Get ready for an intense Black Friday this year because Apple is holding its first sale in years.

After snubbing the Black Friday giveaway last year, the computer giant is teasing that it might take part in the cut-price sale this year.

Apple sent out an email earlier this week and has a small advert of its website telling of a ‘shopping event this Friday’.

The advert shows an Apple Watch, perhaps indicating that the item will feature in the sale.

Customers who order through the Apple website before 5pm on Friday will be eligible for free two-day delivery, according to the website.

In previous years when the Apple giant has taken part… Read the full story

Don’t write off homeopathy – I have seen it produce quite remarkable results

Should homeopathic treatments be discounted? (Picture: Getty)

Homeopathy is frequently reported to be some form of smoke and mirrors illusion performed on the sick and gullible.

As president of the Faculty of Homeopathy, I would argue that the deception is being performed by the therapy’s critics.

As a doctor who integrates homeopathy into her practice, it always amazes me how when the therapy is discussed the opinions of one group of people are almost always neglected.

They are, of course, the many patients who have received the treatment and are convinced that it has improved their health or relieved their symptoms.

The high patient satisfaction scores at the two NHS hospitals where homeopathy is among the treatments available… Read the full story

Courtney Larson and her husband, Cameron, never expected to have quadruplets.

They’d been trying to have children for years, eventually turning to intrauterine insemination – which caused Courtney to fall pregnant with not one, not two, but four babies.

It’s safe to say that Courtney and Cameron weren’t exactly prepared.

Looking your best takes a back seat after a while (Picture: Mmuffin / Metro.co.uk)

You meet. You fall in love. You get married. Your life is all hearts and flowers… Then you have kids and the s*** gets real.

The candlelit dinners and nights of passion have taken a back seat over the years.

Instead, you find yourselves frequently asking, ‘Are we still madly in love with each other?’

Or, ‘Do we even like each other?’

And occasionally, ‘Is snoring an acceptable grounds for divorce?’

It’s time to ask yourself a pertinent question: is your romance well and truly dead or are you enjoying… Read the full story

The craze? Sticking your head at one end of a toilet roll and taking a selfie from the other, in order to look like the moon.

The trend was first started by Nathan Knight, after he submitted an image of himself as the ‘moon’ to Twitter account @TwopTwips.

‘What other trends were big with teenagers in the 2000s?’ I asked the rest of the lifestyle desk this morning. ‘Apart from joining Kabbalah, obviously?’

Muslim woman teaches self-defence to hijab-wearing women as attacks increase

I realised quite quickly, from the stunned silence on the desk, that joining Kabbalah as a teenager is not as normal as I thought it was.

I had assumed that joining Kabbalah (or another niche religion) was a bit like being a vegetarian, a teenage right of passage. Just part of trying to make yourself different by doing the same thing as everyone else.

Apparently not.

It goes without saying that I, like most… Read the full story

Christmas trees are springing up for sale in garden centres, supermarkets and even down the local co-op.

Putting evergreens in the home dates back to the pagan times.

Celebrities such as Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Jodie marsh, TOWIE’s Medan McKenna and Imogen Thomas have all put theirs up but don’t most people wait until December?

Here is everything you need to know about the etiquette in putting up Christmas decorations, including when, why and a little bit about the history.

Most of his quotes are so out there that they deserve a platform on which they can be appreciated fully.

Enter: Trump Against Humanity.

Sadly, sometimes the easiest way to get rid of a guy is to give them a fake number.

Here are London's best pumpkin pies to get you in the Thanksgiving mood

But apparently, a girl named Brandy didn’t think about the consequences when she gave not just one, but several guys a fake number – the same fake number, may we add.

And what were those consequences? The fact that the fake number actually belonged to someone.

And, instead of ignoring the messages meant for Brandy or telling the bunch of guys to go away, the person who received them pretended to be Brandy.

When you work in a shop, you have it constantly hammered into you that the customer is always right (yeah, thanks Mr Selfridge) and you always have to be on your best behaviour to ensure that no-one coming through the shop realises that you are a human with foibles and feelings like them.

But as perfect as we like to seem (especially when there are pesky mystery customers snooping around), every retail worker gets up to no good now and again. Whether it’s telling fibs, cutting corners or even allowed outright profit loss to save yourself a second or two… Read the full story

Parents and headteachers have been in locked an ongoing battle for years over whether or not kids can take holidays during term time.

But one Australian mum has decided to contravene school policy completely by taking her children out of school for an entire year to go travelling.

Blogger Constance Hall, 32, says she’s ‘giving the kids the rest of the year off school to roam around our glorious country’ and says that it’s ‘seriously the best decision I have ever made’.

She says she was expecting the school to be unhappy about the decision but in fact, they were fine about Constance’s two eldest children (five and seven) taking a year out.

‘The school’s reaction surprised me – they were totally cool with it,’ she writes.
