As anyone training for the London Marathon knows, gym kits get super smelly, super-fast.

When going to the gym becomes a priority you’re either washing your leggings twice a day, you own seven pairs, or you have to put up with a distinctly vinegary smell and hope no one gets too close to you during hot yoga.

Luckily, a California-based startup has developed a carry-all that cleans your gym kit (trainers included) for you.

Growing up, all I ever wanted was a Rubik’s cube.

Never mind the chocolate, here are the Easter eggs Lush is bringing out in 2017

I was not a cool kid. I pictured myself being magically able to master the Rubik’s cube in under a minute, with zero practice or hasty Googling of the technique.

When I got my eager hands on someone else’s Rubik’s cube, I was always entirely stumped. But that didn’t stop me from dreaming I was a Rubik’s master in training, desperately wishing each Christmas that I’d get the colourful cube I so desperately wanted.

But they’re not. The reality is much, much cooler than that.

Every year, Vatnajokull National Park in eastern Iceland becomes home to incredible caves made entirely of ice and crafted by nature.

The natural phenomenon happens when rivers flowing underneath the Vatnajokull Glacier retreat in the winter, making space for people to access the ice caves left behind.

They only appear in the winter months, and form caves brave explorers can climb and peek inside.

There’s a new clear winner for the strongest coffee in the world title, which is great because sleep is for the weak anyway.

48 hours on London's Clapham High Street

Now I love coffee, but the thought of Black Insomnia, the world’s strongest coffee is daunting, to say the least.

Just one cup of this coffee contains more than twice your recommended daily limit of caffeine, with a whopping 58.5mg per fluid ounce – that’s 702mg for a 12-ounce cup.

To put this in perspective, a Starbucks brew usually sits at around 21.25mg per fluid ounce and a Green Tea at 3.1mg.

Six people open up on what it’s like to live with bipolar disorder

Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition that affects your moods – meaning that they can swing from one extreme to another over extended periods.

Stunning photos show the incredible natural phenomenon of Iceland's ice caves

In my experience, some periods are shorter, with moods changing within weeks, and others last for months on end.

There is a state of stability, which means I feel ‘normal’ for a period of time, but stability is often hard to reach, though medication can help.

As someone who suffers from bipolar disorder, my moods can range from mania to depression. I can go from feeling very high and elated, doing things out of character such as changing my appearance, spending a lot of money, or doing irresponsible things – and at the same time be incredibly motivated and need little sleep with. This is juxtaposed with periods of feeling very low and depressed – and even suicidal.

Round and round and round we go… (Picture: Alamy)

I grew up in Luton.

Yes, that place which is best known for having an airport, once being home to the country’s biggest hat industry and, er, other less positive stuff.

But despite this, there’s something quite unique about what it was like to grow up in there and there’s still always a lot to look back on fondly.

It might not be the greatest place but I’m still proud to say I come from Luton.

Here’s the primer for the outsider:

No matter how old you are, you’ll always get that look of curiosity and/or shame when you inform someone that you studied at Halyard High School,… Read the full story

Why we still need Pride in 2017

Pride parades still take place across the globe (Picture: Getty)

Four or five years ago, when I was a gay teen, I might have questioned the validity and necessity of Pride celebrations in modern British society.

Some say the battle has already been won – we can marry, there are laws to protect us from hate in school and workplaces, and so on.

Others may argue it feels almost as if we are singling ourselves out, being given one day in the year where we can completely be ourselves – 17-year-old me certainly thought so.

It wasn’t until I actually went to my first Pride in 2014 that I realised why it was and is… Read the full story

Cheese made out of wine exists and here’s why you should eat it in Piedmont

‘You can knock at any door and they will feed you,’ a local tells me about about Piedmont, Italy’s second-largest region.

They couldn’t have been more right. I could barely get through any doors before being presented with a banquet of the finest local cheese, wine and meat.

Piedmont is surrounded on three sides by the alps and its name is fittingly derived from the phrase ai pied del monte, meaning ‘at the foot of the mountains’.

So it won’t come as a huge surprise that the food mostly comes from the mountains here.

The production is no joke to the locals either, who work tirelessly to ensure that the area is widely regarded as Italy’s best region for wine, cheese and truffles.

By the end of a two day trip, it was hard just to fit through the doors.

Just try to visit Piedmont without returning at least a few pounds heavier than when you left.

As long as you do not mind about the inevitable weight gain, there are so many fine local ingredients… Read the full story
