An elderly couple have put their incredible replica of Noddy’s red and yellow car up for sale – because they have grown too old for it.

85-year-old Geoffrey Hearn purchased the little motor, made famous by children’s author Enid Blyton, for his Noddy-loving wife Sheila, also 85, back in 2012.

Geoffrey, a retired engineer, said: ‘My wife saw it for sale on eBay and just she had to have it, so I bought it for her.

‘Sheila grew up with the Noddy books and loves unusual cars so it was perfect.

You might be forgiven for thinking that when it comes to racism, we’re pretty much over the hump in this country.

After all, there are loads of black and ethnic minorities in the workplace. No one calls anyone n*****s or p***s out loud anymore.

We’re all good. Diversity is trendy.

But ask any woman of colour and you’ll discover that racism, albeit in a less aggressive form, is alive and well in the office.

69ing. It’s a move most often performed in lesbian porn, Cosmo sex tips, and in your teenage best mate’s entirely made-up recounting of his sexual experiences.

16 reasons 69ing is bloody awful

For some reason, it’s talked about like a sensual, naughty task that should be on everyone’s sexual bucket list.

But everyone knows that in reality, it’s a load of sh*t.

Seriously. You try it once, push through and pretend you’re having a great time (because it feels a bit rude to say ‘this is crap, shall we just stop), and silently vow never to do it again.

Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Price Harry release ten films as part of the Heads Together mental health campaign.

Films that feature people from all walks of life talking about the life changing conversation that helped them cope with their mental health problems.

The films are powerful, they are personal, but more importantly they show that mental health problems can strike all of us.

The rich. The famous.

The normal.

Heads Together asked me to take part in the films because, like so many others, I had a conversation about my own problems last year that did change things for me.

But now, the cloud is real – and it exists to get us tipsy, as opposed to making us want to climb under the covers and never face the world again.

Thanks to part of an installation at the Urban Spree art gallery in Berlin, there is now a cloud than generates raindrops of tequila.

A new study has confirmed what women have always known to be true: that female employees make better leaders than their male colleagues.

Led by Professor Øyvind L. Martinsen, head of Leadership and Organisational Behaviour at the BI Norwegian Business School, researchers looked into the personality traits of nearly 3,000 managers.

Women are better suited to leadership than their male colleagues, says study

And they found that women were better suited to management roles in most areas.

They measured ranked their personalities according to different categories – all of which are useful in leadership positions.

Women ranked higher in a whole host of areas, including initiative and clear communication,… Read the full story

I pride myself on three things: my ability to apply liquid eyeliner without breaking down in tears, the fact that I can confidently say I drink enough water, and my knowledge of vaginal care.

But I’d never considered that two of these three things could play into each other – and that an inability to do one thing correctly could damage another.

As part of Benefit’s Bold Is Beautiful campaign, Metro.co.uk spoke to a domestic abuse survivor about her experiences.

This is her story

I was in an abusive relationship for six years. When first met my husband to be it was all normal. But then, you don’t meet someone and expect them to be abusive straight away.

It started with little things that, at the time, I thought were romantic. He would send me plane tickets so I could travel with him, and want me to go everywhere with him. But the gestures became increasingly controlling. While they seemed like heady romantic gestures originally, what they actually were was a build up towards isolation.

It kept building up,… Read the full story

15 benefits of being an only child

Well, they certainly seem happy enough (Picture: Getty)

There are many myths that only children can be selfish, that they’re spoiled and there’s often the term ‘lonely child’ used instead of only child.

These myths are completely false.

Being an only child isn’t lonely at all and, in fact, you probably learn to share better than anyone.

Sure, only children get all of the attention and are given more than they would if they had siblings, but they aren’t the only benefits.

1. You don’t need to share

But because everyone made you feel so self conscious, as only children are known as being selfish, you’re probably better at sharing than anyone.

2. You are always the favourite… Read the full story

I’m getting married in July.

We’ve got most things sorted out at this stage. Dress, food, invitations, all the usual. But a couple of weeks ago my boyfriend casually asked me, over a glass of wine, whether I’d like a prenup.

Like all millennial cliches, I brought this up over cocktails with my girlfriends. They were horrified. ‘I can’t believe he’d even ask you that’ one of them said. ‘Did it make you feel less sure about marrying him?’ asked another one.

The truth is, it made me… Read the full story

It’s hard for trans people to show themselves because there’s still so much risk involved.

Oh, so much to choose from (Picture: Getty)

We all love a good wedding.

It’s an excuse to get dressed up and, let’s face it, get pissed.

Finding the perfect outfit for the occasion can get a little tricky though, when you realise all of your nice dresses are much better suited to a night out on the tiles than a conservative church wedding (no, you can’t wear the lace body, I don’t care how on trend it is).

It’s particularly troublesome if you’re single and keen to mingle.

Here poses a situation where you must toe the line between being suitably demure, while showing enough skin to entice the fit best man you’ve had your eye on.

Then of… Read the full story
