So much judgement (Picture: Comedy Central)

Apparently we’re a bunch of coffee snobs in the UK.

New research carried out by coffee supplier rijo42 suggests we are all embarrassed by our beverage choices.

A whopping 80 per cent of the 1,000 people surveyed said they order different drinks from what they really want because they’re worried what other people might think.

And so they should be; over half the people surveyed admitted to judging people who placed a fussy order.

Which to be fair makes sense, because is there anything more annoying than hearing: ‘I want an extra hot, skinny, caramel, hazelnut macchiato with extra stiff foam and a chocolate drizzle.’

Or some other ridiculous drink you never knew existed until… Read the full story

Oh touche! (Picture: Facebook/ The Hudson Bar)

Well that didn’t take long.

Following on from the baffling news that The Merchant Hotel – a five star establishment in Belfast – has launched an international water menu (we know), The Hudson Bar, described by the Belfast Telegraph as a ‘hipster hangout’, has launched their very own H20 list.

Posting their new water menu (which we sincerely hope people try to order) on Facebook, The Hudson commented: ‘We’d hate to get left behind on this newest innovation in beverage retailing so here’s our brand new water list! Conveniently arranged by your own personal level of daftness.’

It’s just all so meta.

Why eat or drink when you can merely inhale?

If you ever felt like drinking a cup of coffee was just too much effort to get your caffeine fix, you’re in luck.

American company Eagle Energy Vapor has come up with a handy device for inhaling caffeine.

It looks and works pretty much like an e-cigarette, but is apparently made with all natural ingredients like guarana, taurine and ginseng.

Your former lover can go on to become the best friend you ever had if you handle the split properly.

Here are the reasons why you shouldn’t be quick to cast them out of your life entirely.

Those forward rolls have really paid off!

Well they would have, if you’d BEEN TO THE GYM EVER.

Don’t feel bad, you’re not alone – according to thinkmoney, a million people in the UK pay for gym memberships they don’t use, wasting around £480 a year each. That’s £480million we waste through our collective laziness.

Top excuses given to the survey for lapsed gym attendance included: ‘I don’t want to get sweaty and have to wash my hair’, ‘I feel too fat to put on my gym clothes’, ‘I haven’t done my fake tan, so I’m too pale to wear my gym gear’ and ‘I’ve only just done my fake tan and so I don’t want it to go streaky’.

14 per cent of respondents said they feel so guilty about not using their membership, they ‘can’t bring themselves to cancel it’.

No no, don’t feel bad; just do as I do and shove another Mars Bar Milkshake down the hatch – you were doomed… Read the full story

Instagram has lifted its ban on #curvy

Well, that was short-lived.

After causing mass outrage, a bunch of angry think-pieces, and some sneaky hashtag maneuvering, Instagram has lifted its controversial ban on the #curvy tag.

The company maintains that banning #curvy wasn’t because they were body-shaming, but due to the fact that it was apparently being taking over by pornographic images.

Instagram has a system which blocks tags when they’re consistently being associated with content that breaks its terms of service. In the case of #curvy, all that nudity became a bit too much.

Instagram Photo

But after hundreds of users posted photos under #curvee and #bringbackcurvy, Instagram has decided to restore the hashtag.

Going forward, Instagram have said they’ll maintain closer checks on the top posts section of the app to keep an eye out for any nudity posted under the hashtag, and have vowed to be more ‘thoughtful’ about the tags they ban in the future.

People can be so cruel.

A six-week old chihuahua puppy with a red manicured nails has been found abandoned in an alley in Salinas California.

And it gets worse. The puppy – who’s be named Pierre – was found locked inside a lilac, excrement-filled, pet carrier bag, with no access to food or water.

Pierre, who was understandably hungry, thirsty, scared and (most heartbreakingly) crying when he was rescued, was found by a woman who was holidaying in the area, who then took him back to her hotel, before taking him to a local branch of the SPCA pet charity.

Lee John Phillips is an artist who’s honouring his family in a truly touching, creative way. After his granddad passed away, Lee and his family were left with an old tool shed, filled with thousands of bits and bobs (technical definition).

Rather than just sorting things into piles of ‘into the skip’ and ‘sell on ebay’, Lee decided to turn the tools into a tribute to his late relative, starting #TheShedProject – a long-term series of incredibly detailed illustrations of every item found in his granddad’s shed.

He’s already drawn around 4,000 pieces, and has counted an excess of 100,000 total items left behind in the shed.… Read the full story

Toddlers can be funny, cute and cheeky – but some days they can be quite a handful.

Here are a few reasons why they call it the ‘terrible’ twos:

1. A five-minute walk can take hours as they stop to inspect every single stone/blade of grass/crack in the pavement.

2. You have pockets full of pebbles and dead leaves they have given you as ‘presents’.

3. They never want to get dressed.

4. Then they refuse to wear any of the clothes you pick out.

5. At least half of your day is now spent chasing a tiny naked human around the house.

6. The moment you sit down with a hot drink – they will need a poo.

7. Never, ever turn on the hand dryer.

8. They do not NEED… Read the full story

Think the odd all-nighter is harmless? Think again.

Researchers at Uppsala University and the Karolinska Institute in Sweden have found that just one sleepless night can alter the genes that control the biological clocks in your cells.

The paper, which was published in Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, saw researchers study 15 normal-weight men for two nights, on two separate occasions. Whilst they were allowed to sleep normally on one of the nights, they were made to stay awake on the other, under strict lab conditions.

The French artist has replicated iconic artworks including Da Vinci’s The Last Supper, René Magritte’s The Son of Man and Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam.

According to BoredPanda, the pieces, which were exhibited in Paris in an exhibition called ‘Not the ones you think’, are meant to ‘raise questions about beauty, intelligence, and women’s place in society.’

Yes, it’s very sad that our main form of romantic interaction is through Tinder.

And yes, it would be much more romantic to meet someone in the real world, eyes meeting over coffee, noticing you’re each reading the same book, or falling madly in love after seeing each other in the park every Sunday afternoon.

But as much as we’d like these moments to be spontaneous and unexpected, there is a time and a place for trying to pick up potential romantic partners.

And even more so, there are times and places when hitting on someone is just NOT OKAY.

Obituaries don’t tend to be funny. Touching, yes. Flattering, definitely. But funny, not so much.

But when Sandy Stocks’ mum Pat died at the grand old age of 94, he decided to pen something honest, heartfelt and hilarious, to honour her.

The obit begins by playing on the traditional line detailing the people the deceased has left behind. Except in this case it reads ‘She left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to her daughter and sons who have no idea what to do with it.’

It then goes on to chronicle some of the many useless items Pat left behind, which include ‘2 extremely large TV’s from the 90s’, before confirming ‘This is not an ad for a… Read the full story
