The next big beauty look doesn’t require dropping a load of cash on the new Urban Decay palette or finally figuring out the correct way to contour.

All you’ll need to do is make a quick trip to your garden (or the nearest wooded area, if you’re in a flat).

At the Preen by Thornton Bregazzi show at London Fashion Week, models walked the runway covered in delicate pressed… Read the full story

People love this cafe’s sandwich boards (Picture: Inversnecky Cafe/Facebook)

If you love good fry ups and terrible puns, then you need to get yourself to sunny Aberdeen, where staff at the beachfront Inversnecky Café are serving up both.

Alternatively, you can check out their Facebook page, where they share their daily sandwich board jokes, which are so bad they’re good.

The sandwich board puns are the handiwork of Martin, who runs the family cafe, although he gets occasional help/trolling from fellow staff members Scott and Wendy.

‘Originally the idea was to use the board to publish the daily specials and I just put out a board as we were not quite organised to do any yet.… Read the full story

Don’t know about you but finding the time to do a face mask in the evening makes us feel like we’ve really got our sh*t together.

However, that feeling of accomplishment normally fades when we accidentally leave it on for an hour, it turns into cement and we end up spending a good 15 minutes at the sink trying to chisel it off.

Don’t reckon we’d have that problem with this latest face mask though.

Why have boring peonies when you can have puppies?

On September 10, Sarah married the love of her life Matt Crain in the grounds of the beautiful Moonstone Manor, in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. It was a beautiful, traditional white wedding. With six notable and very loveable exceptions. Instead of bouquets, the bridal party all carried puppies.

Rescue dogs are a big part of the couple’s life – Sarah is a board member at Pitties Love Peace, a local non-profit organisation that aims to provides a safe haven for pit bull… Read the full story

Mark this in your cat-lendars, asap. It’s too important to be missed.

Finally, London is getting the themed festival everyone has been dreaming about since the dawn of the internet: a festival themed entirely around cats.

Cat videos, memes, and other internet-related cat things, to be exact.

Catnip Festival is a one-night extravaganza celebrating cats as our all-powerful internet overlords.

On Friday November 25, from 9pm ’til late, The Coronet in Elephant and Castle will become a celebration of all things cat.

If you’ve got small kids, you probably look forward to their afternoon kip when you can get on with your own life for an hour or two.

But one mum is using her precious down time to take her children on a series of wild adventures.

Ayumi has two-year-old twins and when they’re asleep, she arranges various sets and scenarios around them.

But her kids aren’t ordinary, straight-laced sleepers.

Often they fall asleep in bizarre positions – sometimes holding hands, sometimes overlapping and other times facing each other on opposite sides of the bed.

And it’s this that has inspired Ayumi – whose Instagram account has 10,000 followers – to… Read the full story

Beguiling Beijing – 9 essential things to see and do in the capital of China

I am standing in Tiananmen Square, the air humid, no sliver of sky through Beijjng’s trademark blanket of grey smog, watching three little Chinese girls pose for a photo making peace signs, and a boy chase a bird, his raincoat his net.

A girl in pink sandals uses a gold iPhone to film three sparrows chirping and jumping.

This is Beijing in 2016 – it frustrates and beguiles in equal measures.

A lot of the frustration I’ve brought upon myself by not learning the language.

Things I take for granted – Google (and its maps), Facebook (and its connection to friends and family), Twitter (and its breaking news) are all blocked by the government.

The professional makeover wasn’t quite what she expected (Picture: Mercury Press)

We really feel for her.

Mum-of-two Steph O’Shea, 25, from Burntwood, Staffs, recently won a voucher that entitled her to a free professional No 7 makeover at Boots. She decided to book herself in on Saturday afternoon, ahead of her friend’s wedding reception, so her makeup would be on point.

After having her makeup done, she’d left enough time to drive straight to the reception venue and quickly get changed. As her makeup would already be done, she only took some foundation and mascara with her in case she needed to freshen up during the evening.

However, the less-than-professional makeover left her angry and embarrassed.

Have you ever seen a dead animal at the side of the road and thought, ‘My goodness, that animal would make a great bag’?

No? Us neither. But one woman in New Zealand did when she came across a squashed feral cat whilst driving.

The unlucky feline had been run over by a car, so the woman, who’s a taxidermist, popped it in her car and took it home to turn it into a bag.

Which you can now buy.

Ah, Halloween. A time when people engage in casual cultural appropriation and racism, but think it’s okay because, hey, costumes.

Most of the time, it’s well-meaning and people aren’t trying to cause offence. They just want to dress up and have fun. They aren’t aware that their costumes are disrespectful.

But that doesn’t make it okay. People need to be called out and told (gently) that wearing someone else’s culture as a costume isn’t acceptable.

The latest costume to cause controversy? Disney’s new kids’ costume from their upcoming film, Moana.

A proud grandpa just couldn’t resist buying his five-month-old granddaughter the biggest teddy bear in the shop.

Which is why he now has an 8ft tall bear in his front room.

If you haven’t seen one of CostCo’s giant bears before, well, they’re so huge, they use forklifts to manoeuvre them around stores. You’ll struggle to fit one in a Mini and they’ll take up an entire box room.

And people just can’t get enough of their giant paws and soft teddy loving.

Forget foraging for sloe berries this autumn because this year is all about damson gin.

Gin sales hit a whopping £1 million a day… with Brits drinking 19 million litres in just one year

The wild alternative to the plum gives a rich flavour to the gin with an almost syrupy texture.

Raw damsons – a subspecies of Prunus domestica – are sour to the taste, but mixed with sugar and gin, it creates the perfect evening tipple and a great alternative to sloe gin.

Damsons, with their deep purple skins, can be found all over Britain from the end of August,… Read the full story

These are Tinder’s most right-swiped unis in the UK

She probably goes to UCL (Image: Getty)

There was no such thing as Tinder when I was at uni. We had to do things the old-fashioned way i.e. get drunk on pints of Skittles and make eyes with fellow barely conscious people across a sticky dancefloor.

These days, the kids have it much easier and can just shop for conquests from the comfort of their ratty old lecture chair, while they pretend to listen and write notes on their phone.

While this may seem like the ideal way to get your awkward uni sex done, it turns out that some universities attract better-looking students than others, according to the stats that Tinder gave Vice.

But the area has plenty going on whatever the weather and, in fact, if you head down out of sunburn season you’ll be pleasantly surprised – and won’t have to battle through the beach crowds.

With its varied nightlife (all within staggering distance), small but perfectly formed shopping centre, it’s greenery and wildlife, not to mention the coastline, it’s a truly beautiful area.

Office life can be interminably dull.

And if you spend the majority of it on the Internet, you often find yourself swinging between boredom and complete horror at what we’ve become.

3

You can even dress your new feline friend up with hats and other accessories.

You’re a guy with a normal set of balls. Sure, maybe they can get a little sweaty sometimes but whose don’t?

And yes, they’re getting a bit more wrinkly as time goes on but that’s just something you’ve got to deal with.

Or so you might think.

If you’re sick of gathering saggy skin and sweat down below then fret no longer – scrotox is now a thing.

Yes, literally botox for your scrotum.

It’s the process of inflating slightly wrinkly, deflated balls.

Perhaps it’s not surprising, seeing that the number of men having cosmetic surgery has doubled over the past decade.
