Does anybody enjoy packing? The nagging feeling that you have forgotten something, the endless folding – it is enough to make you want to cancel the entire trip.

As I embark on a six-month trip around the world (you can follow our trip here), I have rounded up what I believe to be packing essentials to make your life easier.

Clothing

Ultimately, the hardest part of packing your backpack is selecting which items of clothing to take. It is a highly stressful experience, but it is worth just accepting the inevitable during the process: you will… Read the full story

Restaurant wants a 'culturally refined gin butler'

Do you love gin? Have you been into gin for at least three years? Do you want to be paid to sup and talk about gin all day?

The guy behind the UK's first crisp sandwich can now be booked for weddings

If so, it’s time to polish up that CV and prepare to relocate to Suffolk.

The Redherring in Lowestoft is looking for a ‘gin butler’ to join their payroll.

The wine bar hosts a number of gin-based events, including a fortnightly Gin Club, as well as psychic suppers. It also claims to stock 32 different types of gin.

We’re back to waking up in the dark and coming home from work in the dark, which means it takes an almighty effort to do anything apart from sit on the sofa.

1. We can say goodbye to salad for dinner and enjoy warm, comforting dishes again.

And where better to escape the vagaries of everyday life and human interaction than an island with more tiny ponies than people?

The island of Foula – a Shetland island off the coast of Scotland – is perhaps unsurprisingly where Shetland ponies originated from and horses have apparently lived there since the Bronze Age (3200-600 BC).

One of the perks of parenting is having an excuse to watch all of the latest Pixar films without being told to stop acting like a child.

It’s a win/win situation, really.

Except when of course, you have to watch the movie with your young child – who is more interested in what’s going on absolutely anywhere other than the cinema screen.

We’re all used to smug married couples invading our social media channels with photos of their engagements, weddings and baby announcements.

People are taking fashion inspiration from the Ikea Big Blue Bag

But one couple can keep posting relationship updates forever, as far as we’re concerned.

Chanel the golden retriever is expected to give birth to puppies any day.

And to document her pregnancy journey, owner Kennedy Sorensen organised a maternity shoot for her and her puppy-daddy LeeRoy.

Everyone wants their wedding to represent who they are.

Some plan a lavish, expensive carnival of fun. Others go for something smaller and more personal.

And now crisp sandwich fans can plan their dream wedding too.

Because the UK’s first (and possibly only) crisp sandwich shop is now going mobile – and is catering for weddings.

Mark Pearson, who founded Mr Crisp in Keighley, West Yorkshire, plans on becoming England’s first crisp sandwich cart.

People are taking fashion inspiration from the Ikea Big Blue Bag

Aiming it at all women alongside Sarah, Brad wants women to know that he understands they’re not going to feel their best after pregnancy, and that it’s okay for them to be honest about it, and take their time to get back on their feet.

In his post, which has so far been liked by over 3,000 people, Brad said the inspiration for this particular… Read the full story

In case you missed it, over the weekend one man achieved true greatness.

One courageous man, known as Seth Schneider, accomplished a feat many have tried, but few have managed.

Yes. Seth Schneider, a legend who will go down in history, managed to take a picture while he high-fived himself. We will see him in our history books. Someone will probably build a statue of this moment.

Of course, Seth had to share his momentous accomplishment, so tweeted out a photo on Friday. It’s since been retweeted more than 170,000 times.

And now, the hero of 2016 has started a movement.

Cake for breakfast. YES. (Picture: Getty)

Throw your avocado toast in the bin. There’s a new trendy breakfast in town – and this time, it’s a genuinely delicious treat, rather than just some green mush smeared on bread.

Liz Moskow, culinary director at Sterling-Rice Group and general food trend expert, told Food Business News that the next big trend will be eating chocolate cake for breakfast.

Liz explains that recent studies on the cognitive benefits of dark chocolate (it supposedly improves abstract reasoning, focus, and memory) will likely mean that more and more people will start considering chocolate a smart choice for a morning meal.

Don’t you just love when couples rope in animals for their wedding photoshoots?

A dog presenting the rings. A mini piglet in a basket. Angry magpies viciously attacking the happy couple.

Wait. What?

Newly married Phil and Sara Maria were happily posing for their photographer, Karen Parr, in a pretty wooded location near Uralla in New South Wales, when suddenly, some aggressive magpies swooped in.

It’s magpie mating season in Australia, you see, so the birds are a little, erm, territorial.

Bold. (Picture: KENZO x H&M)

When H&M first announced that they were doing a collaboration with KENZO, we thought we knew what to expect: a few bold patterns, bright colours, and animal print.

But we weren’t entirely prepared for the actual collection.

We’re not just talking a few accent prints. KENZO x H&M is pretty much all bold, bright prints.

The lookbook, which dropped this week, styles all the pieces together in a glorious rainbow of leopard print, bright orange, and pretty much everything else you’d describe as ‘bold’ or ‘ooh, that might be a bit much’.
