PIC BY JOANNE LEFSON / CATERS NEWS - (PICTURED: Pigcasso the painting pig.) - A pig who was destined to become a pork chop was saved from the slaughter house and has now become an artist. The pig appropriately named Pigcasso is thought to be the worlds only painting pig. She is rarely seen without a paintbrush and spends her most of her time at an easel overlooking the beach in Cape Town. Pigcasso was originally bred to be slaughtered at a pig farm in South Africa but was rescued at just four-weeks old, by her now owner, Joanne Lefson. Upset by the squalid conditions she was kept in, Joanne took pity on the… <a href=Read the full story

If you’re a person with a vagina who doesn’t frequently have sex with other people with vaginas, it’s likely that you haven’t seen many varities of vulvae.*

*That’s the plural for the word ‘vulva’, if you were wondering.

Other than the smooth, pristine, tiny-labia-ed types you see in porn, of course.

This entirely black Christmas dinner will appeal to your inner goth

As a result, it’s easy to feel that something might be wrong with your vulva – that your labia are wonky, that you’re stubblier than you ‘should’ be, that your skin is darker than you reckon is… Read the full story

Peta (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) is known for really going hard on the whole pro-vegan thing.

They’ve tried fooling people into drinking ‘dogs’ milk.

They like to get celebrities to go naked rather than wear fur. They often show really horrendous pictures of skinned animals.

And TBF they have a point.

10 things all cat owners are fearing this Christmas - in pictures

The fur trade is cruel and slaughterhouses often keep loads of animals in conditions that no sentient creature should be in.

So it’s no surprise then that they’re not massive fans of the turkey slaughter fest… Read the full story

The problem with Christmas is that after a while, you end up buying the same boring present for people every year. My mum’s got more L’Occitane gift boxes than she knows what to do with.

If you buy someone a one-off gift, you’ve really got to nail it because they’re not getting anything else.

Last year, a dog named Justice was left to die in a field in Ontario.

His former owners had paid a man to take Justice to an animal shelter, but instead he bound the dog’s legs and mouth with electrical tape so he was unable to move, and dumped him in a field.

It’s incredibly lucky that Justice was found in time and brought to Windsor/Essex Count Humane Society.

But while Justice’s live was saved, he didn’t escape the abuse without… Read the full story

We’re one step closer to our dreams of having McDonald’s shakes on a plane.

This week it was announced that McDonald’s has signed a deal with Canadian airline WestJet, to start offering McDonald’s onboard all WestJet flights.

Which sounds very exciting, but there is a caveat: for now, they’ll only be serving McDonald’s coffee.

What did we ever do to deserve dogs? (Picture: Getty)

Remember that time we discovered that dogs dream about their humans’ faces, and we all had to take a minute to sob a little?

Well, grab the tissues. We just found out yet more proof that dogs are much too good for this world.

A new study has found that dogs can remember what we do – even if it doesn’t have any impact on them.

Claudia Fugazza, an animal behaviour researcher based in Hungary, tried to train dogs to do simple but unfamiliar tasks such as looking inside a bucket, putting hands on a chair, or tapping an umbrella.

When Harris the terrier ran off to chase a deer halfway up Ben Nevis, his owners, Christoff and Alison Du Plessis, feared they’d never see their dog again.

It turns out dogs remember all the little things you do

They were terrified that poor little Harris would freeze in temperatures of minus three degrees, or that he’d end up injured and alone.

But instead, something lovely happened.
