My villa (Picture: To Tuscany)

There’s no way to say this without sounding like a smug git, but I’ve holidayed in Italy quite a lot (see – I told you).

It’s my parents’ European destination of choice and, as a result, I’ve spent many a happy summer eating obscene amounts of smooth, creamy Italian ice cream.

But it wasn’t until I visited Chianti that I felt I’d actually experienced the real Italy.

Trust me, these photos will make you want to visit Machu Picchu

Prior to my trip, my only reference point for Chianti was the wine – which my parents, who remember its incarnation as… Read the full story

Mimi Mbah is a 19-year-old student and aspiring model from Gaithersburg, Maryland.

As an aspiring model, Mimi is, well, stunning, and also has to share a lot of photos of herself online.

Brilliant photo series celebrates the beauty of ageing

Last week, some of Mimi’s photos were shared by @_AFRICANS_, a Twitter account that celebrates beautiful people of African origins.

There were loads of positive responses, but – because this is the internet and racism is still alive and well – there were some unpleasant ones, too, including one tweet that read: ‘[If] she was lighter, she’d be fire’.

Mimi refused to accept that… Read the full story

Many of us entertain ambitions of eating healthily.

We start off strong, filling up on porridge and fruit. At lunchtime, we bring out our carefully constructed packed lunches – packed with vegetables and protein. We are the very picture of health.

But that 3 pm slump comes round and all you can think of is Snickers.

I have had body dysmorphia since the age of six, when I first received comments about being too ‘fat’ to fit into certain clothes

How to stop worrying about work when you're on holiday

Body dysmorphic disorder is known as a ‘psychological disorder in which a person becomes obsessed with imaginary defects in their appearance’ – this ultimately means that for as long as I can remember, I’ve never been able to see myself at the size I actually am.

I’ve been at both ends of the spectrum.

Throughout my teens, I was severely bulimic. I would eat next… Read the full story
