floating on a boat lake.

40 years after Roy Schneider, Richard Dreyfuss, and Robert Shaw first battled with the mechanical shark on a mission, people clearly think it’s safe to get back in the water.

While we’re pretty sure there are no sharks in the boat lake (checks for fins), it would certainly add a certain frisson to hear those dreaded da-dum, da-dums while perched atop a flimsy rubber ring, at night, your feet dangling in the murky waters.

I know, I know. You’re still reeling from the #HOTTESTDAYOFTHEYEAR and all you want to do this weekend is lie face-down in one of the big freezers in Sainsbury’s. Naked.

BUT, it’s nearly the weekend, and for all we know this could be the last bit of proper warmth we get for years. So take advantage and make some epic plans while you still can.

1. Three words: WATER JET PACK. It’s called flyboarding and you can do it in the Thames from just £95pp with Flyboarding Experiences.

2. There’s more watery fun to be had at WakeUp Docklands. Ride their wakeboarding cables from just £28pp including kit hire.

3. Or, if you fancy something a little gentler, they do stand-up paddleboarding classes too from £30pp.

4. The Orbit… Read the full story

As if school dinners weren’t bad enough the first time round, they’re back and they’ve had the pop-up treatment.

So, they’re ten times more expensive and you’ll have to trek to East London.

Opening this July in Hackney (where else?) is the After School Club, where you’ll be able to relive the gastronomic treats of your childhood, and pay £55 for the pleasure.

The five-course school dinners themed menu, created by chef Ellen Parr will include ‘posh’ takes on favourites like alphabetti spaghetti and fish fingers.

Yeah, hi mum (Picture: Getty)

Your mum is one of the best people in your life.

Friends and lovers will flit in and out of your life at your leisure but your mum will be there, no matter where you go. In fact, it was that very promise she made (while bravely, and professionally, hiding her tears), which gave you the confidence to move away from home and chase your dream and broaden your horizons.

But while she is always at the end of a telephone or, if you’ve taught her right, she’s even using Facebook now (boy, does she love those emojis?), you can’t help but miss her when you’re far away.

Returning home for visits just further highlights the familiar things you still long for that… Read the full story

This one goes out to all the people who think smoking weed makes you unproductive…

For most people, rolling weed in paper and creating a spliff (or blunt as our American cousin’s say) is just a means to an end. But not for this guy.

Because he’s turned rolling blunts into an art form.

Using a seemingly never-ending stash of marijuana and blunt papers, he creates mind-blowing smokeable sculptures, which not only look great, but are guaranteed to get you high as f*ck.

Check these out…

Oh you know, just a smokeable turtle reef-er

Tomorrow is 4th July folks!

And what better way to celebrate a holiday we know very little about than getting down and dirty with some USA style food?

Even if you’re not American, you should probably still celebrate Independence Day, otherwise you’re gonna be missing out.

*Jumps on bandwagon*

Ribs, fried chicken, hot dogs, Mississippi mud pie – London is full of great restaurants paying homage to the American dream.

Here are the best places to get stuck in this weekend.

1. Dirty Bones‘ 4th July burger

Dirty Bones have outdone themselves with an East Coast-inspired burger laid on especially for Independence Day. It’s a glorious 6oz patty with Monterey Jack and craft beer cheese, Coca Cola… Read the full story

13 things only American expats know about Independence Day

Happy Fourth of July! (Picture: Getty)

Ah, the Fourth of July. To an American, Independence Day is synonymous with BBQs, beer, picnics, parades, and fireworks shows.

That is, unless you happen to be an American abroad.

For those of us Americans who have made the leap into expat status, here are a few of the joys and pains only you know about Independence Day.

1. If you want a decent hot dog you’ll have to make it yourself

This is not a time for fancy brioche rolls or any of that highfalutin sausage nonsense. Independence Day calls for shrink-wrapped ballpark franks and cheap white bread buns. Add a little ketchup and yellow mustard, and you’ve got yourself a delicious cylinder of processed food perfection.

2. American beer… Read the full story

Whether you watched the recent Tim Burton adaptation, remember the old-school Disney cartoon or read the original book, chances are that you love Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland in at least one of its many forms.

With its memorable characters, its nonsensical plot and its quotable lines, it’s a work of literature that people around the world hold close to their hearts.

So on its 150th birthday, we thought you deserved to know some of the most obscure facts about the famous tale…

1. Alice is named after a real-life Alice – the 10-year-old daughter of the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University Alice Liddell, who heard, along with her two sisters, the very… Read the full story

21 things people who live by the seaside know about summer

Get off my land! (Picture: PA)

It’s the time of the year when holiday makers start planning trips to the seaside. The British coast is still popular for day trippers and families fancying a holiday where everyone speaks English.

But what about those of us who already live by the coast? Those of us who make our home or work in the popular seaside spots that are descended upon every year by those on a break and looking for fun and relaxation.

Well life has to go on for us, but we have thoughts about our temporary visitors and what happens in the area we call home as soon as the sun starts to shine:

1. You mentally start marking off no-go areas from about June.

13 stages of painting your nails

Which colour = hardest decision ever (Source: WireImage)

Painting your nails should be a fun activity and gives us a chance to showcase our style with the variety of colours and decoration opportunities available.

But, despite a lot of us doing it for years, there are always a few calamities that befall us every single time.

1. Variety = spice of life

Before starting you obvs open up your nail varnish collection and stare at the treasure chest in front of you.

This treasure chest usually consists of one red, some purples and around 25 pink varieties. Oh and one black from your emo phase.

2. When did it get so complicated?

You then realise how advanced nail painting has become and get a little nervous looking at numerous glitter pots, stickers… Read the full story

Arrogant cat blocks camera filming owner doing yoga
It’s all about ME (Picture: Youtube/ Snoky Hootan)

Dear cats, why so arrogant?

It’s a Saturday afternoon, you’re just hanging out round the house, and then you think – why don’t I film myself doing a fancy yoga headstand, you know, just for humble brags.

And you know, each to their own, if that’s how you want to spend your spare time, who are we to judge?

But what you do need to factor into this equation is whether you have a cat. Because if you do, your cat probably won’t be very happy about this decision, because you know, everything always has to be about THEM.

Unfortunately it’s too late for this… Read the full story

You won’t believe how many calories you burn at festivals

Look how healthy they all are! (Picture: Wire/Press Association)

Despite indulging in three days of boozing, burgers, and letting our hair down, it turns out festivals are actually quite good for you.

If we’re talking exercise, that is.

Tech company Withings have calculated how many calories we burn by dancing, wandering around fields and dashing from stage to stage.

We actually burn off over a staggering 9,000 calories and walk over 15 miles across a three-day music event. Apparently the average festival goer will spend up to eight hours dancing per day, burning an average of 400-700 calories during each act. Phew.

That’s almost enough to rid us of… Read the full story

It’s time to embrace the truth (Picture: Flickr/ Nat Urazmetova)

It’s time to stop fronting.

There’s nothing wrong with being single. Everyone’s single at some point (apart from those people who just swing from one relationship to another like a desperate relationship monkey).

But let’s stop lying to ourselves about why we’re painfully alone. Here are some cold, hard, home truths.

You’re single…

1. Because you think you’re better than everyone else.

2. Because you haven’t changed your bed sheets for two months.

3. Because you’re always watching Friends re-runs on Comedy Central.

4. Because spending any longer than nine minutes in your company is completely unbearable.

5. Because you have a poster of Britney Spears on your wall.

6. Because you’ve slept with all of your friends.

7. Because you always talk… Read the full story

While you were sleeping…

After a week of being treated to temperatures upwards of 25 degrees, the UK was basically melting from the inside out. Give us a breeze, we said. Heck, even some rain would go down a treat!

The weather gods were obviously listening, because last night the UK was engulfed in a mighty storm. There’s nothing like a few bolts of lightening to get the amateur photographers of Twitter excited – and they didn’t disappoint.

Check out these stunning shots of the storm, from around the UK.
