I first started jogging with my dad when I was about 13. Well, I say ‘with’. He would always run 100m ahead, yelling at me to keep up.

At 6am every weekday morning, through frost, puddles and brilliant sunrises, we were out on the pavements of east London like a miniature Rocky Balboa and a less decrepit Mickey Goldmill.
