Don’t hate her ‘cos you ain’t her – replicate her smugness with a yoga alarm clock (Image: Getty)

Waking up in the morning can be a real struggle, especially when you keep meaning to go to bed at 11 but always seem to find yourself deep in a Netflix hole at midnight.

Add darker mornings to your lack of sleep and you’ve got yourself a recipe for repeatedly hitting snooze when your annoying alarm tone goes off come 6am.

But what if there was a better way? What if there was a way you could be woken peacefully and make the most of your snooze time? What if there was a…yoga alarm clock?

In the midst of all our daily disappointments, we thought there was one thing we could always trust and rely on: pizza.

But we were wrong. Everything is wrong, everything is a lie, and we can trust nothing.

New tests on independent takeaway restaurants have found that a significant portion of takeaway pizzas are topped with fake ingredients.

Yup. Your pizza is lying about who it truly is. Trust no pizza.

The tests analysed 40 pizzas from takeaways across Warwickshire and found that one in four were topped with fake cheese.

Soft, exotic, sweet but not sickly, cardamom, cinnamon and saffron buns are a Christmas tradition in Sweden, eaten with a cup of coffee for ‘fika’ (coffee time).

You might think it odd that the Swedish use eastern spices in their baking… but it’s a legacy of their seafaring adventures from the Vikings onwards.

This recipe is a version of a recipe from a Gothenburg all female bakery, Alvar and Ivar.

Swedish cinnamon bun recipe

Makes approximately 10 to 12 buns

For the dough:

  • The seeds of 35 cardamom pods, crushed into powder
  • 250ml of lukewarm whole milk
  • 50g butter (unsalted)
  • 7g fast acting yeast
  • 75g caster sugar
  • 400g of plain white flour
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla paste
  • 1/2 tsp of… Read the full story

This morning Facebook decided to greet its users with news that this year’s Nobel Prize winners would be soon be announced.

Instead, they accidentally made everyone momentarily think they’d won a Nobel Prize. Or six Nobel Prizes.

You see, the phrasing of Facebook’s Nobel Prize news was a little, well, off.

When people opened Facebook, they were greeted with ‘Congratulations are in order’ and pictures of six Nobel Prize medals.

The announcement then went on to talk about Nobel Prize winners, and invited everyone to ‘follow along with the announcements’.

If you spend your morning commute wishing you were anywhere else but squeezed into a stranger’s armpit, then this guy’s pictures will probably make you feel a little sick.

They might also inspire you.

For the last two years, Travis Burke, an outdoor and adventure photographer from California, has been on an epic road trip across America and Canada in his nan’s van.

Well, it started life as his nan’s 1994 Dodge Ram van, but then Travis spent £5,000 and three months transforming it into a ‘dream adventure mobile’ which has since become both his… Read the full story

It’s not often we’ll bring you news of a fire brigade on the other side of the world, but these guys in Australia deserve a shoutout. And not for what you think.

The crew at Newtown Fire Station in Sydney’s Inner West suburb of Newtown like to brighten the local residents’ days by leaving little messages on the sign outside their cute little station. (Oh, and also by saving their lives, homes and pets, but we’re concentrating on their witty words for now, mmm-kay?)

The guys are king of puns and dad jokes and the local community loves them for it, waiting with… Read the full story

Iconic. (Picture: Facebook/Anadolu Kedisi)

We can’t think of many beings more deserving of a bronze statue in their honour than Tombili the cat.

Tombili was an icon. He was a chubby cat who loved to lounge on the pavement and take in the world around him.

He became internet famous after photos of his super chilled position were shared on 9GAG, Reddit, and everywhere else online.

But Tombili didn’t let it get to his head. He continued to stay grounded. He continued to relax with one leg up on the curb, watching people go by.

Seeing the Northern Lights is something that’s probably on most people’s travel bucket lists. Mother Nature’s light show – also known as Aurora Borealis –  happens when electrons from the solar wind collide above earth, creating dancing, coloured rays of light.

You’ve got a chance of seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Canada, Alaska and Greenland. Basically, you need to get closer to the North Pole and head somewhere with minimal light pollution. So like, not London.

Your best bet is travelling from September – March, where… Read the full story

She quickly racked up followers, and by the end of September her photos and videos had more than 50,000 likes.

She isn’t a celebrity, and her Instagram wasn’t anything particularly special – just photos of Louise out and about in Paris.

But here’s the thing. Louise Delage isn’t a real person.

Louise Delage is the creation of Paris ad agency BETC. She’s played by a model, acting out typical Instagrammed scenarios like hanging out with friends, shopping, and going to the beach.

When you think of Burgundy, wine is probably the first thing that springs to mind. The region produces some of the most expensive (and delicious) wines in the world and its ‘climats’ (ancient wine growing plots) have even been awarded UNESCO World Heritage status.

However, this beautiful region also has plenty to offer as a holiday destination, with some unusual accommodation, impressive sights, celebrated restaurants and picturesque villages….and did I mention the wine?

Here are 12 reasons to visit Burgundy:

Why are Brits so ugly? Picture: METRO.co.uk

If you want to know what Europe really thinks of us, Google searches are probably not a bad place to start.

Although you might not want to go there. Because it’s not always that flattering.

Search Laboratory have released data from Google searches over the last year, which reveals – whether we like or not – the most common questions Europeans have about Brits.

‘The biggest search story of the year in the UK has undoubtedly been Brexit,’ Search Lab preface their report. ‘Users from all over the continent have been searching queries in the hundreds of thousands every month since February, regarding Britain’s now impending exit from the European Union.’

But, we’re not here to talk about Brexit (for once, we know). We’re here to talk about what the rest of Europe really thinks of us.

It can be difficult when packing for a holiday to remember what you can and cannot take onto the plane.

Sometimes we struggle to recall whether we can bring our favourite knife into the cabin. Some people say ‘No, definitely not’ and others say, ‘Only if it’s hidden inside an enchilada’. We just don’t know who to believe.

Luckily, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration AKA the airport security bods in America) have an Instagram account where they show what’s been confiscated, and allow users to contact them with specific queries. Like, say, alligator heads.

From trawling this account, we have deduced that the following items are NOT allowed in… Read the full story

Feel sorry for Kim regardless of her status as a mother. (Picture: Getty)

When news broke that Kim Kardashian had been robbed at gunpoint in an apartment in Paris, people’s responses divided into a few camps.

Many, many people said awful things about Kim ‘deserving’ her attack. Others suggested that she’d made the whole thing up. Some questioned why people cared about what happened to Kim Kardashian at all.

In the midst of all the awfulness, people began to step up to tell the trolls to have more respect. They reminded them that it doesn’t matter what you think of Kim Kardashian’s life choices – what happened to her was terrifying, and no one should wish… Read the full story

This is Bella. (Picture: Facebook/Luke Neville)

When you lose a dog, all you want is for a dog to come back home, happy and unharmed.

Your dog, to be specific. Not a new, random dog from a shelter. Not a puppy sized replacement.

And definitely not someone else’s dog. That would be a bit awkward.

Last weekend, Luke Neville lost his pug, Bella. He and his brother searched the neighbourhood, and Luke shared a photo of Bella on his Facebook.

Then in the middle of the searching, Luke returned home to find a pug at his house.

Many might think that celebrating World Teachers’ Day as well as National Teachers’ Day (two separate occasions, apparently) is a little overkill but let’s not forget quite how much is involved in educating children.

There is far more to the job than delivering a lesson and enjoying copious holidays. In honour of the hard working educators out there, let’s remember the many jobs they do as well as teaching that are often overlooked.

From a bouncer to a counsellor and a diplomat to a firefighter, who thought that it was such a varied career path?

Just when you thought 2016 couldn’t get any worse, we’re now being forced to say a final farewell to Dippy the Diplodocus, who’s stood in the main hall of the Natural History Museum to greet visitors since 1979.

The plaster dinosaur was presented to the museum (arriving in London in 36 packing cases) in 1905.

Apparently, he’s no longer relevant to what’s happening in the natural world today. Well, no, he’s a dinosaur.

He’s being replaced by a 83ft-long real skeleton of a blue whale. We still haven’t really come to terms with it, to be honest.

Anyway, whether we like it or… Read the full story
