If you’re a big coffee drinker, you probably think you know all there is to know about the stuff.

You know your Arabica from your Robusta. You know your macchiato from your latte.

Should eating live octopus be made illegal?

But do you know enough about coffee to take an entire exam on it?

Well, one company is only selling bottles of their exclusive £115 coffee liqueur to people who have passed a coffee test.

Mr Black, an Australian cold-press coffee liqueur, is demanding buyers prove their extensive coffee knowledge before having the privilege of buying their special edition ‘Panama Geisha’.

Time to goth up Christmas (Photo: Getty)

It’s hard enough choosing presents for people who have mainstream tastes – there are only so many times you can give slippers to the same person and even chocolate gets tedious after the fifth box – but what if the intended recipient of your festive goody-gathering has a rather gloomier outlook on life than most?

If your loved one is of the darkling variety you’ll already know only too well how difficult it can be to find gifts that celebrate the festivities while also acknowledging that time is an illusion and we’re all eventually going to die alone anyway.

There’s actually plenty of options for the goth gift – the trick is… Read the full story

Blackhair Magazine has apologised for using a non-black model as this month’s cover girl, claiming that they had no idea about her ethnicity at the time.

Half-white, half-Malaysian model Emily Bador is featured on the black beauty magazine’s December/January edition, with big curly hair and racially ambiguous makeup.

Blackhair is a bi-monthly magazine dedicated to black beauty, fashion, celebrities and hair so people weren’t happy about having a completely non-black cover girl fronting it.

Parenting is filled with sleepless nights, the worry and the pressure to be a good mum or dad.

But a Reddit thread has made it very, very clear that lack of sleep and a bit of worrying isn’t even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to parenting nightmares.

Should eating live octopus be made illegal?

The reality is much, much darker than the childless among us could ever have imagined.

Thanksgiving is resolutely not a British tradition (or ‘holiday’, as Yanks would call it).

These photos of redheads with a red fox are proof that gingers are magical

It’s not that we’re against the idea of eating until we can’t move and shopping for reduced luxury items, it’s that it disturbs our social calibration of national holidays.

So while the premise of Thanksgiving sounds good, we need to adapt it to a British mentality.

Fortunately, this isn’t hard. Thanksgiving is a secular holiday that’s about food, family and feeling grateful – something everyone can get on board with.

And here’s everything you… Read the full story

Five ways to stop anxiety winning Dave Anderson
Leave. Me. Alone (Illustration: Dave Anderson)

NB: I have spoken to many women in pursuit of this article, of all ages, nationalities and race, and all wanted to remain anonymous as they fear how people would react to them for speaking up. That in itself speaks volumes.

In December 2015, my dream came true: I moved to Brooklyn, New York. I came here for work, to meet new people and, in part, to start a new life.

What I didn’t come for – and didn’t expect – was to be sexualised and harassed on a daily basis.

I’m talking about catcalling. In New York, it has a ‘style’… Read the full story

You had planned to spend the days between Christmas and New Year on your sofa, in your oldest jogging bottoms, eating carbs and watching trash TV.
