Kat Woodley and her boyfriend, Jared Forsyth, have been together for two years, after first meeting on a blind date.

They’re both huge animal lovers (they already have a dog named Shamus), so when Jerad decided to pop the question, he knew an animal had to be involved.

You thought being a student would involve a few assignments, and a lot of partying.

Oh, how wrong you were.

Instead you find yourself struggling with your work load, revising, managing dreaded group projects, and still trying to enjoy the festive season and avoid crying into your mince pie.

You’ve now accepted that you won’t really get a proper Christmas until your course is over, and instead you will spend the next few weeks having to miss out on everything fun, with your head firmly wedged into a book.

Great.

1. So poor

As if being buried under a mountain of assignments and reading wasn’t bad enough, you’re actually poor. Not as in only £7.24 in your bank account poor, but so poor that your parents had to pay for your train ticket home. Like Charles Dickens workhouse poor.
